When I was 18, I experienced severe pain in my lower torso, about 2.5 inches below my navel and about 3 inches to the right. At first I hoped it would go away on its own, but as it became more and more unbearable, I knew I needed emergency treatment. After arriving in the ER, they quickly took me in, and after two days in and out of consciousness, I told the nurse to have them remove my appendix, that I was sure that was what it was.

It's better to go to a doctor and get it checked out than to wait it out and wonder, and I'm sure your parents would rather make sure you are healthy when in doubt. Even if it is another benign cyst the doctor may want to check into what may be causing you to get cysts. Please do your parents a favor and let them know!

So yesterday I started getting this constant knife pain near my belly button. So Laid down all day hoping it would improve. It felt a little better when I curled up in a ball. Now it is starting to move to the right and be pulsing stabs. I've had an ovarian cyst on the other side that went away. Could this be that or could it be appendicitis? Im 16 and I don't want to bug my parents if it is another cyst. Help?

I remember when I was 19 that right after I ate fillet fish sandwich from mcdonalds I started getting so much pain in my tummy, the worst I had ever felt, and I was at work and I had to run to the restroom to vomit and constant diarhea and chills, fever and sweating & my stupid manager didnt want to let me leave so I had to suffer for 4 hours more until I got out at midnight & went to the emergency and they said that the fish was with salmonella so they had to remove my appendix! I almost died!

I always tend to err on the cautious side...we doctors have seen too many cases where people had serious health issues and didn't seek diagnosis / treatment until too late. I would suggest you get checked by a doctor just to rule out anything. Although it may be an inconvenience to go in and be seen, If there is something that needs to be treated you will be glad you went....a more terrifying result than having surgery is needing to have surgery and NOT having it!

PLEASE THUMBS UP SO THEY CAN SEE THIS! I was on the trampoline earlier today and i landed incorrectly while doing a trick (i am a cheerleader) and my right lower side started to hurt, it doesn't hurt too bad but it does hurt quite a lot, kind of like someone is punching me. I can also kind of feel it in my back as well. it hurts more sitting down.. Please help, should i go to a doctor? I am TERRIFIED of surgery! :/ PLEASE HELP!

I tend to give advice based on the most cautious approach. The ideal would be to speak to an ER doctor or an urgent care doctor, or at a minimum to an 911 operator if you can. To be the most cautious, an ambulance or someone taking you to an Emergency Room is the best thing to do, because with the knowledge I have, I'd rather consider actions which should be taken if the condition is truly very serious. Let me know how everything works out.

hello i'm 13 a boy and my sister had appendicitis it isnt a stabbing pain its more of a i think maybe hungry i went to the bathroom sat down for a while in an hour i got a sharp pain in my side like by my ribs on the right side went away now it feels like im hungry but its my belly and above my leg and under my ribcage on the right side PLEASE RESPOND FAST i dont know whats going on and im scared :(

thoug was appendicitis and turns out i ruptred a cyst and since then iv been in really bad pain that can get really sharp and stay dull after that. iv been seen by a gyno to rule out anything as far as reproductive and its all come back negative. little things bother me and at times it also hurts to press on. any ideas?

i got this pain in my lower ab, and i can no longer pass gas. i sometimes experience sharp pain with sweating, but during the day i am too busy to notice, is it appendicitis?

i woke up one day randomly in the morning feeling bloated and sluggish all day, it felt like i had trapped wind, i also struggled to pass water. The next day the pain moved down to the right hand side of my lower abdomen, at this point i thought it was a urine/bladder infection. At this point i contacted my general practicioner (GP) and got diagnosed with apendicitis, what im saying is if you feel like how ive felt above, contact your doctor straight away as apendicitis can be very dangerous.

@noiretbeau Depends. I had acute apendicitis and mine would have burst had I not had emergency surgery. It can be dangerous. Alot of natural remedies are complete bullshit.
