I saw Zao play infronmt of about 13 people in England just after Parade of Chaos came out... and then in Florida just after Funeral of God. In England it was with the stand in tour vocalist that helped out between when Dan departed and came back. Scott Rus and Dan ARE Zao now. Not all Zao fans like this, but in my opinion... they still know how to fuckin shred! ZAO FOREVER

Actaully, the orginal drums for this song where on a keyboard, on the whole self-titled albumn they where done like that, thats why it always sounds different live.
No, digi drums... pretty much demo drums they did to put the albums together which Jesse did on an electric kit ended up being the final. That is why this song much better live.
I can play that song, it's not that hard. And don't give me bullshit, "prove it" just ask any good drummer to do that, it's not so hard Jeff Gretz was actually better than Jesse in some respects. I can duplicate everything Jesse does, but Jeff's playing is beyond me.
Jesse had personality that other drummers could not replicate, plus precission. What he lacks in techincal skill he always made up for in delivery. He was very good for the underground scene in that region and was admired for his passion. I hae heard drummers diss him and others goggle over him.
Jeff Gretz technically was good, I definatly liked him.

actually i read somewhere once that Jesse Smith was at one time considered the best drummer in underground metal, whether it be Christian or not. i believe it, he has some pretty good drumming in him.

Zao doesn't translate word of God, word of God would be logos tou theou. Zao means life, but is somewhat indicative of spiritual life, though not exclusively so.

Yeah, he's right, maybe about seven years. Ever since Liberate, Jesse didn't want the band to be labeled "Christian" and told all the mags and interviewers that they arent. And I'm a much bigger fan than you.
