  • I want to hear these three do Gravelwalk! bet ya' they nail it!

  • Man on the fiddle, you haunt my dreams, and pull my strings. I want to rosin your bow.

  • Yea ya can't imagine how i was bangin ma heead, an dancin around.......i tried to come in on guitar!!quite successfull, or so i thought....But all my friends?...said it was crap???

  • music is brilliant!! well done the lot of ye's!! and yes I agree with everyone else, the doll in on the accordion is gorgeous

  • @slippingontheslide, can you honestly judge someone else ??, you have your musical preferences, but to judge they good musicians on their talents, talents far beyond yours, your a hypicrate, call yourself musically talented ? pfft, I wouldnt piss in your guitar, and as for picking an arguement, one with an All Ireland Champion is aiming higher than heaven for someone of your standard.. next time take your ignorance and veiws where the sun dont shine, well done to the musicians in the video

  • just to add, my videos are just demonstrations of the grades at that leve. they're not meant to be difficult or complicated. even that is too hard for you to comprehend. stick to the boring repetive durge, it seems to suit you. maybe one day you might learn that music does exist that has feeling and varitety.

  • @slippingontheslide go to a session, and try to sit in and play how you think irish music should be played. i promise you, it will sound awful. as for this set, they are not rushing through it at all. they are playing at a perfect tempo and putting great energy into the music.

  • you obviously have no idea what you are talking about.

besides i wasn't trying to be rude about your laying, but you managed to turn it into a slanging match.

do have anything original to say. i don't think you do.

and as for you playing anything other than this durge, i only have your owrd for that.

  • nice playing but why are you all playing the same notes?

  • @slippingontheslide Coz it'd sound a right mess otherwise!

  • @Joe1729

    ever heard of playing harmonies?

  • @slippingontheslide Um, ever heard of Irish music?

  • @Joe1729

are you saying you can't play harmonies in irish music. does that mean when someone plays a melody you someone else can't play chords, arpeggios or a counter melody over the top?

  • @slippingontheslide (@Joe1729) There's a rather nice and clean sound with their playing in unison, only interrupted by the individual ornaments best suited to or different nuances of the different instruments. Whilst throwing in harmonies and counter melodies gives a nice full sound for some tunes, I think it's good to use them cautiously amongst sets with a cleaner sound, and perhaps go by the guideline of "less is more". But that's just me; everyone's style is different, and I'm open to that!

  • @ScotsmanRS

i never said it sonded bad. just a bit boring. as you say it's a matter of taste.

onw of thegirls is playing an accordian which is the perfect instrument for adding chordal texture, seems a shame that they all wanted to look good rather than put forward a half decent arrangement. 'look at me i can play all the notes in the melody' lol

  • @slippingontheslide I suppose there are a few bits where it could use a bit of filling out, though I'm always a bit wary of cluttering it rather than adding to it and would maybe add it sparingly on the accordion and just shove in a piano accompaniment if a fuller sound was needed. Again, that's just me and I'm sure that someone else with a different style could disagree entirely and arrange it in a completely different way, which keeps Irish (and Scottish) music interesting and fresh!

  • @slippingontheslide if that were the case then just have one instrument or an accordian and fiddle of banjo playing the melody. in my own personal opinion just seems a bit overkill on the tune.

  • @slippingontheslide Those that know the least usually say the most. I find it VERY refreshing to hear these kids playing the melody together, not the crap-american no-talent guitarist accompaniment just sitting there playing chords really loud. This arrangement is beautiful and I love seeing the young talent, it's all in very good taste. "slippingontheslide" I'll bet nobody in real life wants to hear you play, so you go on the net and pretend your a critic. What's your instrument, cazoo?

  • @IanRawlinson

i play the paper and comb actually, but i'm just a beginner.

besides i never said they couldn't play, just thought a bit of imagination would have been good.

they have no imagination. typical of yonug kids really. all speed no feeling.

and who was insulting you? no one so bog off. i'm entitled to my own opnion.

where do you get your razor sharp quips from, a bubblegum wrapper?

  • @slippingontheslide lol do you have a clue what you are on about??

if you ask me, throwing lots of silly little pointless counter melodies and god forbid ARPEGGIOS makes the person look like they want to show off when they should in fact learn to play the tune how it's meant to be played. the three people in this video know how to play irish music. you clearly don't.

  • @DJFozter

are you some kind of facist who doesn't allow anyone to have an opinion other than yourself?

i still stand by what i say. if you like to listen boring repettive music that drones on and on without any changes or real structure that's up to you. but then maybe you are irish and can't cope with variations on a melody?

try listening to some jazz or bach.

  • @slippingontheslide

If you find this music so "boring and repettive"(sic), why don't you sod off and go listen to your jazz etc. I personally like Bach, but find jazz boring, However, I don't leave negative comments about youtube jazz songs. Best to leave that to sad people. Enjoy your music! :-)

  • haha you folks could give the music a listen too, wouldn't hurt. really nice playing guys!
