I have recently test drove both of these cars...to me Lexus is the obvious winner...faster, more reliable, nicer interior, nicer looking exterior, customer service is insulting with BMW while superb with Lexus, far more tech in the Lexus...the list goes on...I'm not saying BMW are bad cars...I just think Lexus offers the informed buyer more.

I own neither of these cars but I'm looking and considering both. Stock for stock very similar but what really tweaks me towards the 335i is what they do with just an intake and a tune.  Love both of these cars but the 335i has a leg up for easy extra hp. If not for that I'd probably lean back towards the IS.

IS350 is faster off the line up to 125MPH and then the 335i will start pulling on it.

I own a 2008 IS350, ive raced a shit ton of cars as well as a 335i. i raced a 335i from Dead Stop, and i beat it up to 125, then he started pulling, were both experienced drivers and both our cars are dead stock.

You guys are all nuts. It's close, but the 335i is USUALLY the quicker of the two, when both are stock. 350 only traps 102-103 vs 14-105 for the 335. The 350 is just geared very deeply which means the BMW 335 will walk away hard at about 110mph.

335i doesn't walk away hard at 110 mph you idiot. The test data shows IS350 gets 110 mph in 15.4 sec while the 335i gets 15.7 or .8 sec. It's not faster, it's slower than the IS350. You have to get above 120 mph to start overtaking the IS. The IS doesn't behave the same as the Automatic TL like it stops accelerating at 112 mph you stupid. You didn't even actually drive the IS and take it up 120~ 145 mph. It's also heck a lot faster than the TL 6MT at 4th gear, you stupid fuckin fag.

is350 is faster in a straight line no doubt (which i think is really impressive) and it is more reliable, i promise you all these 335i's are going to break down in a few years. about 350 hp on a twin turbo 3 L (relatively small) V6 especially with all the chips and shit people are putting on them. and we all know how bmw like to beat down their machines lol

yet the 335i is definitely the better drivers car (comes in a stick too), its a much more rewarding in the way it handles and feels.

@vasylhr Um...man you need to get your facts right. The is350 will run 5.7 if grandma is driving it, but 4.7 is normal for the 350. The 335i can also hit 60 in less than 5 sec. (not sure about exact time). And the 335 wont start to pull ahead of the 350 until around 110 mph.

You post these videos of you running high 13's and trapping as much as my RSX did... The first time I took my Z to a 1/4 I ran a 13.6@106.4 mph with Stillen G3's. Now I have full bolt ons and while I can't get passed 12.9XX I am still trapping 109-111mph. The ISF is more compared to the 335i and 370z

@paapaa33 My IS350 ran a best of 13.6 @ 102 in 80 something degree heat last summer. I'd love to see a 335i beat it in the summer heat in the south. It would never happen stock vs. stock. I am going to try and get a couple passes this weekend. I should be around a 13.3... I will post vid results. Just search 335i vs IS350. Almost every video shows 335i's getting raped by ISs. Sure the 335i has much more mod potential. No one is arguing against that.

@gus738 your obviously not an owner of a 335i nor a is350. it seems to me that you get all your info form you tube and not actually driving the cars. i myself own both a 2007 335i and a 2010 is350 and hands down the 335i is faster no questions asked. both of my cars are not stock now but even with the mods on the is350 my 335i with chip and full exhaust still spanks the IS all day. daily driven wise i would say the is350 is best but overall power 335i is beast!!

no matter what, the is350 can not keep up with a modded 335 regardless how much mods is on the is350. Is350 has way too much restrictions. The S/C kit only gives about ~40 WHP. VS the tune on 335 gives 80 WHP/80 Torque. which makes the 335 to about ~360 WHP vs the is350 ~300 WHP with boost.

They don't make them loose power. People dyno the LMS s/c with approx. ~40WHP. Stock for stock 1/4 mile. I would say the is350 would be faster. since they are way easier to launch than the 335. The 335 would win on a roll for sure. Since the is350 don't have enough torque compared to the 335. The 335 is way friendly modly so if you guys are looking for a car that is friendly modly = 335. $500 mod will get you in the low 12s.
