  • wonderful, very helpful. i always have difficulty breaking balance first because my right hand tends to push straight, instead of driving up. looks like a bad habit thing

  • Loud neon

  • Bin auch im Judo jetzt weiß ich wie der geht im prizip wie osoto otoshi

  • 3 people don't think yamashita sensei could kick their ass.....

  • Yamashita is the best fighter and teacher!!!!

  • thanks for uploading!! this is awesome!!

your very lucky to have been apart of this clinic!!

  • who is in front of the camera hiding yamashita with his head??!!grrrrr!

  • This is very very good....more instructional than others that Ive seen.

  • I want my mommy !!!

  • Thanks for sharing. Sweet instructional.

  • Hey this is great!

Great to see this video after i read Yamashita's Masterclass Judo book on O-Soto-Gari.

    Thanks for posting. :)

  • Senseishin,

    Hola and Konichiwa !

Is there a classic hand placement for this throw ?

  • This is great, I"m only training BJJ right now but this was my favorite technique when I did Judo. Thank"s.

  • Thanks for the very informative video. I'm curious about one thing: I was taught Osoto gari requires calf of thrower to hit the calf of the receiver. I noticed your tripping leg actually makes contact slightly higher than that, is this better?

  • Just to clarify, Yamashita is not producing these videos or the commentary, but I will respond to your question th best I can. Yamashita is executing classic kake for osoto gari, which is to use the back of his knee to cut at the back of his uke's knee.

  • @ItsMeBenn yeah for me, I was taught the same thing, Calf to Calf

  • The Kuzushi, Tsukuri, and combinations was very helpful. The technical instruction can lag over here a bit, and I haven't found much stuff on the web. More would be great. (Hamstrings still killing me from inner-tube uchi komi!)

  • Senseishin,

Thanks for posting this stuff. The Kuzushi stuff from Yamashita is very good. I've been looking for months - literally for something like this.

I'm from a small (6 member!) Judo Dojo in Indonesia

  • You're very welcome.

  • this is awesome and very valuable! thank you for posting!
