Well done, guys! I actually liked the modern interpretation. It didn't seem egotistical at all. If you didn't have much of a budget, oh well. You excel musically and that is far more important than costumes. I've seen plenty of plays that looked great but turned out to be a disappointment in every other sense. Kudos for trying your hand at this. Cinderella is, after all, a rather modern tale. I think we can all relate to the plight of the underdog to an extent.

I did this show a long time ago when i was in 8th grade... I played the stepmother... her role probably still is the most fun to play i think.. Im not much of a singer but im a good enough actress so we decided why should the stepmother sing beautifuly.. so i was able to have even more fun by singing all of the high notes really sharp!! lol

You can change the key? You can use the same notes just with a lower key on the piano. That's what we do for our plays. ^.^

My skool did this play last year It was grades 5-8 and it was so hard im the scene where they r all dancin @ the ball i thought it was pretty good considering the age that we r. urs is really good though this year is willy wonka. if u want to see a few clips go to mjacezko's channel. thnx hope u like it

this is wonderful.. but if im not mistaken, isn't there a whole scene before this? it includes the song "the sweetest sounds" where Cinderella and christopher first bump into eachother

@hollywoodzebras No, that was strictly put in for the Brandy version of the movie. This is the opening number from the original Rodger's and Hammerstein musical. It's still wonderful though, both versions.

nice. overture sounds great, your instrumentalists are wonderful. costumes are ok... i really like the idea of doing something different, and you guys probably didn't have to pay outrageous costs for renting/buying them. vocals are great. one of the MUCH better versions on youtube.

They aren't weird costumes. They're the costumes we chose to fit our own theme. We didn't want a cookie-cutter Cinderella story so we chose the theme of making it more modern, and adding our own colorful twist. We didn't want to use the same costumes every one and their mother was using, so we chose the costumes that fit our personalities and our characters the best. We had the best costumes imaginable. So, no, the costumes aren't weird, but there's the reason that they're different.

When an audience goes to see Cinderella, they expect to see a "Cookie-cutter" version--it needs to look like what they expect to see or they have no interest. The most important reason you perform is for the audience--not to advance your ego or try to be avant garde. However, that being said, your all sounded great

I guess, if you wanna get technical, 8 of us were high schoolers but we still go to the local jr. high until sophomore year.

Thank you. We were all 8th and 9th graders and a lot of us had never been in a musical before that year. It was a lot of hard work, but it paid off

Actually, EVERYONE in this class is in modern day clothes (except, somewhat, the flower girl in the left front). We modernized this version on the play so, if you watch the other videos, you'll notice that it's very modern-esque clothing.
