We in Italy called it CONFORMISM and it is modus vivendi !
Thrived and promoted by all dictatorial systems. I haven't seen the movie but know 4 shore, there was and are people who resist and fight for freedom, giving they life for it.
It seams to me that the young man feelings of greatness and belonging, is also just another one, propaganda illusion!?
Interesting debate, very actual, is what is happening all over,
peoples indiference to liberty's and freedom. Fear, is the cause I think
