They had the fake punt/ fake field goal play in the playbook and it worked vs Denver. But of course, being the Redskins they had to change it. Why not motion the whole offensive line, leaving no one to protect Smith? Great idea!!

@Robert2G FINALLY someone gets it. It's a swinging gate play, one of the more common special teams gadget plays. Once upon a time I pulled this off on my pee-wee football team when I was eight years old. Gruden is an idiot if he had never seen this before.

But yes, the execution was pretty terrible.

No it is definitely a fail. Giants called a timeout before this play because they saw what the Redskins were going to do. You would think the Redskins would switch plays up? Nope, they run the exact same play that the Giants have just prepared for.
