From what I have heard, the studios that made the first movie (Revolution, etc.) had financial problems and decided to drop the series, as it was a bit oddball, and they weren't sure if it would be profitable in the long run. So, it took a while but Universal finally picked it up. That's why the movie took so long... no moolah without a studio. Or at least thats what I've read, so I could be wrong.

The first one was a 2004 release, so actually, it is only four years. Plus, if it takes a movie two years from the start of the scripting to release, and it is in limbo for a while because of studio trouble, that actually isn't too bad. It's not like they can just turn these types of films out every couple months...

Plus, I'm sorry that they didn't live up to your standards, but movies are hard to make. Stop being such a jerk about it. Sounds like a great guy, Hellboy is a great, enjoyable comic and was a great movie, I enjoy the folklore aspect of the comics. One of the few great comics left, MOST of the Marvel/DC/image stuff is garbage anymore.Look forward to the seoncd movie, Selma Blair is hot!!!

hes a really talented man, i used to not read comics anymore since spiderman in the late 90's, but his HELLBOY has brought me new joys and brought me back to comic books!!!! hes awesome!! ive met him once at comic con and he drew me a hellboy on my sketchpad!!! cool guy!!!
