I think it's disgusting that Top Gear can go about destroying our heritage that we should be proud of. Granted, the Marina was a bit of a low point in the British motor industry's history but it's part oh our heritae and they shouldn't be treated like that. The Marina is also now a classic car so that upsets me as well as thousands of other people.

The Morris Marina/Ital were nothing more than a rebody of the Morris Minor. A large percentage of the mechanicals were identical and the Morris Minor goes back to 1948. It is it any wonder it was such a bad car compared to others of it's day? The Maestro/Montego was considered a technological marvel compared to one of these and those were even pretty bad.

The Marina was one of british leylands finest lump of turd. It was then later replaced with the Morris Shital. That piece of crap was based on a morris minor so who wouldn't drop a piano on it? Grandad had one & dad had one in his day, luckily my dad was a mechanic in the early 1980's but if you had a Marina you had to be!!!
