hey man nice truck, i got the same truck as yours but i dont have the LT package and mines brighter silver with a black front end. I was wondering if you noticed any clunking sounds/ vibrations in the trans/ rear end when you let off the gas to slow down or turn and then re apply the gas. This is the only problem i have on my truck, ill post some vids soon. Thanks

Great review! I have a '11 Silverado extended cab with the V8 5.7 motor. It ROCKS! I gotta say I really enjoy driving it. It is the first truck that's actually COMFORTABLE! But you are right on the back seat, i've had the truck 4 months now, and prolly had people in the back about 4 times. But its extra room. Haven't had it in the snow or mud yet so I'm not sure about the 4wd and how good it is. Oh yeah, must be nice to have a FULL tank!!!! :)

i just got a black one a few months ago , put the plastic bed rails on it and a cheap tool box from lowes and some polishes stainless fender trim and it looks sick, like the 4.3 too, all the power you need and it looks like you can actually work on it for once with all the room

I woulda bought a truck a couple years older with 4x4 and more options. That way you dont have to wory about it losing so much value so quick and it still should be reliable but still a nice chevy you got there.

One more thing real quick. GM customer service is barely ahead of their products . In other words they SUCK BIG TIME!!! Stay away!!  Buy Ford or Toyota. This is NOT A JOKE! A $500 a month yard ornament isn't pretty at all. LIKE A SANDSTONE!!@

From my experience with my 2008 model with the 5.3 liter. They suck! Uses 1 quart of oil per every 12 to 1500 miles driven. Rear diff has excessive amount of a backlash, power locks and windows incapacitated, ,throttle body needs replaced, rusting bed supports. No dealership support. Was told that the mechanical problems were well within the specifications of the manufacture. What a joke! Last GM product is family purchases. Sell it while you can. Don't get stuck with a $500 plus payment

I think the new ones look great and have great interiors as you stated, I drove an '08 2500hd that was loaded for prom 2 yrs ago. It was a really nice ride and they add more little features like chrome around the gages and stuff in the loaded models along with radio controls to the right of the steering wheel. nice truck!

nice truck... I have an 06 short bed with the 4.3L and i get around 22 hwy which I think is great for a truck... Mine is a 2wd and i really like it so far... I've had it less than a month but i really like it...

@ChuckE2009 mine is an automatic... not sure when they stopped making stick shifts, but think it was around 04.... I have the manual windows on mine, but it has a am/fm with cd player which works for me... haha...

@ChuckE2009 GM makes the best trucks, but Ford and Chrysler make good trucks as well!

22MPG hwy would be awesome. Considering it's a V6, how well does it perform? Fuel economy, performance, and reliability. I know the 5.3L and 6.2L V8's are excellent choices, but not fuel economy wise lol.

And, is it comfy? Are the seats and ride quality good?

lol I know it's a lot of q's but I'm looking into buying one. Would rather hear from an honest person who owns it rather than a dealer.

Man That truck is a down grade compared to the 96 you had. Its going use more gas then the 96 would of. after a year of owning it. them 4.3s suck the fuel

If you think there is a lot of room in front your enginge you should see my truck. Ive got a 98 dodge ram with a 3.9 v6. The engine compartment was built to hold the 5.9 Cummins . There is like 2 1/2 feet between the engine and radiator, There is a fan shroud takin up that space, but if i removed it and put an electric fan in, It would be open.

and still had no balls. empty with 600 miles on it it took forever to pass a semi on a two lane road. the raptor... no where to be seen and it had the 5.4 baby v-8. my mom had a suzuki... sorry shitty equinox and at 22000 the engine started knocking. in 80000 miles it went through 4 transmissions and right after we got rid of it it popped a rod. im just glad we got rid of it before it grenaded on us. new chevys arent worth a shit. chinese engines and korean transmissions. good luck

Hmmm, Id definatly like to see where you got your facts from. To my knowledge, ford, dodge, and toyota all offer standard windows, etc...

This one has lots of balls, Id say more-so than the 96 with the 5.0, it is much more responsive especially with higher-end torque, and its only missing 35 HP from the 5.0 V8. I cant speak for the equinoxs as I have no experience with them, but this truck is 60% American, and 30% Mexican. The engine is from the US, transmission from Mexico.

@ChuckE2009 you are too funny!! our equinox was built in canada by suzuki. the chevy cobalt is made in korea by KIA. the chevy pickup i drove had a sticker on the valve cover with a bunch of gook writing all over it and underneath? ENGINE MADE IN CHINA. maybe thats why it rattled and knocked?

WOW GM lied their asses off once again. this truck is a 2011 WITH roll up windows. Gm said they stopped roll ups in 2009. wow just wow. not only that but the government mandated that all autos and cars made after march of 2010 were to have power windows. wait... GM Government Motors.... ok i get it... they dont have to follow the rules because the government owns them. on the other hand i drove one of these when my buddy went to buy his new raptor. i had to drive it to his house. had the v-8 >

Sweet color, in our 2010 sierra i found the interior to be a tad on the cheap side but whatever, great truck nonetheless. And i think of the 4.3 not as a big 6, but a small 8

Very nice truck, congrats! Reminds me of last year when my dad got his brand new silver 2010 Ford Ranger Sport Supercab 4x4 automatic. We were torn between getting that, or a 2010 GMC Sierra reg cab 2WD with the 4.8L V-8 and 8ft box. The Ranger was a better deal and it's easier to park, although just as hard on gas as any full sized truck. But we're happy with it!
