  • TechIdeal.co.uk got mine today for £146 without delivery

  • this cpu or core i5 2500k?

  • @motorhead45102 Well, the i5 is only a quad core, and this is a six core that is cheaper. So I'd say this one.

  • what program should i use to check my cpu temps? i got the 1090t

  • is this good for BF3?

  • @trekhead1 Yep

  • @trekhead1 please... I run it at ultra, no overclocking O.o

  • why is this so cool? o.O

  • How the feck do you afford this ?

  • @MetalMilitia190 175 bucks aint too bad foo. quad core intels are upwards of 250

  • @MetalMilitia190 i got a phenom x6 1090t brand new for 150 bucks there not that much

  • Capital "T" at the end of the processor's name doesn't stand for Thuban... it stands for Terminator ;), Thumbs up if you own your very own T-1090 xDD

  • I used to love intel. The truth of the matter is sure Intel may rule the benchmarks with its higher end i7's.

But, I don't see the justice in paying a > $500 diffrence between a high end i7 vs an AMD Phenom II thats only slighlty slower.

  • i got a core 2 quad system and sticking with it for a long time to come.

But my next cpu. Phenom 1090T OC @4ghz Hell yeahhh

  • Can my A780FullHD fit this processor?

  • awsome review! i prefer watching your vids than going to toms hardware. keep up the good work

  • I don't like injustice of any kind. So why can't AMD chips get equality in the review stakes. ? It's so unfair that the reviews of 90% of Intel i7 930 vs AMD Thuban reviews are skewed in favour of intel and their design.

The only place doing equality reviews seems to be Tom's hardware. Which shows that the Thuban is a match for the i7 930 (a great chip by the way).

Anyone wanting a true picture: i7 930 vs thuban 1090t at tom's hardware.

  • Dfghgjksdhjj

  • now this is a review

  • Bueller?

  • 1090 or 955 ???

  • @snerl69 the 1090T has got more cores. so based on that, I should take the 1090T. but most programs won't notice a difference.

  • @snerl69 2500k

  • I have that one,and it's too LOUD ! I really don't get why??? :(

  • @croatianthug try a new cooler?

  • @snerl69 I will ! Can you recommend some?

  • You probably should have told everybody that you might have to assign the timing and voltage to the ram manually in the bios. I had problem after problem til I figured it out. timing is 8-8-8-24 and voltage 1.65v

  • Im a noob at computers so i am wondering if this works on any motherbored?

  • @XxDeDevilxX It will work on any motherboard with a AM3 (or AM3+) socket. Also make sure the motherboard can support this CPU by looking on the manufacturer website or in the manual and update your BIOS to the latest version.

  • @jackgalloway256 So an intel motherbored doesn't work?

  • @XxDeDevilxX Nope, sorry.

  • @jackgalloway256 Thanksw you saved me alot off time :D

  • I just ordered this one, can't wait ^-^

  • @omg123596 why don't take FX-8120?

  • @Coolingmy That cpu is crap, read some reviews.

  • is this for laptops to cause i cant find a laptop processor to save my life everywhere i go it shows me laptops not laptop processors

  • would a CIT powersupply 600 watt dual 12 volt rail and a ati radeon 4670 run this?

  • ok this may be a stupid question but this or the a8-3850

  • @sameranio3110 APUs are Athlons with low end graphics. The 1090T is better but the i5 2500K is better than any Phenom II. You can also wait for FX (Bulldozer AM3+)

  • stupid question that has been asked a million times... but, will overclocking each core to 4GHz do any damage to the processor? i'm not trying to buy this and overclock to have it burned out or messed up ...

  • soooo hexacore is 6 cores?

  • @19f97 yeah!

  • I have 9mb of Cache?

  • I only have a floppy disc :(

  • how much better is an i7 to this? like 0.5Ghz faster? i need to know what to get thank you

  • @ht448 go to a site called "cpu benchmark" and see for yourself

  • @ht448 i7 is faster than this.

  • @SirGomez81 thanks lol i already bought one im on my new pc right now :D

  • @SirGomez81 only the top of the range version.

  • cool video review thx

  • I have this. Nom Nom Nom.

  • couldn't live without mine

  • Does an AMD Phenom II x6 fit on the AM2+ socket?

  • @KoentjuhhGameplayHD yes but i dont recomend it

  • @KoentjuhhGameplayHD

if your motherboard support AM3, can fit , gigabyte GA-M720-US3 support am2, am2+ and am3

  • @KoentjuhhGameplayHD It will fit. It will also only work if you have the latest bios

  • @resny0 You cant spell 'bought' and you want to overclock. I sense an rma request in your future.

  • great for crunching .worldcommunitygrid

  • RICH!!

  • I hate those hair adverts -_-

  • HEXA-CORE 4 LIFE!

  • @iTzSEGA 4 months then obsolete

  • Will this fit into a AM3+ or not? if it does recomend me a motherboard plz

preferebly with SRT Tech (Smart Response Technology)

    and sli ready

  • @SuperKiraGamer2 Any AM3 will fit in an AM3+ socket. Thats why it's AM3 but with a plus

  • @SuperKiraGamer2 It will fit into an AM3+ mobo, its the same pin design and will fit and function off the bat.

  • Intel owns the Best CPU plaque

and AMD owns the Best GPU plaque

    But thats my opinion.

  • @EricCartman110001 I have an AMD gpu and an intel CPU, so yea I geuss you are right,

  • @EricCartman110001 Actually amd makes best cpu and nvidia makes best gpu

  • @rockal98 Have you looked at the Radeon 6990's graphics?

  • @EricCartman110001 please compare it with a gtx 590 on the same system, the gtx590 will outrun the 6990 by fps, as for the actual graphics, i don't think you will see much of a difference between eachother

  • Why is this proccesor not listed on the official website?

  • Hey my motherboard is a M4N68T-M LE V2. I saw a video with a guy that did some review of this motherboard and he had a x6 in it! I also have a phenom II x6 1090T but mmy motherboard will only read 2 cores!!!!!!!! Butthis guy used a x6 and he dosent speek english D:! Someone help me please i only have 2 out of 6 cores!

  • @oHaiinexD have you tryed to run it with linux once? maybe linux will detect 6 cores then u know its not a hardware problem

  • @73523 You mean linuz, like that OS? Windows, MAC, and linux? If so then no i haven't :/

  • @oHaiinexD i mean Linux OS... like ubuntu or Linux Mint. Its wirth a try

  • Can i run a this processor with a kingwin 750 watt power supply?

  • @EricXXX08 yup

  • lol i7 920 and 860 arent same price for me D: for me 1100T BE is exactly same price as i5-2500 wich should you suggest?

  • hi

is the black edition 1090t the same as the one you reviewed if not whats different. how long roughly can i run at 3.6ghz for safely on a standard fan. finally what was that processor i saw in your review with 4ghz. if i want to install a liquid fan at a later date is it an easy task.

    kind regards

  • @hikinguphigh my buddy can run his 1090t @ 3.9ghz with stock heatsink, but its better to pick up a hyper 212 for ~30

  • This guy sounds like a sales rep from AMD

  • Will this work on an ASUS Motherboard and 4GB DDR2 Memory? with Win7 64-Bit and 2 SATA HDD's ?

  • @Hamzawax

you need an AM3 socket mother board

  • @sultankraver My Mother Board got a AM3 Socket.

  • @Hamzawax

    sweet then it will

  • this and a 6870, 4 GB corsair vengeance ram, will hopefully play the master piece of battlefield 3.(if not then it will be ridiculous to get people to play B3)

  • @jackthestunner LOL if you couldn't then EA is just plain stupid, When you design a PC game you base the texture's and coding on the hardware that's already out on the market and the inevitable future products That are bound to be better than the last generation. On top of that it's bound to come out for consoles to lol and the hardware on those SUCK compared to the stuff out for PC now , Just a theory But I bet the 5850 or 6850 could play BF3 @ medium settings 40-60 fps paired with an i5+.

  • @jackthestunner Well i have this CPU, GTX 570 and 4gb ram and i cant play bad company 2 without lag and i just bought this stuffs :(

  • @oHaiinexD

That's ridiculous. GTX 570 and this CPU should run BFBC2 smooth like butter!

  • @Karoesta Yes i know :( Do you think ill be able to play play BF3 with those specs?

  • @oHaiinexD

Uhm than obviously your internet connection is the problem..

  • @NocredRS thanks :)

  • What Power Supply U. do i need?

    MSI 870S-G46 AM3 AMD

    (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333

AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition Thuban 3.2GHz

    Hard drive 250 GB:

    Interface: SATA

    Rotational Speed: 7200 RPM

SuperMulti 16X DVD(+/-)R/RW 12X RAM (+/-)R DL LightScribe SATA drive

    Geforce EVGA 9500gt

not sure if u need to know more details if so please say so.

  • @mkcsdlf I would say go for a 600 - 700 watt (not that its needed but you have to think long term) as in the future if you decide to upgrade your graphics card you wont have to worry about power problems.

  • @mkcsdlf Get something as corsair hx 650,of course only 400~430 would do the job,but if you want to do future upgrades..... ;)

  • @mkcsdlf Nvidia doesnt go good with AMD. Dont get Nvidia with AMD get ATI radeon. Nvidia goes with Intell better. Hard drive is weak too. Mine has 2TB lol...

  • @tupacole that means...the power suply that i have on this pc...500w is not so good...right?thank you for the answer

  • I've never seen a more instructive video. Congratulations!

  • @iamhotty ok,thank you,on this pc i have a 500w power suply, is this good?or i need a minimum 650w?

  • what power suply ill need for 1090t,8gb ram and hd 6950?(how many W)

  • @BigSnooop 650W is fine

  • @BigSnooop a 700W would do the job but if you are looking for a future proof investment then a 1000+ W is what u are looking for.

  • I am getting a bundle that contains this CPU and the Black edition ram. Would a 6870 or 6970 also make the dragon platform?

If not, can anyone tell me of more modern existing platforms?

  • Are all 6 cores optimized for games, especially new games like Crysis 2?

  • @killerclown789 unfortunately not. i have a phenom ii x4 965@3.4Ghz and the most usage i've seen from games is 56-63% tops! i'm talking about games like Crysis 2,Witcher 2 GTA IV and such.games need more gpu power than cpu cores,at least at the moment.

  • What program were you using to monitor the CPU temp and load

  • If they're every doing a cartoon on 30's New York paper boys I would recommend your voice.

  • If they're every doing a cartoon on old new paper boys I would recommend your voice.

  • I understood nothing, yet i watched everything

  • Are you supposed to enable Turbo Core in the BIOS or the AMD Overdrive utility???

  • Really good video. Easy explanation of all the stuff!

  • You sound like Pruane2forever.

  • I have got the Asus Crosshair 4 formula motherboard, with the X6 cpu. Could you help me to get the chip up to 4.2Ghz i have the h50 cooler with push pull configuration, thank you...

  • Time to replace my old Athlon II 64 with this. Price dropped from 210$ to 160$ :D

  • Can anyone help me? ._. I can put a 9500GT? Along with this kit

    Asus M4n68t Kit-m + Phenom X6 1090T + Kingston 4GB DDR3 1333 i know video board sucks.

  • @familiabr yeah, they'll work fine.

  • @wakeupitshere Thanks Man =D

  • @familiabr sure :)

  • WAIT FOR BULLDOZER PROCESSOR it will have built-in GPU that will beat most mid-range video cards so no need to buy no more mid-range video cards and if you use your own video card it can switch between your video card to your built-in GPU in the CPU to save on power. APU will the name CPU's with Graphics chip built-in.

  • lol These noobs asking if a 6-core processor at 3.2 GHz is good for gaming. Do some research before asking dumb questions, people.

  • @CaseyTheDrummerBoy Why dumb? i'm still getting the Intel Core i5 2500

  • @MaleBosszz I guess it's not dumb to ask, considering we all started out asking if something was good before we did some research on it. I just meant it's not hard to figure out that the 1090t is one of the top processors from AMD right now. If you do a simple search on Google asking if the 1090t is good for gaming, you'll get plenty of answers. And like I said in a preview comment, any quad-core at 2.5 GHz or more is great for gaming. I have an i5-430M in my laptop. The "i" series is great.

  • @CaseyTheDrummerBoy Okay okay but i wanna ask you something can you answer this as soon as possible is this mobo good: ASRock P67 PRO3 (B3) plz in overall stats

  • @MaleBosszz I don't know much about Intel, but reading reviews on this board, I've seen ups and downs. People say it's a great budget card, easy to overclock on. I've also seen downs; such as RAM issues, no BIOS screen, power issues. One guy recommended an ASUS board, which is what I have and I couldn't be more pleased with it. Try looking into an ASUS P8P67 Pro board. They look pretty good and majority of them have 4/5 star ratings. Only $20 to $50 more than the ASRock mobo. Hope this helped.

  • @CaseyTheDrummerBoy mid-range cpu should enough but for gaming you should focus more video card and hard drive. Cpu mid-range any and 4GB memory which bandwidth is neglectable and a Samsung HD103SJ 1TB Hard drive or OCZ vertex 3 SSD if you have the money.

  • @21boxhead I have the 1090t (ordered it yesterday), a GTX 460 SSC+, 4 GB RAM, 500 GB HDD and getting another TB soon. But yeah, since games just started using four cores, the AMD X4 965 would be better for gaming than the 6-core processors, but I also do a lot of video editing, so 6 cores was the better choice for me.

  • @CaseyTheDrummerBoy mistake buying GTX 460 you should gotten the slightly cheaper ATI HD 6850 it performs better and its pci-e 2.1 and its has 1.2 Displayport and 1.4 HDMI port as standard. more cores doesnt always mean better performance then 4 core or 2core 1090T 6core is weak and equal to intel's i7 930 which is 4core and 1100T equal to i7 950 so basically you got a 6core cpu but performance of 4core. In the end AMD has a small penis lol

  • @21boxhead I'm perfectly happy with my 460. I'm sure the 6850 could be better, but whatever. Also, again, I said I got the thuban for video editing and gaming, not just gaming. If I were going to get a CPU for gaming, I would've gotten the 975 BE. I'm not spending my money on an Intel rig. Although they outperform AMD, I can actually afford AMD's products. That last comment is your opinion. I'm done on this video, though. Lata.

  • @CaseyTheDrummerBoy ok good but you will be sorry when Bulldozer CPU comes out

  • @21boxhead Why would I be sorry? If I really wanted it, I could save up for it. But 6 cores is already enough for me right now. I'll eventually get the Bulldozer, but I'll wait until the price drops on it.

  • Run whatever you wanna run without the system lagging? The same time you say that the system laggs extremly much ! watch 7:29 to 7:35 and see the lag! I am not saying its a bad cpu its one of the best but you cant run everything at the same time without lag thats bullshit!

  • @vanweiden93 Yo, chill. You have to realize that whatever program he is using to record the screen may lag if there's too much going on. That is the program's fault, not the CPU.

  • Is this good for gaming?

  • @MaleBosszz Any quad-core CPU at 2.5 GHz or more is going to be great for gaming, so you know this can handle anything you throw at it.

  • @CaseyTheDrummerBoy its not just cpu but mainly the video card and what hard drive, memory not really as long it has 4GB is be should top notch

  • @21boxhead Well, I mean everything comes into play, but they were asking if the CPU would be good and if you have other decent parts, a quad-core CPU will be fine.

  • @MaleBosszz Gaming Rig you would need not just a good cpu but also a good video card and hard drive

  • @21boxhead Your talking about the motherboard right okay thanks man no worries :D

  • why use the Turbo-thingy when you can just overclock it to 4 ghz? :P

  • @MouthofSaurons That "Turbo-thingy" is overclocking but only overclocks a bit so manual overclocking should be needed to get more

  • I just built a new computer and managed to get this processor for $179 CDN :)

  • @Shaftell plus tax?

  • Great vid, thanks!

  • For gaming exclusively, an overclocked 965 quad core would probably be a better choice. The 1090T has the same amount of cache but two more cores, which leaves less cache per each core, and it only ranks so slightly above the 965 in benchmarks across the net. Plus, no current applications make use of that many cores. If you're like me and you do a lot of graphics editing and video conversions you will benefit from the 1090T, but the gaming will suffer slightly. Intel i7 FTW. Hyperthreading wins

  • @wc4pwned Hyperthreading is actually known to slow down applications.

  • @wc4pwned any mid-range and up CPU is good enough for gaming but

you are just talking out your ass. LOL

  • @21boxhead Yeah, I'm talking out of my ass. I guess cache doesn't matter at all. Come back next year and try saying that. It's about future-proofing dumbass.

  • @wc4pwned i never said anything about cache and it seems that you just contradicted yourself about hyper-threading and about "Future-proofing" LOL non-sense 1year from now they will come up with even better processor whoever believe in it is an idiot.

  • @21boxhead Sure you didn't say anything about cache, which shows some of your stupidity. Each core must share from the L3 cache. If you have more cores and the same amount of cache, it leaves less cache per core. The cache will affect memory access times with frequently recurring addresses. If you're multitasking with more cores and less cache, the L3 cache will get eaten alive. Some people want to buy something now that will LAST, not buy something new every year, dumbfuck.

  • @wc4pwned any mid-range cpu is good enough to handle games and about something that "LAST" well thats pretty much the all cpu's will last a long time, just that your fool who falls for all the gimmicks.

Yeah I agree this cpu is short on cache.

  • GOD DAMMIT PEOPLE! PHENOM IS GOOD FOR GAMING!

  • Is this good 4 gaming?

  • I WUFF AMD...!!!

  • I just found one of these on a website for $115, but I just had to spend my money on a stupid iPod... FML.

  • @chris4268 please tell me the website =)

  • Can it play Crysis?

  • @SirSexyAlot With the right gpu and a decent compatible mobo, definately.

  • @SirSexyAlot yes i have it.

  • I FELL IN LOVE..... WITH A PROCESSOR :|

  • the only reason i don't subscribe is cause of all the ads on the videos

  • Is this good gaming cpu ?

  • @dumbasshit123 its an amazing gaming cpu

  • @dumbasshit123 It's amazing for gaming, I bought this bundled with the M4a89gtd pro motherboard for only 350$ Paired with a radeon 2g ddr 6950 video card. I run any game max WITH mods over 50 frames underclocked.

  • @SilkyMuggs radeon 2g ddr5 6950*

  • Woot for 1090t 4GHz on 60$ air cooler probably the best mid budget cpu out there, this or one of those nifty 2500/2600k's, this is still cheaper though! go AMD!

  • in germany it does actually only cost 231,51$ isnt that awesome^^??!!!!

  • @crydepunkmuffin in finland it costs 199e wtf i thought everything is ALOT cheaper in germany:D dont know whats that in dollars thoough

  • @ahahahahahahahahaa

u could use the dollar to e translator^^

if u mein €with e that that means that it costs 290,1$ in finland :P i won :D

  • @crydepunkmuffin i was too lazy and i thought $ and € are roughly the same xD fail..:(

  • @crydepunkmuffin Right now it cost $200 in the US lol

  • What voltage did you use to overclock it to 4Ghz? because i have got the same board with the H50 cooler with 2 fans in push pull configuration.

  • do i need to buy better cooling then the one that follows the box?

  • @TheRogueMonk only if you want a quieter system or want to overclock

  • @aranlikesskateboard what i dont understand what your saying.. what is the difference between 1090t and 110t is hte 40 buks differenfe worth the price raise?

  • @TheRogueMonk its not worth the price it only has 100mhz higher core clock which you can get easily from overclocking

  • @aranlikesskateboard but then i would need a better fan right then the stock?

also i wonder if youcould get better clocking with the 110t or just not as much either?

can you show me a url showing me proper cooling equipment for overclocking?

bwt is it safe to clcok my currrent amd processor wiht stock fans for some minutes like 30 to one hour? and play game? to test its clock ?
