  • Very annoying wind noise and mic noise, very unprofessional. As well the comparison is very confusing. Try again.

  • I have a 2011 aprilia mana gt AWESOME MACHINE..........

  • What the "vs." for absolutelly different motorcycles? Total lame.

  • I'm going to add to the chorus here:

An auto 'box does not make a motorcycle a "scooter".

Generally, I find regular reviews by owners more interesting than the 'pro' efforts. They have access to all the new bikes but considering they *get paid to do this* their videos just don't do it for me.

  • If you think the only difference between a scooter and a motorcycle is automatic vs standard transmission you're in the wrong business. And they are not "toy" motorcycles...however...you are a toy reviewer.

  • great aprilia mana bike. italians know how to make bikes^^*

  • l'aprilia a l'air d'etre formidable (automatique) mais elle est horrible !!!! sa tete de fourche est a chier....la DN01 est 10000 fois plus belle.

  • @cynic150

Hate to tell you buddy, but it *is* a scooter engine, right out of the Gilera GP 800. Look it up. It does NOT have a normal motorcycle gearbox at all. It is NOT a hydraulically controlled manual transmission like you might find in the Honda VFR1200F or BMW M3 sportscar. This is a CVT tranny, continuously variable. The 7spd option just selects 7 'virtual' ratios. That said, I respect what Aprilia has done here, and I bought a 2010 Mana GT, to compliment my Dr. Jeckyl-like Aprilia Tuono.

  • I think Aprilia would be offended by your description of their Mana:-

    1) it is NOT a scooter engine.

    2) It has a normal motorcycle gear-box.

    3) The gear ratios do not alter the power as you say, but the gears shift at differing speeds.

  • not both cvts or automatics

    apples and oranges

  • He keeps saying "scooter type engine" in the Mana. Has he even looked at it? It's a 90 degree V, a motorcycle engine in every sense, and it's a chain drive. The only thing scooter-like is that you don't have to shift. This guy should study a scooter to see how it's put together -- it's not even similar. The Mana is an 850cc motorcycle with an advanced transmission -- kind of like what BMW and Jaguar put in their higher-end cars these days. This "scooter" business is getting boring.

  • sorry bigjoerup but no idea mate. The mana rocks and you can shift as much as you want. Check it out before you criticise it mate. I've had one for two years and its brilliant.

  • BigJoe you know the new 2010 VFR1200F is a six speed automatic? Such systems have been around for quite a while in racing cars. New technology! Also the computers can shift better than us humans.

  • If I get a motorcycle, I want a damn motorcycle. No shifting = not a motorcycle. end of story

  • Your manly transmission impresses us all, sir.

  • @BigJoeRup You can still shift on the Mana, it has an option to change to a 7-speed manual shifting mode.

  • @BigJoeRup Also both Honda and Aprilia have identified that the motorcycle market has been in decline because the technophonic old men who love their old harley (the category I imagine you fall into) are too getting too old to ride. Motorcycles like the VFR1200 and Mana are intended to make riding more accessible to new riders. People don't want to drive manual transmission because the idea that you need three different inputs (throttle, clutch, gear shift) to control your speed is preposterous.

  • @BigJoeRup The history of motorcicle advanced trasmissions is just beginning. And you are going to stay in the past.

  • Brrrr

  • Nice Drum and Bass cuts for the intro.

  • honda looks ugly man

  • Aprilia gets my vote.
