yeah i still own it. its a 144 street blower on a mild small block, 12 psi. truck now sits on dana 60 and 14 full floater. 4:56 gears and a few more inches of lift.

i had a 65 gmc same color.. had a 350.. was in the process of putting a better rear end in.. the one it had was so lowed geared it would pull anything in granny low but wouldnt go over 50-55 mph... but man she sounded pretty.. biggest mistake i made was sellin it...

@C0PENHAGENC0WB0Y The factory rears in all of those 60-66 model trucks if they were an original I-6, or as in a GMC a V6, were 4.11 geared. I have an original 4.11 reared 66 Chevy with a 250 I-6 and have had it upwards of 85 mph w/no problem.

Its a small block with a 142 street blower and 3:73 gears. I've since changed it to a 1 ton chassis with 4:56 gears an a 402 bog block .30 over. Thanks to those who liked it. And thanks to Petersons 4x4 magazine for featuring my old girl.

Awesome man! I'm working on a 1970 Chevy 4x4 right now. The dipshit I bought it from let everything else on it go to hell, the body was all falling apart, it needed all kinds of mechanical work (except, surprisingly for the front axle and gear box, ext..) ... but he put a brand new set of 33 inch offroad mud tires on it 8-) I got the whole truck for $600 ... I'll eventually get around to posting a youtube video of it

Actually a powerstroke or duramax would rape a cummins, because as of now the powerstroke and duramax both make more power than the cummins. Cummins is the low man on the todem pole, and you can kiss them goodbye anyways, as their contract with dodge will be up soon. So you will have a nice "Fiat" diesel to play around with.
