@RVBOY2 It was...they changed it in 1975..due to the Comedy cop  Show" Barney Miller"..the storyline on Hiller/Miller..is unknown..but in the "Showdown" Goldman mentions four people have this"expensive"operation..so it is presumed that he died before 1989.

@Superbatfan,  His name was originally Barney Miller in the first episode he appeared. in the second episode when he returned they changed his last name...do to the fact Hal Linden's Show Barney Miller by that time was on the air. so the Producers of Six Million Dollar Man were afraid they would get sued over copy right issues so they just changed his last name.

Barney was actually the first bionic man, not the second. Steve was the 2nd... only difference was Steve had one arm and a eye and Barney just had both legs and both arms.

Steve is a spiecal guy it seems only he was able to handle being bionic with out problems other then learning to use them. Jamie, Barney and the Bionic boy all had problems adjusting to useing bionics.

A suggestion, in the race car sequence, you could include hiller saying in V/O, let me tell you what real value is, when I was a race car driver I won it all, Indy, La Mans, everything... that provides context. Incidentally, when Majors waled off the set, they were really thinking about redesigning the SMDM around the Hiller character.

Pure genius. I definently would've watched it lol. Saw an episode of DS9, where this actor turns up many decades later and thought 'hey isn't that the 7million dollar man?', so googled videos, and whadya know, straight to this web page lol. Only the internet can do this. The bionic internet!

@nickeysgreat Thank you for the compliment! I tried to maintain consistency with the original Six Million Dollar Man introduction. I used clips from the episodes "The Seven Million Dollar Man" and "Bionic Criminal". The beginning Indianapolis 500 crash is actual footage that coincidentally occurred in May 1973; the same month Barney supposedly had his near fatal crash.
