I want to study electrical engineering. My friends back east say UCLA isn't that well respected in science and engineering (compared with USC), but I like the UCLA campus and the rose bowl. As far as public universities in California, I suspect UC-Berkeley would be the place to go for this field.

I want to study electrical engineering. My friends back east say UCLA isn't that well respected in science and engineering (compared with USC), but I like the UCLA campus and the rose bowl. As far as public universities in California, I suspect UC-Berkeley would be the place to go for this field.

I'd rather pay cheaper tuition at a school with higher academic rankings, with a campus located in a well to do, SAFE, desirable neighborhood, than to have to pay nearly four times the tuition (if in-state) just to attend a slightly less academically competitive school, with a campus in less than desirable, SOUTH Los Angeles.
