I am working on my Physics degree and I think I have a good chance of making a living by blinding a few religious people with concepts they can't understand and say "it scientifically supports god".
Probably make more money than if I were to actually conduct real research.
@Itstheclaw ....keep working.......... The thing you miss is God. He does not need your ok for Him to be right. Jesus said 'whatsoever things you believe, you will have' and 'speak to the mountain'...and so much more............So continue disbelieving, including in yourself, and see just how short you will come to fulfilling your dreams.......... Why are you getting a 'physics degree'? You believe in yourself.....you will only go as far as yourself...........there is much more.......
the photoelectric effect involves metals, which are bound by an electron cloud, the electrons thereby being easily displaced. there IS NO photoelectric effect on a rock. or your desk. or your toothbrush. this shyster is no more a physicist than rosie o'donnell . . .
@TheRahj The photoelectric effect is a phenomenon in which electrons are emitted from matter (metals and non-metallic solids, liquids or gases) as a consequence of their absorption of energy from electromagnetic radiation of very short wavelength, such as visible or ultraviolet light. - Wikipedia.....At this point you are arguing with an encyclopedia
wikipedia is NOT an encycopedia. go to links relative to the u.s. department of energy, links specific to information. or, see same information on such sites as scientific american or the james randi educational fund (the skeptical inquirer). the energy available in naturally occurring photons will not displace electrons from non-metals (or metallic alloys) in a discernible fashion. one CAN get the effect from high energy rays such as x-rays.
@TheRahj whether it qualifies as a real encyclopedia or not, the statement is correct. i agree with your latter statement. i just wanted to get the record straight for your original comment
or consider these simple suggestions. red light creates no photoelectric effect whatsoever, regardless of light intensity. according to the premise god uses 'stuff' imprinted via the photoelectric effect with your thoughts, words, deeds to discern said actions, one need merely red-filter one's home in order to hide from god.
or, if as suggested, the perfect example of proof of the contention is the memory stored on a dvd, i suggest you place a blank dvd on a table in front of you and all your friends. engage in an hour of praise to god (or sex with sheep), then put the dvd in the dvd player (a device built specifically to retrieve info from this specific source), and you will find the disc to be . . . blank
@TheRahj He doesn't mean the pits on a disk. He says later that the 'photon in electron out' effect causes memory to happen on the quantum level--something of the photon is stored, maybe even for increments as small as Planks' law will allow. Thumb drives are just an example of data storage getting smaller. You should also research holographic memory, and the sum of many adding to resolution of a hologram. Metal is better because the electrons are free, thus better creating a whole, easier read.
the bible is nonsense... get real. You have to be dumb to believe folklore about a man that floats on water. Most popular book ever published which created billion dollar industries with no taxes and people still don't question. Stupid Stupid Stupid
@taylorprocker ... The Bible is true.. and real... Those things that were prophecied thousands of years ago are now coming to pass... ALL those things in the BIBLE are DOCUMENTED as true HISTORY.. No one Cannot deny true HISTORY.. even evidence of things from in the bible Mentioned have been found. Scientists everyday are always looking and finding... do alitlle more research before you decide NOT to believe.. just cuz you think its NONsense
Yes, your right. The Bible hasn't changed. It still reliably insights people into genocide, psychosis and murder as consistently as it did hundreds of years ago. At least you were right about one thing, look on the bright side. If you think the rest of us are too blind to notice, try opening your eyes to whats happening in the world around you.
science has completely debunked the bible. science now declares everything is energy, that we all have an equal connection to the divine and the last thing we need is some twisted middleman vicar lusting after material wealth to teach us yet more lies from the bible. the bible was written by people 100's of years after jesus's death who knew little of what actually happened, they 'cut and pasted' the whole thing together just to appease the people and render them into useless brain-washed slaves
@crispin007 That would be an almost remotely legitimate argument if you had any idea what you were talking about, but since it is plainly obvious you have less than no clue, you can stfu. For the record scientists say one thing one year and something completely the opposite the next. Whereas the Bible hasn't changed (aside from new translations) and is still the truth.
@crispin007 BTW, have you ever even read the Bible? Or did you just "cut and paste" Your arguments? The books in the New Testament were written by Paul, or by people who WITNESSED Jesus' teachings. See what happens when you don't cut and paste? You actually sound like you know what you're talking about!
@crispin007 You're right that we do have an equal connection with the divine but you're entire statement is wrong because according to the Bible the only middleman between God and man is Yahshua, not any vicar. Plus, the Bible also teaches that lusting after material wealth especially at the expense of others is evil. The distinction between laity and clergy is crock and unbiblical.
Sweet.
