  • PhysX are only for NVIDIA So i recommend you NVIDIA Not ATI

  • Yeah i paly this game with full grafiks an 4x anti alising its a great feeling

  • lol poor soldier at the end

  • awasome graphix

  • If they change the theme in the second game I am going to cry lol.. it seriously is the main reason I wanted to get the original in the first place.. and it still makes me want to play the game every time I hear it.

  • god damn nvidia, i have ati 4980 :@

  • 4890 sorry ^^

  • lol i have nvida 8890

  • if you have another PCI-E slot, get an Nvidia 8800/9000/200 series card, you can use physX like that actually. Or you can get a PhysX card... Then again I don't know if they sell those any longer.

  • If you don't have a PhysX capable card, there's a setting that will allow the processing power of PhysX to run on the CPU instead of the GPU.

  • really? where is that?

  • It's because the PS3 is too old and outdated to use PhysX on it's GPU.PhysX came with the Nvidia Geforce 8 Series, the PS3 is using a card from the 7 series.

  • the song is called "still alive" (Junkie Mix) :)

  • what is the song?

  • what is the song ?

  • Comment removed

  • It's a remix of Lisa Miskovsky's "still alive" by Junkie XL. Comes with the PC version on a separate CD - well, mine did at least.

  • physx ftw ! Mirrors edge beatiful game !

  • ATI is SHIT!

    And

    Nvidia the future!

  • 1:20 that's just freakin amazing. Can't wait to see how far this goes when updated.

  • is it possible you don't have all of these things on ps3?? never saw such things

  • Yes,Ps3 and 360 are hunk-less junks of shite that can't handle it.

  • you are the hunk-less junks of shite....PS3 and 360 has physx support dumbass

  • Barely.

  • full support, check google

  • that must be why R6V2 has doors that break apart in a scripted fashion??

Or maybe its why gears of war has nothing that's really destructible at all??

Devs can slap the Ageia logo on console games all thy want but the fact is they are very limited by hardware.

  • its up to the devs to use physx or not....

  • PhysX has a software and hardware mode.

The physics being demonstrated in this video are from hardware acceleration, consoles do not support hardware acceleration of physics on the GPU; and hence can only use the software mode.

PhysX under software mode is just like any other physics engine, it doesn't offer high level physics like is being demonstrated in this video.

Even if they did support it; hardware physics comes at the cost of GPU performance. Consoles do not have spare of GPU power.

  • DAAAMN ati cards cant have physx :( thats the one i have

  • You can still run Physx with an ATI card, but the processing required to run Physx will be run on the CPU instead of the GPU.

  • so i have intel dual core 2.4 GHz and do you think i will handle physx with normal fps?

  • I can handle Physx with an AMD dual core at 1.6GHz no problem, so it should run fine.

  • more lies plz

  • ok but Ati has its own physics so yeah... Ati just allows u to run games at better framerates. Nvidia enhances the gameplay with super ultra realistic physics and run at good rates.

  • Well, allegedly, although in the two years since PhysX appeared, I've not seen any proof of it! Both parties may well adopt Apple's OpenCL when it arrives in Windows 7 however.

  • I love to see "cloth" ingame

  • who's is this version of the theme song?

  • guys i need help on this...i have ENGTX260,AMD Phenom 9550 and 4 gigs of ram and all other stuff are the best ones i could find...i can run all games on max settings with no lagg but when i turn physx on it laggs to much...can u plz tell me why?

  • because amd is a piece of junk

  • hey dick wad, its not i can run mirros edge fine with only 2 gigs ram and a 9400gt graphics card on amd with phsyx enabled...

  • lol your rig suxx

  • well i never.! xD idc as long as i can play

  • An 8800 can probably run this.

  • update mirrors edge to 1.01

  • Ive got Nvidia Ge force 9600 and it runs very smooth even with physicx on.. awesome

  • Thats fucking cool, but fucking lame also when I have HD4870 on my PC and it runs 5fps when PhysX enabled even when lowest settings... When disable it runs veery smooth with highest.

  • thats because ati cards don't support physx

  • try the latest patch and...whats your CPU?

  • i would still recommend playing this with a "gamepad" or what console style controllers are called for pc

  • i've already beat the game

  • the stuff that the nvidia card supports for pc cud hav been on the console version but game developers just want to get their games out as soon as just to make money. its the little thing, lik wot u see in this, that make a gud game great.

  • Bunch is helping you!

Song (exactly): "Mirror's Edge Soundtrack - Still Alive (Junkie XL remix)"

Because there is a lot of remix in the Internet. That is exactly it!

  • is this what the phyisics are like already in the game or do u have to download it cos im getin dis for ps3

  • no this is only for pc and the physics are diffrent on the consoles

  • Oh my god, do you know ANYTHING about computers?

  • uh how did i enter the comment in the first place if i didnt know anythin about computers. XD

  • lol

  • mirrors edge soundtrack is AMAZING!

  • r the graphics like this for ps3 and 360 or is it only gonna look like that on pc. tempted to buy for ps3 or 360 but if its like that only on pc i might opt for pc. plz sum1 tell me. '_'

  • PhysX is for the PC only. You need a NVIDIA card that supports it.

  • o that suks. dont think my computer has that. bet its expensive to.

  • One word... UPGRADE!!!

  • its on consoles now

  • Only on pc. And only if you have nvidia.

  • Yes. You must have 8 series of nvidia graphic cards or higher with stream processors.

  • never mind peeps i got it for ps3 today. 25 quid BRAND NEW. just awesome.

  • actually at the start of the video you can read "requires 9800GTX+ or newer"

  • Now i see it. THX for information. 9800 is still nearly 8800. I see only few differences. 9800 is newer and support open glide 2.1. Performance is similar.

  • hmm...i have 8800gt and i run the game with physx no problem...last i checked physx support all 8000+ cards...

  • Yes. I say it before i play this game. With 8800 no problem but when I have physX enabled, game crash and Im in windows. I read it at some forum. they recommend patch but its not working form me anyway. Game is awesome.

  • yeah i had the problem of game crashing before the patch but after not anymore...but for some reason i had to set the program to xp service pack 2 compatibility mode...or else it would crash on start up

  • its a rebadged 8800

  • Lo unico q he visto de disque physicas son las putas banderas q para no tiene nada de fisica seria mejor la destruccion de edificios no les parece

  • it's the Junkie remix

  • It's....

    beautiful (°o°)

  • it's Lisa Miskovsky - Still Alive

  • amazing..

    name of the song plz?

  • the song is an other version of the main theme?

  • Anybody knows the name of the song ?

  • i think it is the frostbite engine that DICE developed themselves:)

  • It's Unreal Engine 3, the Frostbite engine wasn't completed in time for this project. Unreal Engine 3 is the only widely-used engine with PhysX support.

  • It is Unreal Engine 3 but IIRC the lighting systems were severely altered, that's why it doesn't look like other UE3 games.

  • nice, all the effects of physx in on video. until now they were spread in like thousand dull demos.

  • looks amazin

  • lol at the amd fanboy comment,b.t.w. didn't Nvidia first invent the GPU?

  • i dnt think so, they created thier first gpu in like 1995. ATI was founded before nvidia (1985 ish) was so i think ATI was 1st; but there were alot of other companies at the time like 3dfx who dominated the market in the 1990's. But nvida turned it all around comming out with awesome gpu's like RIVA 128 in 1997; which was best at the time and made them really popular. nvida beat all at that time and became on top =)

  • neat, thanks for the history lesson lol

  • in ways yes. they were the first to use the name GPU back when they made the first GeForce (its name was GeForce 256)

graphics processors had existed before that, but nvidia wanted to make it more special and named it GPU for Graphics Processing Unit

  • did you ever heard of voodoo??

  • Yaay poor AMD fanboys :(

  • A great trailer. At first I didn't care for this game, but every video I see of it is so coherent, you just have to get interested in it.

I would also like to know the name of the song.

  • Does anybody know the song ?

  • It seems to be "Still Alive" by Lisa Miskovsky.

  • Thanks !

  • I heard it would be the Unreal 3 engine but it seems that i'm not informed right...

  • No, it is.

  • It IS Unreal Engine 3

  • Awesome physics !

  • @LingLing

...first ATI must have PhysX Support...

  • nice technology. Hope it will run on Radeon as well and as well :-D

  • very nice .. it's true 720p! & it shows CUDA-GPUs working.
