It's not middle ages, it's not the same line of thinking as birkas and vaginal mutilation, it's a doctor's right to freely express his religious beliefs, and deny medical care to those who should do everything to prevent getting sick, and they haven't. They should NOT have premarital sex, that's the remedy, so if a doctor refuses care, he is sending a message "What is the real cause of cervical cancer?" - it's hpv, and you get it by having premarital sex.
I agree with you completely, but want to clarify that not all Canadian doctors are doing this, only a select few that made the news. As a young Canadian woman I have never encountered this situation. Its appauling that some doctors have chosen this and perpetuated treatment biases. Even research in sexual dysfunction (eg.Viagra) is blinded by phallocentrism. Because women (by nature of course!)aren't supposed to be sexual, there is no interest in developing drugs for female sexual dysfunction.

I agree. I live in Canada. The doctors do NOT do this. Every doctor can refuse to give medicine, but Canadian doctors do not do that, it is a lie.
