because daigo's fireballs aren't as easily predictable as u think they are. I'll admit that this blanka player was a little hesitant but look at the very first thing to happen in this match. blanka slides, ryu punishes. yeah you can slide under every fireball but if u guess wrong, ur gonna eat a big huge combo. The blanka player really has to know when he's gonna fireball, he cant just slide whenever he thinks he will. same with EX ball.

Is it just me or could the guy playing Blanka used a lot of diagonal rolls to get out of the corner and as a counter to all the fireball spamming Daigo was throwing at him? Would that have been a way out of that situation?

Yep. Blanka's ultra could have chipped him easily, but it requires a charge. So if you stay max and keep jumping back, only way he'l get it off is at full screen which is easy to avoid. The jump kicks were to stuff a full screen ball.

Now the blanka could have been smart and try to let daigo jump into the corner then go for a charge...
