@Ceejayanthirium thank you i have been working hard on these projects. it feels good to talk about things that so many people rarely ever discuss that i feel are so important
"Out of Many One People", many races and ethnic backgrounds came to Jamaica and became One. Thats how i see it. It wasnt just Africans who came during slavery time.
@ForgottenFaces001 you should do Jamaican Indian,Irish, Scottish, Portuguese, Spanish, English and the real Jamaican with is our Arawak.the black Jamaican is mixed with the Arawak Indian.
@venessa32 i m trying to cover all the different groups that i can that came to Jamaica but this is a very costly thing i am doing and it takes much time. it would be a big help if you could donate to my fiscal sponsor their is a link in the description box if your interested.
@missexi718 yes this is a fact and there are some documentaries about some of the chinese communities in panama, south africa, trinidad, i think that this project has been the most in depth on the Jamaican chinese ever.
@leaspayne i am attempting to represent all different ethnic groups and the history they have contributed to Jamaica but this is not a easy task and i am but one man. to help this kind of work continue a contribution to my fiscal sponsorship would be of great help.
@ForgottenFaces001 - Have you seen other East Asian groups such as Japanese and Koreans in Jamaica? I read on Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs that the number of Japanese residents living in Jamaica are around 158 to 183. Years ago thought Junko Kudō was Jamaican until she said she's Japanese. Kudō dance just like a Jamaican.
@DaBigSun i do not know any of the korean or Japanese community in jamaica I KNOW MOSTLY PEOPLE of Chinese and east indian background. the Japanese i run into are tourists
@Erks3000 i admit there is much more to discuss and there will be more on the next segment that deals with chinese Jamaican history. i should have it uploaded very soon
@DaBigSun there was a china town in the past and to this day in kingston there is a very small section that is considered china town and montego bay has a small strip that is considered a china town as well. but no the chinese do not have multiple china towns mainly because the chinese population is to small.
good stuff your doing man, very interesting
