I love all the vintage Dr. Seuss cartoons. By contrast I do not like any of the "updated" renditions, live action or animated. One of the few that were not forbidden was children's book writing, so he did this. Also, he began writing them after he found out that his wife, Helen, could not bear children. - a stranger walks into their house and wants to "play" with them

Classic. I used to have this story memorized when I was a little kid. I loved all of Dr. Seuss' stories, and I remember getting read, and sometimes sang to, by my mom. In many ways they were great times.
