  • I loved it when I was a baby my mom used to put it on so I could watch ! :)

  • OMG! I so remember this! I haven't this since I was a little girl! Memories

  • This is a bit too slow, lingers too long on the same joke, too much extraneous dialogue... too much Chuck Jones. Friz Freleng should have been in charge. He made the Pink Panther, he would have done Cat in the Hat perfect.

  • Dr Seuss Classic

  • piss off you prick get a life a than some

  • Allan Sherman > Mike Myers/Rosie O'Donnell/any other Cat wannabe whose presence wasn't sanctioned by The Doctor.

  • good

  • "SOMEBODY STOLE MY MOSS COVERED THREE HANDLED FAMILY GRADUNZA" TOOOOOO FUNNY!!!!!!

  • "Carlos K. Crinklbine" That kills me everytime.

  • I love all the vintage Dr. Seuss cartoons. By contrast I do not like any of the "updated" renditions, live action or animated. None of them capture whatever that thing was that made Dr. Suess story telling so unique. That said, I agree with Mr. Crincklbine.... That cat ought not be there when the mother is out LOL.

  • We're putting on Seussical @ my school and one of my friends is the Cat in the Hat, so in math, he's always like, "SOMEONE STOLE MY MOSS COVERED THREE HANDLED FAMILY GRUDUNZA! "(however it's spelled.) he just keeps reciting lines from it! XD

  • So who else got REALLY excited when it said Chuck Jones?

  • thumbs up if nice peter brought you here

  • baby video

  • @PriscillaFreitasS2 The object appears to be fictional... It's not real. He just wants an excuse to get back into the house and have fun causing mischief and trouble.... Krinclebine suspects it but is not totally sure it's a scam...so he plays along hoping to eventually get rid of the cat. Bad Cat...

  • for the first second i thought it was a scam

  • lol the fish is suposde to live with the cat when on tv its so diffrent

  • lol the fish is the narrator from tht old batman series with adam west :P

  • Makes sense that a fish would hate a cat

  • lol I guess these kids were completely cool with a giant cat letting himself in the house.

  • I love this the cat in the hat. I saw this in third grade. Childhood memories.......

  • @Damegon No problem, haha. Kiki sort of pissed me off.

  • @kikiRox123 @Damogen Please, kiki, attempt to stop being so stereotypical and quit assuming things. Think before you speak. Thanks, Damogen, for trying to stifle this babbling buffoon.

    Thanks for reading it all.

    -Trey

  • @treymason wow, quite an elaborate answer... too bad you spent more time on geometry than Dr. Seuss. However, thumbs up for spreading the love for Dr. Seuss :)

  • @kikiRox123 @Damogen However, saying that all rectangles are squares is invalid, because there are infinite examples of rectangles that do not fit the restrictions of squares. You saying that Dr. Seuss, or any children's book author, is a pedophile is like saying that any rectangle is a square just because some of the things are the same between rectangles and squares.

  • @kikiRox123 @Damogen would know that rectangles are quadrilaterals, four-sided polygons, where parallel sides are equal in length, and all four angles are 90 degrees a piece. Squares are quadrilaterals with four 90 degree angles and four sides with the same length. Since all of the sides are the same, obviously parallel sides are the same. Therefore, one could say that all squares are also rectangles.

  • @kikiRox123 @Damogen He made children of the world happy in the place of having kids of his own to make happy. So, he was not a pedophile. Secondly, kiki, you saying that he is a pedophile simply due to a couple of things that tend to be common among pedophiles is like saying that all rectangles are squares. Anybody who has gone through middle school education and remembers anything from it, (which I would not hold you to, because you already don't come off as intelligent),

  • @kikiRox123 @Damogen The first is that he had a contract with another company, for which he drew cartoons for a product, that said he could not write for many other types of different writing. One of the few that were not forbidden was children's book writing, so he did this. Also, he began writing them after he found out that his wife, Helen, could not bear children. There was a void that was there in him, and this was an outlet that he could use to fill the void.

  • @kikiRox123 and @Damogen

To the both of you, I must say that I completely agree with Damogen. I'll start of with speaking specifically about Dr. Seuss (Theodor "Ted" Geisel). I'm doing a report on him right now, so all of the information that I am going to refer to I have read in the past 3 weeks, so you can find it easily to see if I am lying, which I am not. Theodor started writing for children for 2 reasons. My argument is continued in my next comment.

  • i love old shows

  • That cat was quite a douche.

  • @Damogen Thats not true at all.. if you would take the time to actually watch this with further insight than you would realize the message it is sending. But your just completely oblivious to it since it is obvious that your taken over by childhood innocence. Children that watch Dr. Seuss do not notice the immoral side of this "innocent fun." Writers add this type of insolence into childhood shows to practically brainwash children.

  • @kikiRox123

the metaphor behind the story is that childrens imagination can make change a dull day into a lot of fun. Which is also clearly shown in the end where all the mess magically wanishes when their mother comes home.

your argument about the imaginary cat being a pedophile, because he refuses to leave when asked to, is simply bullshit. Which you then try to back up with a vague reference to unnamed "writers" who have a conspiracy going in order to brainwash kids.

  • @kikiRox123

    @kikiRox123

and just to illustrate how valid your type of argument is.

the cat tries to convince the kids that his games are fun, pedophiles try to convince kids that there games are fun. ERGO the cat is a pedophile.

pedophiles writes to strangers on the internet, kikiRox123 writes to strangers on the internet, ERGO KikiRox123 is a pedophile

  • @Damogen i believe you started talking to me first. Would you not be considered the "stranger"? ERGO you are a pedophile? I've just been doing some research on child psychology and what WRITERS and producers would put in children's innocent shows and books. Dr. Seuss came up as having a lot of "hidden" messages. Disney is also full of shit on that topic. Neither you or the other fellow need to get so hyped up for no reason. I have my opinion and you have yours. I too loved this story.

  • @kikiRox123 Yes, we have different oppinions, and the only reason I am arguing with you is that I am trying to prevent you from spreading the misconception that all children book authors (and everyone else for that matter) are evil pedophiles. If you have really been researching child psychology, then you are only confirming the idea that according to modern psychology, everyone has a mental illness and cannot live without the aid of psychologists.

  • @kikiRox123 I think that there is another criteria for being a pedophile other than those you mention. See if you can think of it. Oh and I should also point out that these stories are metaphors, you massive idiot.

  • @jmngll BAHAHAAH alright there pal.. please explain to me the metaphor behind this Dr. Seuss tale shall you?

  • I have this on VHS! lol

  • 3 people are outrAAAGeous!

  • Shit shit ande more shit, my friend has to force me to watch this.

  • i loved this show as a kid :)

  • lol i don't know why, but i always mess kids in black ops and i scream CAT IN THE HAT!!! it's just my motto!! or, im a cat, do u wanna play CAT IN THE HAT!?!? lol

  • after re-watching this now

the meaning behind this "innocent" Dr. Seuss story is simply disturbing.

    - the mother leaves the children by themselves, and doesnt lock the door

    - a stranger walks into their house and wants to "play" with them

    - the fish being the only one with a conscious tries to get him out for he knows that the children's mother is not home.

    - the cat tries to convince them that his games are "fun" when the children know he is making a "mess"

the cat is simply a pedophile

  • @kikiRox123 Amazing how someone always has to try and ruin fun things.

The cat in the hat is pure and innocent fun, and anyone who thinks otherwise has a mind that pollutes.

  • Classic. I used to have this story memorized when I was a little kid. I loved all of Dr. Seuss' stories, and I remember getting read, and sometimes sang to, by my mom. In many ways they were great times.

On a slightly more random note, I'd love to see a version of The Cat in the Hat where Conrad and Sally are teenagers. Sure the cat can use his great machine to clean up his mess, but how are you gonna sober them up?

  • he wiped his feet on the mat, but didn't bother to close the door when it was raining...

  • @SuperJaKennedy I didn't even notice!!!!!!! WOW! Hehe...

  • cut off. thats why cut off prevention is awesome

  • tybdhhyh

  • i remember when i was little we kept a videotape of this at a small house on kentucky lake that we owned. we sold that house when i was 7 years old. this brings back great memories of being there

  • CAT in the hat i s f un ny hahahahahahah

  • Calculatus WHAT?!

  • 1:16 Their mother is invisible!

  • Why does every dr. Seuss character have to be retarded?

  • I love the fishes name! lol But I think its bowl should have been bigger..

  • this is crazy this is the weirdest shit! The cat breaks into a house with home alone children and manipulates them into staying I can't believe people showed this to their kids

  • 3:10 = I know your mother won't mind if i do and i am just itching to show you...

    perve much?

  • like if you saw the "new version", the one with Mike Myers :D

  • The music that sounds when the cat in the hat enter into the house reminds me a lot of the music that played in Chuck Jone's Tom and Jerry cartoons!!

  • I would've thought I was trppin' balls if I met a six foot cat, a talking fish, and Thing 1 and Thing 2.

  • So let's catalog the events here: he waits until their parents leave and walks in, naked as a jaywalker (well, except for the hat), until he's invited to leave. Then he walks back in, refusing to leave again until his family 'gridunza' is recovered. He coerces the children into helping him flip the place, leaves a huge mess and speaks in nonsense the whole time.

And people are seriously down on the grinch?

  • is klaus from american dad

  • that cat is a retard. the sun IS still sunny, you just can't see it. dumbass.

  • i didn't know that kids know about a *** in that age...

    -is bigger then a----

  • Dr. Seuss + Chuck Jones + Friz Freling = FTW

  • i woulda craped myself if a giant cat walked into my house...

  • i remember watching this when i was a little kid.

  • my bro loves this i put it on all the time

  • So the Cat in the Hat just brakes in there home to play games with kids that he doesn't even know (child Molester)

  • @amado1130 thats kinda what i always thought evin when i was in grade school

  • "Back home at 3:30?" She said she'd be back at 3 sharp lol

  • My aunt had this on VHS and I used to watch this over and over when I became bored. :)

  • This is my all time favorite cartoon movie!!!

  • Who needs Mike Meyers? Allen Sherman is a beast!

  • @whitegeek1024 Mike Meyers is good at Austin Powers and Shrek but not this.

  • bad ass good gob
