  • estoi casado de buscar y buscar Alguien que sepa .bueno tengo todoa esto en nel usb pero no ocure nada solo me dise que está instalado pero siguen solo las dos carpetas en el pendrive

  • so how do i use windows again ... assuming that this will mess up my boot order

  • nope. you can just restart the system without the usb inserted.. lol.

and if you are really paranoid you can change the boot order when you startup:

hit f12. may be differnet on your computer.

  • thanks man ... i dont wanna ruin my laptop cuz i just bought it ... but f12 is the key on my comp .. thanks again

  • no problem :)

  • hi thanks for the vid...

but i'm having some problems, after reboot and run from usb device, there is many opciin, but unfortunaly none of them works... when I choose any, just appear a black screen and nothing else...

    can someone helps???

    thanks

  • i had the same problem when i first started backtrack a couple years ago... it sucks, and theres alot to explain.. first try goin on the remote exploit forums (theyre the developers) but to give a little advice, when at the boot up have the option highlighter where you can start in graphics mode (kde) hit tab, then hit space, and type acpi=off noapic and then hit enter, and boot up.. see if that helps at all

  • can someone help me

  • Be a little bit more specific please.

  • lol diablo 2 expansion set, i ve got it too

good game good game XD cant wait for diablo 3

  • me either, right now im playing silk road online, and neo-steam to keep me busy D:

  • cool. you have diablo 2 expansion xD

  • How do you shutdown the computer when running from the usb as when i goto shut the computer down it just says end current session and then takes me to the backtrack login screen.

  • Setting up boot record for G:, wait please...

Accessing physical drive: Access is denied.

Did not successfully update the MRB; Continuing..

Disk G: should be bootable now. Installation finished.

    WTF?

  • when opening up the cmd in windows, try to ruin it as an admin by right clicking on cmd and going to run as admin

  • will i still be able to use windows after i follow this video

  • yes, absolutely

  • well u install Bt3 on ur USB not HDD

  • If you have to ask a question like that, maybe you shouldn't be using BT3.

  • ok

    i downloaded BT3 for usb

after download was done i got a rar file i extract it and i got the boot and BT3 folders

after that i Open the bootnist.bat and it says that E: should now be bootable after restarting and changing that boot modes to removable disk first i still cant boot it can u help?

    thanks

  • any error messages? or... is it just not even reading the usb at all? try putting that bad boy in another usb port, restart and re-check the boot order. if vista make sure you do everything as administrator

  • okay now i was able to get into BT# but once in i went to internet then check connections or somethign liek that and it told me a message that said that there werent any connections found and that the connection browser was going to close.. is my card not compatible can u tell me?? i got a:

    Intel(R) WiFi Link 5100 AGN and a

Realtek RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P) Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.0)

    My laptop is a Asus g50Vt X1

    And im using windows vista

  • im not too sure about that wireless, but have you tried hooking up a wired connection?

I cannot find your card on the supported hardware list for Back Track on the Back Track wiki. If you dig around the remote-exploit forums I'm sure you'll get the info on your wireless card.

But, for now my advice is try to get a wired connection, and if that works out for you surf the net to find the dirt on your wireless, if it ends up not being compatible google "hcl wireless" and find one that will work

  • Sweet tuts you have. On this one I believe it's easier to just go into the Boot folder and click "bootinst"

  • yeah, you are right lol... and thank you for the positive feedback

  • NICE one thx

  • Dude, Nice Vid.. This Helped Me Alot... I Ran BT3 Today In School And Cracked Some WEP Man... lol..

  • If I take out my usb flash drive could I start up in windows cause that's wut I kind of need xp/linux box.

  • yes sir

  • nice tut found it helpfull

  • i saw in another vid that backtrack 2 had the user as root and pass as toor is it the same in 3?

  • Nice video, thank you, but how much flash drive memory do you need?

  • a 1gig will work just fine

  • Thanks.

I installed everything right. I restarted my computer and boot the USB. And i got an error says:

"Could not find kernel image: Linux"

    Did I do something wrong?

  • make sure if youre running vista you run bootinst.bat as administrator

  • Yeah i got same thing have you fixed it? if so help me do it :p

  • Yeah I got it. Format your USB as FAT not FAT32

  • yeah thanx, i found out the same day X^D, thanks though...

  • lol. thats good. and no problem

  • So you got it to work formatting your flash drive as FAT and NOT as FAT32?

Cause I tried FAT, to no avail.

I'm gonna reformat with FAT32 to see if its any better.

Wonder if BT3 cares if its FAT or FAT32?

  • Here's my problem...

I did all you said. I went to BIOS before all of this and set my boot priority to 1.removable drive 2. cd/dvd and 3. hard disc. And after I reset my computer it still doesnt boot from USB. Help me out here, please!

  • Lol, how noobish of me! I got it :) Just done a little bit of poking around in BIOS and saw where I made a mistake :D :D I guess i asked for help to early :) Great videos btw. Very useful!

  • lol okay man, glad to hear it. and thanks for the positive feedback!

  • ahhh thats easy :) thanks man. i just did it by slapping those 2 files without formatting or installing .bat into it. what kind of tech am i ;) thanks again .

  • np, glad my vid is helping people

  • WTF how could u people possibly screw this up it works fine thx for the tutorial.

  • thank you for the positive feed back

  • if your running vista make sure you run the command prompt with admin rights or it may say "Did not successfully update the MBR"

  • A Backtrack 3 tutorial using Windows? WTF?

  • good observation

  • just use winRAR

  • wow dude you told us what we needed to know to get this working

    good job

only got 4 stars for this cus i hated the crappy music hehe

  • lol well i dont like your music either =P

rather listen to i killed the prom queen, or godless crusade.. but yeah metal for life

  • got the same thing here

  • i love daemon tools

  • I used Unetbootin, works great on bt3 iso file

  • I don't know if some people are having a hard time finding what to open the iso file, but you can use winrar.

    Works like a charm ;)

  • ive installed bte on my usb drive, i try to bbot from it and it comes up with a blackscreen and says syslinux load error : boot error what could this bee!!!!! please help me someone

  • it means that that you FAIL EPICLY

  • redo everything, if all else fails consult the remote-exploit forums.

  • my friend

    username ?????

    password ??????

  • root & toor

  • if you have dual core processor, disable the ACPI option from BIOS (Power tab) if it doesn't boot from USB (if the image remains black and nothing else shows up)

p.s.: how do I set backtrack 3 final (from usb) on persistent mode? on reboot i loose every config i am making

  • i had the same problem as the 2 guys below me but i swiched to an administrative acc and it worked. idk for u guys

  • yea i get the same problem as glitchbusters2

    what do i do?

  • You over complicated this. To make it more simple, grab a copy of 7zip or WinRAR and drag+drop the files into a freshly formatted stick or SD card, and double click the .bat

    xD

  • true that nukka!

  • can i install it to a SD card instead for usb?

  • im not actually 100% sure how to do that

    try the remote-exploit forums

  • Yes, you can.

  • Thanks for the video, very helpful. One question though. How much memory do you recommend the usb drive to have?

  • atleast 1 gb

  • nice, thanks a lot

  • I have a problem.

After restarting my pc i have only black screen when i want to boot BT3 from usb.

    Can someone help me ??

  • could be a video issue. check out the remote-exploit forums.. i handled alot of problems with video issues over there... or you could just PM me and ill help you personally.

  • i have the same problem...ps i`m instaling it on a memory card...after i restart my laptop i chose boot from memory card and all what appears is _...i don`t now how to send private message...

  • sorry bro's i have no experience with putting BT on a mem card

  • i got the same problem.. a black screen, no boot. so, I changed the memory card with a brand usb stick and now it's working.. i think some usb sticks are not recognized by eeePC BIOS..

  • round of applause i love you i can now run backtrack 3 thank you i love you :) as a friend :) lmao :P:P

  • lol no problem man, glad i could help

  • Im having problems with the installation. An error message keeps popping up after i type in "bootinst.bat". It says "Exception Processing Message c0000013 Parameters 75b6bf7c 4 75b6bf7c 75b6bf7c". I have downloaded the usb version from the site, and extracted the correct files from the iso. I have done all of the instructions that you said above. Please help!!!

  • try reformatting your USB and doing the whole process all over again. if that fails, give this site a read

    consumingexperience(dot)com/2007/11/windows-no-disk-exception-processing(dot)html

    (replace the (dot)'s of course)

  • heh thanks for the video, I'm just roaming YouTube harvest videos for offline mode if Internet2 ever arrives.

I notice you also play Diablo 2 LOD, Thats an excellent game :) I had a few accounts there for many years. Its a real annoying installation process [Diablo2] lol.

    Cheers.

  • same with me, i just recently got bored with D2 though, lol. i've played it for years as well... just waiting for D3 to make an appearance, but until then i havent been gaming online really

    cheers

  • great video, i currently got my bt3 to work i'm just doing some checking and getting dictionary ready for WPA and stuff..BTW some people may be difference letter for their USB. mine was F: and others may be K: like yours or E:. thanks for the vid, well explained...5*

  • thankyou for the positive comment :D

  • Hi thanks for the vid.

But during the process I'm recieving a error-message. It comes up when the process is making the usb bootable. Although the error (error about syslinux) the process message indicates that the usb is succesfully bootable.

If I tried it out. It wont boot!!!

    I downloaded the iso-file directly from remote-exploited!!

  • try re-formatting your flash to fat32, then re-trying the process of installing, if that does not work, send me a PM

  • WTF I downloaded the usb version, dropped it into the stick after formatting it first, and all I see is the same one file, not the 2 you show, How are you getting 2 files to drop in there, don't tell me it splits like an cell.

  • All 3 downloads are ISO,s where or how are you getting these 2 files, I tried extracting it into a folder and I get a shit of files, wish I knew which of them to pack into these two folders, Tired of booting BT3 from CD and want to USB bootit!

  • bro, read the description...

you have to get a tool like daemon tools to extract the folders from the .iso

get daemon tools, mount the .iso and extract the two folders "BT3" and "BOOT" from it, to your USB

  • song?

  • "winters bliss" i found it on the newgrounds audio portal

  • hey phait nice vid

i have a major issue, not with ur instruction but with me bios settings

i followed your instructions bit by bit with succes but when it came to trying to boot the usb flash drive i couldnt find it on the list of bootable items, i tried diffrent usb ports and even tried plugging it into a usb hub

    please help!

P.S: im running windows vista home premium on a acer aspire 5710g notebook, 4gb ram, two 69 gb hdds and an intel centrino duo processor

  • im a bit drunk off my ass right now, its been a couple days since your question.. any luck with solving your problem? wierd u cant bott it first from your bios, it is plugged in while u try to boot it via bios? if not bios is there some sort of "f" key for boot options rather than just going through boot order from bios? arrrrrr get back to me whilst i take another shot

  • hahah lol sounds like ur havin fun

neways i got BT3 workin on a pc running xp and it worked fine, now all i need to do is teach myself how to use most of the programs

anyways i tried ur advice with no such luck, i looked at the boot options but it didnt list it there and it was plugged in

  • thats weird bro.

well just use what u got workin, if u need help with any programs PM me

  • As I can see you showed us how to make it bootable on USB over windows XP in cmd.

That means that you have Linux on other HD so you can dual boot xp and linux, right??

Backtrack is only for linux comaptible, so can you explain how could you dual boot or make a video about it. how to dual boot linux and backtrack 3?

    Please answear!

  • Actually, BT3 is an operating system based off of Slackware. It's Linux in itself, so you don't need a prior installation of Linux on your machine.

  • Thx for the reply phait, I have BT3 on cd and it runs smooth( it boots up and I get to see what i'll be working with). Meaning I get to do everything on it but actually use it. I am still in the middle of getting a compatible adapter. However I've tried to make a USB bootable and no mater what tutorial I follow it just doesn't work. Could it be my Laptop? Though I don't think so. I get a Kernel error.

  • As far as adapters go I recommend getting the Hawking HWUG1.

    Hawking HWUG1

    * Driver: rt73

    * Chipset: ralink

    * Injection and monitor mode work fine, just have to "ifconfig rausb0 up" and it works

I have it with the High Gain Antenna you can buy for it, as well. As far as that adapter goes though, I bought it (and still use it) and it works right out of the box.

As far as your USB problem, no, I don't believe from what you've told me it's a laptop issue.

  • This has a mac address changer how could anyone be caught? Just curious.

  • all depends on ones computer knowledge and the right timing. obviously if you crack your neighbors WEP key they probably wont notice (unless they are computer savvy which chances are they are not having WEP encryption (lol). but lets say you change your MAC and they are computer savvy and are in the right place at the right time, noticing an outside connection on their system(s)/machine(s) they could trace the wireless signals and where they are coming from if givin the right amount of time.

  • hey im new to thise computer stuff and i have a dell laptop with vista home premium and i really need to download back track so i can get a better internet conection.and whats a usb???

please reply i need help! :(

  • cracking someones elses WEP and accessing their network is illegal without permission. I only condone pen-test upon your own system(s)

  • hi

  • lol thanks for the comment. D3.. cant wait even though its a ways away

  • I mean.... Microshit. :]

  • youre right, it should be formatted to FAT32

but in some cases NTFS works, but go with FAT32

  • You never mentioned what type of file system you formated it too. I would like to know, thanks. I'm going to assume not NTFS since that is proprietary to microsoft.

  • what do you mean unzip it?its an ISO disk image file there is no "unzip"

  • install winrar

  • Nice vid Phait.

What size of USB drive do you suggest? It would need to be large enough for a good dictionary. Also know where to get a good dictionary?

  • i suggest a 4gb-8gb USB. yes, if you send me a PM message i can link you up to a huge wordlist

  • where do you get backtrack 3? when ever i download it i get it as an ISO. should i9 just copy over the whole ISO?

  • you have to unzip it

  • get daemon tools to extract the folders from the .iso

  • Can you tell me how to get the computer to boot from the flash drive because even after I reboot it it still loads Microsoft and not Backtrack

  • you have to change the settings in your bios

  • diablo for live ;) (you must be looking forward to D3 )

Nice video btw, but what does Backtrack do?

  • backtrack is a pentesting linux distro

    it pentests lol

  • and yes i am looking forward to D3 very much so as well

  • Yes I had tested on vista, and it works !

  • Has anyone ever tested this tutorial on Windows Vista?

  • Very nice and very easy, even a script kiddie could do it!

  • does backtrack run on windows????i heard that btrack just work on linux...plz reply

    Thx

  • backtrack is linux. its a type of a linux distribution dedicated to pentesting. you run it right off a usb stick or cd.

  • nice clear step-by-step tutorial thx

  • does backtrack run on windows????i heard that btrack just work on linux...plz reply

    Thx

  • hey Fisher, Backtrack does run on windows if you use VMWARE. It will run in a virtual machine environment. Personally, id follow this tutorial and run it off a flash drive, once you get a little experience playing around with it while on a flash drive, go to the BT3 website and down load the VMWARE version.

  • thx man
