I actually cried the first time I saw this. I haven't seen RG like this in forever, all it really is now is a bunch of sloppy Russians dominating the competition without a second glance back. But this defines RG, beyond how Olga Kapranova, Vera Sesina, or Alina Kabaeva defined it. Most people think RG is just a circus clown sport, with beyond flexibility. But, if someone ever doubted you when you are telling them about this sport, have them watch this and they'll understand why we love it.
She is magical. Her style in here was completely different from that of the olympics. She tends to try a lot of styles and will not stick to just one style.
Regardless of whether or not she deserved a perfect 10 in artistic value, this is the best routine that I've seen in a very long time. I love the music, the tosses, the synchrony between the music and her body movements and facial expressions, and, mainly, her energy.
I used to love rhythmic gymnastics, but stopped following it for a while when Alina Kabaeva was active. I found Kabaeva's gymnastics boring, depressing and unstimulating. Kanaeva is completely different. She deserves being number 1

I mean, for how good it can be, do you think THIS is perfection in ARTISTIC VALUE?
Judges are giving her crazy scores cause now there are others that can overtake her, so just to secure the gold they give this non-sense scores.
her level was higher before beijing.. now she does mistakes more often and the routine are not as difficult as before. She is clearly at the top, but not worthy of a 10. As no one is.
@Aupirit I don't think that her difficulty is lower than before~ Her style changed since 2009. There are more difficult tosses and catches even in the end of the routine~
However, undoubtedly the Perfect 10 Artistic Score is quite unbelievable~ There must be some tiny mistakes there. And, I have watched all her Hoop in 2010 up till now, this performance was the best~ She almost had accomplished all the difficulty as she planned to do :-)
if you notice at 0.47 she does the rotation on the floor spinning a 360. the CoP states that it has to be performed with NO hand help.. just look at that! she takes the hand on the floor all the time to help the rotation, so that element can't be counted at all! That moves is her originality so must count something around 1.00can you figure her score without that? on rsg.net some analysis have been done of her marbella hoop and the d1 for hoop resulted 7.5 instead the 9.8 they gave her...
@Aupirit what the hell are you talking about? don't confuse people with what you say: with NO HANDS - read carefully. "Pushing WITH THE HANDS, rotation 360 on the stomach, legs high up in split position, arms to the side or up"!!!!
@nechta86 sorry but of course you have to push with your hands at the beginning how otherwise? and arms to the side od up means: NOT USING THE HANDS TO REACH a 360 rotation. helping you during all the rotation is not worth.
@Aupirit But above you've written it as she has to do it at all with no hands help, like just lay down and start spinning around by herself. So be clear with what you write, please.

@nechta86 as told before go on (triple)w (dot) rsg (dot) net (slash) forum and go in the score section. people trained for judges has done analysis using the cop of her ribbon routine and they can't find elements to get even near the 9.3 she gets in competitions..and sometimes comparing the mistakes and the deduction you find that they don't match.. like deduction of 0.1 which don't exist in the Cop.
@nechta86 oh and if you notice I'm not the only one that thinks so.. you should referesh your concept of perfect artistry with some 80's RG videos. Go and see panova's petrova's etc videos and then come back to talk about PERFECT ARTISTRY. I know that now this terms has a different meaning but "body difficulty" is not artistry. miteva has higher and riskier throws, so all the belarussians, and bessonova had the best expressions ever. kanaeva stays at the top due just to the difficulties.
@Aupirit don't forget that КП is a sport, and to be just artistic and expressive is not enough. It seems that you know better than coaches of Kanaeva and judges everything about RG,,, do you think they are stupid, when put some elements with out knowing how to execute them? and I'm not a blind fan, actually my favourite gymnast is Charkashina.
@nechta86 there is something called execution that states that is not enough that you are supposedly able to do something.. you need to PROVE to be able to do the element. if a gymnast performs a difficulty 9 times out of 10, that ONLY time the difficulty has NOT to be counted. So I find it dodgy going on to perform that difficulty in the wrong way just cause the judges allowed that. and AGAIN here we are discussing the 10 in ARTISTRY not in difficulty, so please stay focused.
@Aupirit about the artistic: what do you see looking at this video? I don't know what music is that but it reminds me the music from fairy-tales, and when i watch this video i can see fairy playing magic with the hoop as it was some other object. And for me that is expressive. I'm not gonna quarrel talking about Bessonova or any other gymnast,, as i told to be artistic is not just enough. Risky throws: Kanaeva has them as well, and catches.

@tchachinafan que logre quitar a Evgenia como la mejor del ranking mundial,Staniouta y su compañera Narkevich se nota que son huesos duros de roer pero simplemente no estan al nivel de Evgenia,creo que se despedira(claro que cuando se retire)como lo que es ahora,aunque uno nunca sabe,ya vez la bulgara Boyanka Angelova en 2008 pintaba para ser un tremendo dolor de cabeza para las rusas y resulto mucho menos que eso,todo cambia en cuestion de dias,saludos !!!!

Adoro a Kanaeva, espero que las lesiones no le aquejen tanto, la quiero ver en Londres y si es posible más, pienso que esa grandiosidad de gimnasta se pude retirar siendo la mejor de la historia y con las medallas para probarlo.
