I like both.... Short course is more for racing while MT's are more for bashing and just having a jolly good time...... then theres rock crawling which is kind of different all together.
I had the Traxxas Slash when it first came out and tested it out at Wolcott Raceway. The popularity never caught on till after I traded it. Sucks...lol.
son categorias diferentes, de igual forma monster truck tiene la velocidad de las short course y la altura de el crawler asi que mas bien se dieron opciones para dividir las monster.
i have two rock crawlers and my friends has a short course and i still love the 1/8 scale monsters. i love now that they can jump 50 feet into the air very rarley breaking a a-arm or something else
I'm a monster truck man but I wouldn't mind giving the short course trucks a try i'm not into rock crawlers I like high speeds and sick air and monster trucks and SCT's provide that... Rock Crawling is almost a laid back kind of thing and i'd rather "in your face" competition as to slow put me to sleep driving..... Besides ain't got no rocks in south eastern Louisiana...
No I don't think that sct's and rock crawlers are replacibg monster trucks, but I do think that they will add more opportunities for developement in the hobby.
Recently, I was trying to decide between a Slayer 4x4 and a Savage X....I went with the Savage. However, it was not an easy choice, I like both of them very much. In fact, my next car is going to be the Slayer...right after I buy my next plane! Lol
Complete package is Savage and a E-Revo :) Savage is a beast and yes it is durable, but you have something in E-Revo Brushless that Savage dont have. It handles better, its look and how it is overall.
of course, I was talking about durability out-of-the-box only... the E-revo is a hell of a fun and cool truck :) (artig å kunne svinge i mer enn 2km/t uten å velte også xD)
Love you Hope. I have all classes of RC cars and a helicopter. I don't see SCT replacing but adding. My favorite cars are my heavily modified models: Traxxas Summit and Rustler. Bottom line -- no.
it does seem like short course is all the hype now days for rc.. but honestly there is nothing like have a nicely powered MT that thrashes over everything and jumps and just is on the edge the whole time... rock crawling is fun but its very slow paced witch is not for me.. i like faster paced nitro vehicles.. ive yet to drive a short course.. but my roots are nitro MT's and they are so much fun i think any hardcore rc guy has atleast one nitro mt
Personally I love all 3. My first was the sledgehammer and then came the clodbuster, slash 2wd and 4wd, axial scx10 and xr10, now a helion animus has been added, along with various helis. I am addicted to rc in general. I would also like to add that so far that I've seen, there will always be vintage! Discontinued to me just means more fun!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I for one LOVE MONSTER TRUCKS and short course and rock crawling is MAINLY for competionion and remember I said MAINLY not ALL.
I would say, short course very popular now, basher and racer, monster trucks, one hell of a basher, not much of a racer, maybe an lst2, but that's about it
@rcmen13 You're the perv, you fucking tool. I was making light of her pronunciation of the word rock. Go and rub one out so you don't immediately think about sex all the time.
They all have their place, its like they say different strokes 4different folks. I love my MTs and you really cant compare them 2 SC .My .02 cents is find a kit you like an Just enjoy the hobby. and 1/7 onroad racing is the next big fad lol go TRAXXAS~100+mph RTR vs. Ofna DM-1 e ...
Short course are the new thing, whenever something new comes in everyone wants it, also they also handle way better then monster trucks so are more common with racers
BTW, I own a Traxxas Stampede and love it! I'm hoping to add both an SCT (Losi or HPI) ant crawler (EXO Terra) as soon as my limited budget will allow.
I think Crawlers are here to stay and will soon replace the Monster Trucks as folks try to have a hybrid between the two.
I also feel that Short Course Trucks will soon be replaced by Short Course Buggies, especially with more durable 1/8 scale versions as folks are demanding tougher and faster designs.
It's just a phase SCT is fairly new but the monster trucks will always be popular. Why else would we see lots of people selling there SCT trucks on forums, they get one and then realize that it's not as bashable as they wanted it to be. They are too low to the ground and you can only run them on a track or a flat surface. So monster trucks will always be around and will always be sold...
monsters trucks are not for the track they are bashers so ya i would rather a sct i have had 6 monster trucks and they are all gone now and i own a few sct so much easier to deal with it make the avarage rc user want to play with it more and alot less stress
I own 1 SC (HPI Blitz) a 2 crawlers (1/24 & 1/10) & I wouldn't mind having the ERevo 1/10 brushless to bash, my blitz can take a lot of punishment but it's still just 2WD
as for popularity, not exactly sure, there is no race class for monster trucks (not around here anyway), there is SC races, but for crawlers, there seems to be a lack of them locally (I'm the only one I know who has a 1/10 crawler)
in the end I think its still balanced, for my location, it may be different for other places
@hbxhpikyosho well @rcmen13 thinks that the savage xs and the savage flux hp are crap and that the thunder tiger mt4 g3 is better then the savage flux hp and i disagree with him.
This is why I love my slash. Stock it's an SCT, but with some new wheels and a body it's an amazing monster truck. I can also make it an 8th scale buggy, or lock the diffs and let it crawl. Buy some extra parts, and you get five rc's in one.
Not as far as I'm conscerned...BRUSHLESS EMASS, VXL STAMPEDE, MINI REVO, RC18T, and Original Blackfoot.....:O) Bashers like Monsters, sorry, those short course trucks seem too practical....Fenders?? C'mon now kids!
