if these were mass produced and everybody bought them the price would drop rapidly. at the moment they can cost more than a family car yet they are made of so little materials. MAybe the way forward is too introduce aircraft lanes on suitable public roads which would increase the capacity for aircraft in urban areas. THat would immediatly create a market.

how much does one of these cost??? is it legal to fly in the states?

@tonyb822 This particular model new is about 34k (UK pounds). However, there are many makes and models available from manufacturers across the globe - with second hand machines going for only a few thousand.

Yes, they are perfectly legal to fly in the USA
