There's no sign hanging in that 'splodey room saying "Hey don't come in here if you don't got triple jump, or you've fucked yourself out of 100%." I tried climbing that duct over and over, mistakenly thought the air duct was one-way, and carried on. I figured when the room exploded you could enter through the other side and climb through the wreckage or something. Of course, to get to the other entrance to that room you need to pass through a save point.

thats stupid that you can't get this after the exploding room, i saw it on my map and thought that the game would eventually take me there. Too bad the gold version doesn't count when you pick it up

Yep, missed this too because I didn't have the hookshot and I couldn't climb the vent. I tried for like 2 minutes before I decided that you just can't climb walls that narrow. Then I climbed a vent like that about 20 minutes later. FML.

every guide ive seen on the internet is missing the very important fact that if you walk into the trap and leave before getting the gun, you CAN NOT get the gun after. i got to 99% complete and i cant get 100 thanks to this fucking bullshit
