yes, its gross..BUT, every lake stream and river in north america has fish tapeworms in it. If your going to keep your catch, you should expect to find worms. If you freeze the fish solid, then cook it all the way through, you will be fine. If by chance you do get infected with the fish tapeworm they can be removed easily with over the counter parasite cleanses that contain black walnut extract, cloves, wormwood extract, and garlic. And thankfully fish tapeworms arent as bad as the pork tapeworm
if you can remove the innards cleanly like when you fielddress a dear. then look somewhere with some distance from where you dont want tapeworms. the only other place is in the brain possibly, a much lower chance but totally worth discarding the brains. other than that, any possible eggs will be killed by proper cooking where they are rendered harmless.
I will never eat fish again... wait, I didn't eat fish before. lol
