@DreamersVision I think the 2nd episode was fine, but the 1st episode was just meh. If you're bothered by the anthropomophism in this series, I was bothered by the whale sounds and the parental care of the mosasaurs in episode 1...:P Now IMO THAT was unacceptable. Heck even Dr. Tom Holtz said in his live Facebook commentary that he DISOWNED the mosasaur segment.;)

@DreamersVision I agree that a teenage Rex might be on it's own, but for what's worth, I heard there's a family pack of T. rex being found in Montana, though there's not as much info about it as the Albertosaurus bonebed excavated by Barnum Brown and Phil Currie...... :P
I find it hypocritical that people whine and bitch about the anthropomorphism in the dinosaurs in Dinosaur Revolution yet they don't complain about the fact that most shows depict dinosaurs as monsters.....:/

As I said before, this show wasn't intended to be a documentary before Discovery fucked it up, so all your criticisms about this show are INVALID.;) Also, keep in mind that dinosaurs are usually potrayed like monsters (just watch Jurassic Fight Club and Clash of the Dinosaurs), and DR regularly showed normal animal behaviors (eg. Much of the screentime of the Allosaurus and T. rex showed them resting)

For example, DR did their homework at biostratigraphy while Walking with Dinos did not.

I'm sure dinosaurs cared for their young to some extent, crocodiles and birds both do...
@evolutionreal ...but most of their parental instincts don't last quite that long. This program didn't represent dinosaurs in a proper way either. Yes, most make them out to be monsters, but I thought this program made them too cutesy at times. The 2nd episode was the worst when it came to that. But then again, why should I care? You say this show wasn't really meant for educational purposes anyway. I've seen much worse, and this one has, admittedly, did a good job with the dinosaur coloring.

In fact, the series was originally meant to be named Reign of the Dinosaurs. Then, Discovery decided to shoehorn it into a documentary. I doubt a teenage T-Rex would still be with it's parents. Even in the animations, their intelligence is totally over-estimated. For instance in episode 2, that allosaurus would probably not have had enough sense to attack the torvosaurus while it was attacking that sauropod's baby. These dinosaurs have too much...personality. We don't see animals in the Serengeti with that much character. Remember, Troodon was one of the most intelligent dinosaurs we know of....
Alright, I have a few things to say. I have watched every episode of this show and it seems pretty dull. For one I noticed inaccuracies, and two, this show isn't really all that "revolutionary". A lot of things in this show have been covered before, except more thoroughly. Yes, dinosaurs weren't as dumb as we once thought, that doesn't mean they are nearly are intelligent as they are portrayed in this show. I'm sure they nurtured their young to some extent, but really?
12:39- the show 'Last Day of the Dinosaurs had the exact same thing happen to the T-Rex- both that show and this one have the T-Rex trip or fall down in some way and get impaled through the neck by a Triceratops horn. I smell a rip-off with the writing here, that or T-Rexes must have made a thing out of falling on dead Triceratops and getting a horn through the exact same place on their neck. Don't believe me? @toxicsumo Also, aside from the anthropomorphism, Dinosaur Revolution regularly showed many "normal" animals behaviors in their dinos (eg. resting), not to mention unlike most other shows, the dinosaurs in this show do not run around and roar while hunting (Ok, the Torvosaurus in episode 2 roared while attacking it's prey, but that's the exception), so no offense, but your comment makes no sense at all.

This show is not accurate, many dinosaurs were warm blooded and some lived in cold climates, e.g. polar allosaurus e.t.c. It wasnt the cold that killed them off, it was acid rain, forest fires and lack of food.

@DreamersVision I think the 2nd episode was fine, but the 1st episode was just meh. If you're bothered by the anthropomophism in this series, I was bothered by the whale sounds and the parental care of the mosasaurs in episode 1...:P Now IMO THAT was unacceptable. Heck even Dr. Tom Holtz said in his live Facebook commentary that he DISOWNED the mosasaur segment.;)

As I said before, this show wasn't intended to be a documentary before Discovery fucked it up, so all your criticisms about this show are INVALID.;) Also, keep in mind that dinosaurs are usually potrayed like monsters (just watch Jurassic Fight Club and Clash of the Dinosaurs), and DR regularly showed normal animal behaviors (eg. Much of the screentime of the Allosaurus and T. rex showed them resting)

For example, DR did their homework at biostratigraphy while Walking with Dinos did not.

Although, I did say I preferred Walking with Dinosaurs, "even though it is outdated". Also, saying that I doubt a teen aged tyrannosaurus would still be taken care of by it's parents isn't really an opinion, it's more of an educated assumption. I'm sure dinosaurs cared for their young to some extent, crocodiles and birds both do...

@evolutionreal ...but most of their parental instincts don't last quite that long. This program didn't represent dinosaurs in a proper way either. Yes, most make them out to be monsters, but I thought this program made them too cutesy at times. The 2nd episode was the worst when it came to that. But then again, why should I care? You say this show wasn't really meant for educational purposes anyway. I've seen much worse, and this one has, admittedly, did a good job with the dinosaur coloring.

I doubt a teenage T-Rex would still be with it's parents. Even in the animations, their intelligence is totally over-estimated. For instance in episode 2, that allosaurus would probably not have had enough sense to attack the torvosaurus while it was attacking that sauropod's baby. These dinosaurs have too much...personality. We don't see animals in the Serengeti with that much character. Remember, Troodon was one of the most intelligent dinosaurs we know of....

Alright, I have a few things to say. I have watched every episode of this show and it seems pretty dull. For one I noticed inaccuracies, and two, this show isn't really all that "revolutionary". A lot of things in this show have been covered before, except more thoroughly. Yes, dinosaurs weren't as dumb as we once thought, that doesn't mean they are nearly are intelligent as they are portrayed in this show. I'm sure they nurtured their young to some extent, but really?

12:39- the show 'Last Day of the Dinosaurs had the exact same thing happen to the T-Rex- both that show and this one have the T-Rex trip or fall down in some way and get impaled through the neck by a Triceratops horn. @toxicsumo Also, aside from the anthropomorphism, Dinosaur Revolution regularly showed many "normal" animals behaviors in their dinos (eg. resting), not to mention unlike most other shows, the dinosaurs in this show do not run around and roar while hunting (Ok, the Torvosaurus in episode 2 roared while attacking it's prey, but that's the exception), so no offense, but your comment makes no sense at all.

This show is not accurate, many dinosaurs were warm blooded and some lived in cold climates, e.g. polar allosaurus e.t.c. It wasnt the cold that killed them off, it was acid rain, forest fires and lack of food.
