there are many music artists in Houston but they themselves do not want to go mainstream because they have known for a long time about the music industry, If you look up how many Houston rappers died mysteriously you will be surprised. Keep up the good work and god bless.
i live in the nashville area and went to a college that had a very good music business program. A sony exec told me in private that he wasnt interested in talent he was interested in boobs and a pretty face...talent was too difficult to deal with...they can fix the voices with computers. If you notice the people with the most talent get signed and then they never record...it is cheaper and easier to make the real talent go away..they dont want to raise the standard
As a songwriter and producer, I agree with what you are saying. My plan is to be an independent artist so that I can maintain that creativity and that inspiration that so many of us (myself included) have had taken away. I feel like the world we live in now is lifeless and colorless, like a machine that feeds us factory-produced content. It's time to bring back art! It's time to go back to being human!
I am songwriter/producer. Spent time studying chord structure, rhythm, harmony....all of it. Made sure that I could live up to the standards of the 80's. Then, I saw that selling recordings was not economically possible anymore because of illegal downloads and file sharing. I said screw that, don't want to be broke. I play locally and still write music, but I knew that music could not be a real profession in todays society. There are many others just like me.
Dead on DEM cad, as the son of an artist and friend of various artists, one who had a sumber 1 hit single in Canada I agree. There does seem to be a trend towards a homogenizing of music as a whole. Part of it is that the music must be predictable because to a record company an artist is just an investment. Alot happens in the studio that the musician has no control over. Im leaning towards there being no overall conspiracy, but sometimes... haha :)
@DEMCAD Search “Jimmy Carter vs Punk” on youtube. Very interesting video about the late 70's - 80's American political punk rock bands, the major labels, and a politician. Idk, maybe there is something going on..
This is what Gerald Celente said. Gerald was saying that soon the gov and higher ups will want to do away with the internet because it is a huge voice. The out of the box thinking is a threat to societys current way of life.
agreed, artists like Tracy Chapman, and Rage a.t.m. rarely get the airtime they deserve, because media controllers are afraid of their politically questioning lyrics.
@steveninthematrix In Interstella 5555 (and animation for the album discovery) some sort of occult/masonic guy captures and alien band and converts them into a constructed pop group on Earth.
Demcad, I agree with you. I heard that Katy perry son with Kanye and was like WHAT!!! haha. I really dont understand why you were so quick to deny the supernatural though. I guess it all depends on if you believe in God and if so, what you think about Him. Anyways, I think Iif you really want to hear a different tune, check out Reach Records.com,they are actually giving free music out!! Check it out!! Dont be closed minded!! :)
I was a rock and roller for years still like some of the old stuff even though I know what the agenda was. The guy above has it right occultism is big in the industry. All the way back to The Beatles putting Aliester Crowley on the cover of SPLHCB Album. Gotta check that flick above out. The one that got me was "They sold their souls for rock and roll". Long but informative. I think it is a bunch of nonsense but they don't.
you've got chino XL broke as hell. He's a member of mensa for oodsake. He's a recognized member because he IS a genius. i can't listen to rap anymore. Haven't in the last 3-5yrs. it's just full of fluff and garbage. I wish i could but thank god for the internet opening our eyes to real music now and then.
If I hear that CEE LO song again I'm going to vomit all over a picture of him at the grammys. Wardrobe, props, and a half-baked sound.
soundscan is 90percent responsible for medicrioty in radio. They groom it, endorse it and you have to pay to play. And if you suck but pay, you're almost guaranteed exposure. Just shell out 40k every couple of months and you are gauranteed airplay if you have a mediocre, safe commercial sound that makes no sense and doesn't actually say anything.
I worked for a radio station for two years, In the US 5-8 radio consultants makes lists of what songs can be played depending on the genre. Then the parent corporation beams it out to all of their stations by satellite. Only the Morning drive, and/or the Evening show is there a live DJ But they are not allowed to play songs thats not on the approved list! The best radio stations are at the Universities like U of Hawaii Radio Check them out online or your nearest college. They are still Free.
The music industry likes presenting shock value, not art. Have you seen artists like Kesha and Lady Gaga? They're based entirely on image (sex and weird costumes) and that's why people like them, their music is secondary.
They'll show a person who wears freaky costumes or does a weird dance while peddling their overproduced and computerized music. It's not about the artists' music when it comes to mainstream music.
there are very few artists in music, singers are products carefully crafted and sold to us. There are some that use shock value, but there's very few that are truly unique
If I bring up how shitty the radio is some will defend it by saying alot of people like the song thats on, if a crowd isn't there to defend them.. "well i just like the beat"
Mainstream music has always been more frivolous than the one from alternative scenarios. The situation we're living in these years seems kind of transitory like the "in between years" after the R&R era where a lot of genres coexisted together. The only "problem" with those new genres is that they are perceived as imitations of past ones, and because of that most people (passive listeners) started this nostalgic feeling for older music. What is heard on radio doesn't represent a whole scenario.
Demcad, this is a subject near and dear to me. The younger generation will label me old for saying that the level of artistry and talent has seriously declined. Sadly, for me as well is that rock is dead and Motown has given way to hip hop.
In the past I remember seeing many patriotic events either on TV or in person and for the opening they will play Bruce Springsteen's Born In The USA to "get in the spirit". Apparently they haven't listened to the lyrics very closely because it is NOT a patriotic song at all. In fact it's about how the USA ain't about shit.
You are right in that people need to listen more closely to what they are listening to. Many times the lyrics are quite tortured.
What is "art" in music? The writing of or performance of ?
The singer is what makes music "art". There are plenty of great songs on paper that will never be heard by anyone.
As for evil Corporations....you all support "evil Corps" ..stop it. Just live in a cave naked, cold, dark and starving......alway funny how the corp haters are the ones that cannot live without corps....by the way, most corps have less than 3 people in it and less than $250,000 sales a year but control the world???
Excellent. OK don't use the word conspiracy .I will tho. Let's call it a large concerted (no pun) agenda.
The music "industry" is not free-market, nor was it ever.
But it is less free now than ever and is as free as the free-market in globalism. Free for who exactly? The listeners? The artists? Or the corporation and the CEO?
Back in the 70's George Clinton did something very brilliant. On the Parliament album Funkentelechy vs. The Placebo Syndrome there is a much sampled song called Sir Nose D'Voidoffunk (Pay Attention).
During the course of the whole song you hear P-Funk doing nursery song chants like "Ba Ba Black Sheep", and "Three Blind Mice" over one of Bootsy Collins greatest ever bass lines.
Every so often George Clinton yells out "Pay Attention".
He is saying we will listen to any thing over a beat!
Forget lady gaga,Justin beiber,Lil Wayne ect id rather listen to Immortal Technique,Lowkey,Klashnekoff,Remo Conscious,K-Rino,Nate,Hyjak N Torcha,Genocide to name but a few
The few artists that manage to slip through the corporations cracks always seem to disappear over time. Their albums get less exposure until the end of the contract then they are let go and the artists have to try to make it as an independent where they struggle to win out over the millions of advertising dollars pushing against them.
Heck look at Carrie Underwood's first album and how the corporate music industry pushed her to fit their mold.
Wow man, I'm really impressed by your views and I must say that I agree to a certain degree. Though I think that the corporations and government establishments don't have as much influence as you pertray them to have, but yeah, they do have influence over the music industry.
As for the internet takeover, I believe this is gradually beginning to be more visible. For example, with youtube and it's "Trending", Vevo. I wouldn't be surprised if in 10 years internet is like 50% "controlled".

@steveninthematrix What I don't get though is, was MJ part of these Masons that run the industry? I don't think he was. That's why he was demonized in the media. He didn't want to play their game so they slapped a bad tag on him. He also mentioned "the conspiracy" a few times. Said there was a conspiracy in the world or something like that
Reggie, @4:48 you said a mouthfull. I find it funny that even though you many times see thru the crap you still tow the line. Like you are afraid to have a truly different opinion. Yeah, it's obvious that the music industry is controlled, and that they wanna portray a certain image, but seriously, there IS ABSOLUTELY an agenda behind it. ABSOLUTELY.
Lady Gaga is known for her satantic videos. Bad Romance is broken down, here on You Tube, explaning this. She always does the one eye symbol all the time...Jay Z too-he's always calling to the Rain Man..look that up too.
I write music and wish I could agree with you. However, I think the situation is much more bleak. Record companies have always been in the business of making money. The main reason we hear less mainstream music with deep or truely poetic lyrics today is that it isn't what the market demands. In otherwords, a dumbed down generation needs a dumbed down music. Narcissistic brain dead music sells to people who can relate to it.
I was just talking about that today... and I think the music lately is so trashy and the videos I have seen are really obscene and just weird... especially that lady gaga one.. born this way.. wth was that .. LOL
Its naive to say that the muwic industry doesnt have anything to do satanic practices and rituals. There is so much proof out there and u will see that almost all big timers sold there fucking souls to the devil himself.
The only new music I bought recently was the new Nick Riff CD, THE UNIVERSE IS MENTAL. He sells it for only 8 USD postpaid anywhere in the world and it's just brilliant. I haven't heard any new music in a long time which interests me. In the past, BAND OF SUSANS was really good but they never made it mainstream.
Another interesting things is that many many 60's rock artists that were almost hand picked and then shot to the top- and then settled in Laurel Canyon and had love ins and tons of drugs- were children of ultra high level military. Many were later OD deaths . ( occult child sacrifice) One motivation was that the establishment wanted to promote sex death +chaos and have a lot of drug customers first to sell drugs to then to jail for profit . Most musicians were left alone by police .
The odds of getting an inside deal and a record contract/ airplay are like winning LOTTO- Yes, they are selected and then they have to "play ball" They need to win awards, sell records, put forth a globalist and satanic agenda- occult rituals on stage - you can be an theist and still believe in occult- s/m bondage, eye patches, top hats , blood+ more blood fire crosses burning , checkerboards , the hanged man- All you have to do to prove it is get a tarot deck and watch some videos - many refs.
first rule of any musician, is no compromise I play in a metal band, and I'll be damned if im gonna ever let some prick in a suit and tie, choose what my band plays. theres a reason the motto for metal is Forever Fucking Underground
There is no doubt the "elite" prop up the easily controlled artist.whether they are musical or screen artist. Example, how the heck can a shitty actor such as Keanu Reeves or Nicolas Cage continue getting roles? LOL
Its easy to see who are the chosen ones.
Music artists as an example... Lady Gaga is obviously a propped up person as she is constantly being exposed. Compare her to a true talent as "Sade"who is AWESOME, and is Internationally recognized. Sade is RARELY talked about
lady gaga writes her own music. Also, you said artists inspire people, well lady gaga inspired a little girl to cover "born this way". She's only 10! Pretty sure she's got a big future ahead of her thanks to that video... lol.
Just search "born this way cover" will be there i'm sure.
In saying all that, I agree with some points you make. Good video all in all.
they are telling what we like now. its brainwashing. the same songs over and over. there should be no companies behind music industry. at least not gi-fucking-gantic ones like wmg...
I can recognise a christian by some of his behaviours, same for a muslim or a jew.... If i could'nt recognise a satanist, it would be from a lack of culture. Not from not believing in it.
Look at Lupe Fiasco's situation. He always puts out top quality music and always has a powerful and uplifting message. But Atlantic, his record label, tried to control him and get him to put out dumbed down lyrics which is why it took so long for his 3rd album to come out.Even still,he's going through so much because the label doesn't want him putting out the music he is known for.
@MarqNMiTCH Be on the look out for Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album in a year or 2! Lupe said himself that it's almost half done and that Atlantic won't mess it up like they did LASERS.
hey demcad i think this my fave video you made imo...you should do more on music industry and media man i couldnt agree more with your views on this topic, a lot of young people look up to and attain to be like certain artists like gaga etc who lyrics are actually ridiculos! bring back meaning in music! :)
oh ps when you get chance new artist i found on tv called "aloe blacc - i need a dollar" fantastic song some great motown vibes in there i think you would appreciate :)
So true, im shocked more people dont realize this. i mention this to friends all the time how sick and moronic the message pushed through songwriting has become.
I work for a corporate digital music company and everything demcad says is accurate. When i see Katy Perry, an artist that i categorize as being for ''mature'' audiences, her crowd are really kids, children, almost babies ! If you want to sing to kids, that's fine, but man, write lyrics for kids ! Katy Perry is training future young sluts ! Same with Britney. She trained a legion of young american sluts. It's true ! The industry doesn't care. As long as there's revenue and future revenue.
@punkempireinterviews can you speak to the things i see over and over again in the music industry that makes me not think of art but of a group of people who seem to share a belief system. Covering ones eye with hair or shadow or your hand or a hat ect. Triangles, people in triangles. Black and white checkered patterns. See it in movies, dollar bill, Mc Donald commercials, all have pyramid with eye at top of pyramid. Just curious. When people point it out and i see it all over the place...
@punkempireinterviews your right. One of Katy Perry's videos has her in a motel with this guy...I think of all the young people watching this. Also I think they trained these young girls to get pregnant (hello Brittney) because "they" know they won't get far in life tied to a baby so young...
Genius has always been a problem for society. Not controllable and think far too deep for the average viewer. People are uncomfortable with, and thus do not support with their purchasing power, those they cannot relate to. Non-thinkers feel inferior to artists, and because of undeveloped talent within themselves, they are far too critical of talent.
I've revealed truth in a subtle and peaceful style on my channel. I plan to get much deeper and more instructive this year. Many have called me an artist and a genius, but i don't look at myself quite that way. the work and the message are more valuable than my persona or public image.
I get around 20-50 views per video. No corporate CEO is keeping Youtubers from my channel. My message and style is just NOT that popular. Should I start doing alarmist videos just for views?
You made points about art, which I think goes completely against the fact you criticised many times of people 'not being able to sing'. Lets remember that art is just expression, music is using the medium of sound for expression as art, and taste is incredibly subjective. Each voice has it merits.
I do however very much agree with how controlling the corporations are (and your comparison to politicians!), and how we are shunning so many original artists.
@untuned92 The quality of a singer's voice isn't very subjective. If you randomly select 100 people and have them judge 10 random people sing. They will almost always agree when someone can't sing.
@DEMCAD Then we ask ourselves, what does it mean to be able to sing? To have control over our voice? To be smooth with our vocals? To have a wide octave range? It seems Punk, Hardcore and Metal are being completely excluded, even though they were and are such large movements with big followings. In this case, no rhythm and blues sweet voice is going to relate to the instrumentation or the listener. To be a good singer, all you need to do is be able to open your mouth and make sound come out.
interesting theory, it does make alot of sense but in the end i just think every generation hates the music of the following generation (with a few exceptions). thats been the trend for at least the past century.....maybe longer
@proteuseffects Not really this generation Y is the biggest rip off generation ever, even the movies today are rip offs of 80's sitcoms its disgusting and shows lack of creativity.
@DIJV79 and you think that is something new?!?! every generation has been retelling the same stories to translate it to it's generation or as you call it, "ripping off".yes, this generation has been more blatant and lazy about it but it's been going on for centuries before movies were invented
if singers/performers are only putting stuff out there that the corps allow and is not what their true artistic endeavor was intended for then yes they are selling their souls. they have sold out to the system to stay on their pedestal of idolatry and to continue to reap the benefits. so technically by doing this i do believe they have sold themselves to pump out dead zombified noise.
@ShinySilverBunny very well said and very observant. You don't have to sign a contract. If you conform just to make money to a .....(insert your opinion here) Satanic system you are a agent of it.
words carry a quantum effect demcad, it can effect your mind body and spirit. the rockefellers and the nazi's made standard A tuning that is out of synch with the natural vibrational field.. it's out of tune to humans and nature, it effects your soul, or CHakra's you can say..... look up what NLP i. they can implant words in songs to make you think a certain way, the music industry is very satanic they use this quantum science which some ppl call "magick" they use it to mold society
ask Robert Plant he'll tell you, he's against the evil system now... he talks about it in the movie i told buddy to look up SATANISM AND MODERN CULTURE 1 of 14
Hip hop once addressed the problems of the inner city. Hip hop artists nowdays are govt agents vampires of consciousness members of the illuminati sucking the life out of the youth and destroying their communities, theres a place for them in hell.
This is not news DEMCAD alot of black artists have punked out for a pay check along with black leaders, that will sell their people up river for pennies and a title.
Black Sabbath and Deep purple both have admitted to doing seances and witchcraft, Rober Plant sings gospel now because he beleives the satanims that Jimmy Page put into the Led Zepplin songs cause them to have a curse on their band and friends and family. Beatles were obsessed with Alleister Crowley, Rolling Stones have songs about satan, pretty straight forward... Bono of the band U2 admitted he practiced demonic self possession with the demon Mephistophelese and he would dress like satan.
DEMCAD, You should put the *Music Industry Exposed* VIDEO in your description. So people can watch it also, THE VIDEO that i sent you, that you said was the most interesting video you saw all year.
@kdash64 That series is hit and miss. Some of it is good, but what really turned me off from it is them lifting some clips from a hillariously over the top focus on the family anti-rock music propaganda film from the 80s. The "film" they referenced is so spun that it's almost a comedy film (it reminds me of sensationalized 1950s moral cursader films).
Just saying. Why the hell did they have to taint it by quoting that stupid movie?
NWA is one of the groups that helped to ruin rap music. why do you think we see ppl like snoop dogg and Ice cube in movies now. i mean ice cube is even in disney movies now. do you think it's cuz he swears and sings about shooting ppl an shit ? yes it is. same reason why ICe T is now on television , he used to be a violent rapper as well with songs like "cop killer" i remember Bush SR made a big deal over cop killer, it's all part of the Theatrical game the elites play to push violence in music
Performing artistes writing their own "music" and "lyrics" is not that old in terms of the music industry. For most of the industry's history singers were given songs to sing that had been written for them. This briefly changed in the 50's, produced the singer/songwriter in the 60's-70's, and now we're back to record companies writing songs for the artistes, especially the "child stars." What great conspiracy is that? Everyone should learn to play a musical instrument and entertain themselves.
Watch Hollywood MK Deception and you would see it's evil in controlling people and also very heavy in the music industry. They killed Michael Jackson because he would no longer be a Sony puppet. And so how do they get "Selected"?
You're right. I can think of at least 10 bands here in central Texas that blows away what you hear on the radio that will never get big because they won't compromise to the labels.
this has taken a tool in the recession because the artists of all walks of life are running scared. On the other hand youtube has opened the door for people, so it's in a wierd state of transition.
Read the Bible, I am only going to say this last thing because we could argue all nite. Its obvious we are in the last days. Everyone around the world and I mean everyone will bow to our Lord and Savior when he returns.....I will see you all there. God bless you all
@sonja196384 Hmmm, you are completely nuts, seek help asap. I think if you read up a little you find that things in 1943-1945 were much much much worse than they are now, millions being gassed, millions being bombed, where was yoru god then? End times my ass
@acidthunder1988 Honey we just havent gotten that far into it...its coming much much worse then the things you said.remember me when TSHTF. Youll remember me
@sonja196384 I wish you the best of luck Sonja, if there is a heaven and hell I will probably be taking the elevator that goes down, einstein explains that all time, the future and the past already exist and free will is an illusion so I guess we dont have any choices, what will be will be, good luck :)
@acidthunder1988 aye real talk we are in the end times...and NOW is the perfect time to give your Repent and give your life to Christ while you have air in your lungs cause once you gone you gone it aint no Love in the Grave.... peace
@acts131 If I choose to repent or not is out of my hands, all of time already exists, our reality is like a tape being played, the general theory of relativity explains this, we have no free will, our path is already set, good luck on your journey :)
@sonja196384 One last thing to get to my point. Religion is a cover for whats really going on. I can't make you believe it any more than you can make me believe in a god. But these people have to be exposed for the fraud they are so they lose their grip on us. Just give it some thought.
furthermore having first hand experience in the top of the music industry (i moved to an ancillary industry for my clients as a vendor), they are indeed trying to make it sales based, NOT artist based. So they're trying to strip the power from the artist to avoid headaches and being micromanaged by the artists.
great video. soooo true. it's about donut making, not about art. the more donuts sold, the more the objective was met. this is the corporate curse dammit it all.
Lupe Fiasco-"words I never said" "State Run Radio"....
Give them a listen and you'll see why Atlantic Records tried their hardest to not put out his album LASERS...Strong message through that album, it took a fan protest to get the label to come to grips.
@mmirrah69 What? Wtf is magick? I am sorry you are so lost, ruled by pricks in crazy suits in the vatican? All there is is our inate sense of right and wrong, it has nothing to do with fairy stories. Can you not see that your mind is being controlled by people that want your money and your obedience by filling your head with devils and angels? I truly despair that in the 21st century with all our knowledge people still cling onto myths. Just be a good person, thats all you need to do!
I don't necessarily think that every or even most artists are overt satan worshipers, but that doesn't meant that the producers, publishers, management don't pick artists whose music dumbs down the populace or promote morals that others would call demonic. Also the management will push their "talent' to promote certain things like Bieber talking about carbon taxes for example. Also recall that a lot of top pop artists don't write their own music so.
@ssdwellah ... so it's entirely possible that they are intentionally but subliminally, even to their own perception, promoting satanic messages. At the very least, the radio artists have been pushing anti-establishment and globalism for a long time. If you are a follower of any of the Abrahamic faiths, you know that this movement at it's roots is satanic (think tower of Babel). If you are not religious, you should at least agree that globalism is not in the masses' best interest.
there are many music artists in Houston but they themselves do not want to go mainstream because they have known for a long time about the music industry, If you look up how many Houston rappers died mysteriously you will be surprised. Keep up the good work and god bless.

This is how it works now. You get a talentless person, make them sing autotuned hits, they get money, then down they fall. Music fails nowadays.

research "sound scan"
soundscan is 90percent responsible for medicrioty in radio.

See it in movies, dollar bill, Mc Donald commercials, all have pyramid with eye at top of pyramid. Just curious. When people point it out and i see it all over the place...

I like the background scenery!
"Genius creates; others imitate"

I've revealed truth in a subtle and peaceful style on my channel. I plan to get much deeper and more instructive this year. Many have called me an artist and a genius, but i don't look at myself quite that way. the work and the message are more valuable than my persona or public image.
I get around 20-50 views per video. No corporate CEO is keeping Youtubers from my channel. My message and style is just NOT that popular. Should I start doing alarmist videos just for views?
carefulcarpenter 11 months ago
You made points about art, which I think goes completely against the fact you criticised many times of people 'not being able to sing'. Lets remember that art is just expression, music is using the medium of sound for expression as art, and taste is incredibly subjective. Each voice has it merits.
I do however very much agree with how controlling the corporations are (and your comparison to politicians!), and how we are shunning so many original artists.
untuned92 11 months ago
@untuned92 The quality of a singer's voice isn't very subjective. If you randomly select 100 people and have them judge 10 random people sing. They will almost always agree when someone can't sing.
DEMCAD 11 months ago
@DEMCAD Then we ask ourselves, what does it mean to be able to sing? To have control over our voice? To be smooth with our vocals? To have a wide octave range? It seems Punk, Hardcore and Metal are being completely excluded, even though they were and are such large movements with big followings. In this case, no rhythm and blues sweet voice is going to relate to the instrumentation or the listener. To be a good singer, all you need to do is be able to open your mouth and make sound come out.

freakoutguitarsolo1 11 months ago
Performing artistes writing their own "music" and "lyrics" is not that old in terms of the music industry. For most of the industry's history singers were given songs to sing that had been written for them. This briefly changed in the 50's, produced the singer/songwriter in the 60's-70's, and now we're back to record companies writing songs for the artistes, especially the "child stars." What great conspiracy is that? Everyone should learn to play a musical instrument and entertain themselves.

furthermore having first hand experience in the top of the music industry (i moved to an ancillary industry for my clients as a vendor), they are indeed trying to make it sales based, NOT artist based.
