i'm not sure how you can call UKIP a failing party when it came 4th in terms of total votes, getting 3 times as many votes as the greens. They also increased their share of the vote at the last election, which, when you consider that the turnout in 2010 was higher than the 2 previous elections, can only mean that support for the party has increased.

Because as far as I can tell the latest numbers available to the public are from 2008 when UKIP had comparable membership to the SNP. Also bear in mind that membership of all parties has fallen by around 50% since 1997 so any fall in membership might be part of a larger trend of people losing faith in uk politics.

@bbb695 500 chsracters isnt enough for me to cover everything but If you'd check the local election results from Febuary this year you'll see that their votes have plummeted particularly in areas where the had massive supoport. Most notably Romney Marsh where in 2009 they came 2nd got over 1700 votes but this year managed only 420.
If you think the only way to gauge a party is by Genereal election results you really should try to keep up to date

@Murphy4709 Pat Condell supports anti-freedom legislation and makes vast generalisations about groups of people. He is far from a peace activist. I sort of agree with you that Islam CAN BE a harmful practice if interpreted the right (or wrong) way. Then again, almost anything can be a harmful practice, but i acknowledge that it is easier to interpret Islam dangerously than it is Buddhism. However, Pat Condell fails to grasp the concept that not all Muslims are the same.
