I can see why you like these machines. I use the Oscar Neo DA-1000. It looks similar to the 900. I never need to apply heavy pressure to the produce when inserting it into the neck. Carrots are the easiest to juice as I don't require the pusher for the task. Celery, ginger, beetroot goes through with ease. Spinach and cabbage give more juice than pulp. It does citrus, but is not very efficiently (especially oranges), but I always do lemon with apple as the skin gives a nice flavour.
I like the video but, I really want to know more about eating grass from the garden it interests me because making wheat is a bit difficult for me because my house is small. where can I find more information on out door grasses? Thank you
Do you find with celery the pulp tends to be stuck at 'mouth' of the pulp outlet hence causing some leakage thru the yellow silicon plug onto the surface underneath the container? Would be very interested to hear of your response.
I've got an Oscar 930 - great juicer, I purchased it from Vitality4life in the UK, great company they replaced a bit that I broke, no problem. I use the juicer every day to make 2 pints of vegi juice - CARROT - CELERY - BEETROOT - FENAL - WHEATGRASS - PARSLEY and an APPLE all mixed up (I CALL IT JUNGLE JUICE) keeps us both healthy
This is an easy machine, but it has some drawbacks. It struggles with carrots sometimes....i have to alternate between them and softer ingredients. It also clogs up a bit with leafy greens. Most importantly tho, the juice contains pulp. The added juice volume shown here isnt a true representation. Both yeilds should be put thru a nut back to see which delivers the most 'pulp-free' juice. Cleaning the remaining pulp out of the machine is a pain in the butt as well.
Living in America, I have the Omega equivalent to the 900 you're using. I've also had mine several years. I admit I don't like people cramming stuff in their juicer in some kind of race. What's the rush? Still so much faster than cooking! Oh, that juicer can definitely take it, but it does not require some type of workout. I'm handicapped, in a wheelchair, been juicing 30 years. The vertical auger has much more pulp in the juice, if that's what you want.
If I had realised the drawbacks of the 930 I would have opted for another twin gear juicer. I would also consider the 900 but only if i knew for sure that I would not have the pulpy juice problem and that it was a lot easier to clean. I found that the basket in the 930 has cracked in many places, this seems to be a result of the pulp building up at the bottom of the auger during juicing and creating pressure on the basket.
I also find that the juice from the 930 contains a LOT of fibre. Before I can drink the juice I have to put it through a nut milk bag, a signicant amount of fibre comes out of the juice and I wonder what it weighs? Based on my experience there is a lot of pulp in the extra volume of juice that you rextract from the 930. I have not used the 900 but would be curious to know if it is the same or if the 900 produces a less 'pulpy' juice. While the old twin health was slow, the juice was not pulpy
Hi. I have been using the 930 for about a year now and I really don't like it. I drink at least 2 litres of raw green juice every day. I used to use a very slow twin health juicer and then replaced it with the 930. I find the 930 very difficult to clean and it frequently gets blocked with pulp meaning that I need to stop mid-juicing and clean it before resuming my juicing.
Excellent video. I stupidly bought an average centrifugal juicer without doing hardly any research. Then I recently got into growing my own wheatgrass and now I am on the lookout for an upgrade, I think i've found it with the Oscar 930. It's the price though, ouch! But I now juice everyday and it seems like it's worth every penny.
I don't think you need to use the tamper as much as shown in this video on the Hurom type juicer. I have the Oscar Pro 930 and I almost never use the tamper. Just drop things down the chute and let the juicer pull things into it. Also, if you force things in with the tamper you are more likely to put too much pressure on the screen and break it. With these new upright slow juicers, we have to retrain ourselves not to be heavy handed with the tamper. This is a fabulous juicer when used correctly
@truthoutmedia I did reply before but its vanished. I was JUST about to buy the 900 but now I'm not sure...you do get a lot of extra juice with the newer model. BUT you get a 1 yr parts warranty on the newer one and a 10 yr motor warranty, as opposed to the 20 yrs motor and 5 yrs parts on the 900
love the video, i myself have they "meat/icecream" juicer and centrifugal juicer.
in few months will buy the divine water distiller.
can u plz tell me how old are you and for how long have u had this juice diet for? reason i ask is that people that are on these diets from my knowledge look younger.
I ate an entire bag of doritos during this vid.

The Hurom is easier to clean if you run water through at the end. It'll flush the pulp out for you.

Would you recommend the 930 over the new Oscar neo?

I just looked at the price difference.. in the UK the 930 is an extra £130 smackers... would you say that is worth it?
truthoutmedia 1 year ago
@truthoutmedia I reckon it probably would be worth it in the long run. I was literally just about to by the oscar900 but now I'm not sure lol.
