I've been playing guitar almost as long as Brian - rock bands; recordings. And the muddiness and lack of verve here is not caused by not turning up the mics, I guarantee. I saw him last summer opening for ZZ, and he sounded just about perfect. He also looked very relaxed and lively. Too bad he didn't play any '68 Comeback songs!
