Well we've actually seen Superman (a little part of him, but an important part nonetheless) in season 3 episode 12 .

There's a kid who can see when people are going to die, by touching them... when he touches Clark, he sees Superman's cape in full detail... instead of what is effectively a red and blue blur.

The cape can also be seen in Absolute Justice when Clark meets Dr Fate for the first time... which is the reason for this dream/vision/whatever.

And now it comes full circle

just wear the damn suit already, no point going "duh i'll wear it....under my red jacket that is". no point wearing the costume if your gonna cover it up, and no point wearing a red leather jacket since red jackets aren't exactly a disguise.

plus might aswell fly no point covering that up for this long, show was suppose to have ended seasons ago. Not to mention they'll just use cheap CGI anyways.

Also checkout clip "Clark Sees Clark" there is Blue Kryptonite on his glasses but not enough "supposedly" to fully mask his powers. Only to make him appear more Earth-like than Kryptonian.

@superman2k06 Nice theory but your wrong, because the color isn't blue, its white it looks blue because of the lighting, look closely in clark sees clark and otherwise look at clark in season 9 idol clip where he puts on the glasses, it's definitly silver white color but nice theory though.

After seeing this episode (when it was first aired), I've never been able to get rid of the idea that Smallville (cast & crew) has been hinting toward different plot devices throughout its seasons. Oddly enough, back when Clark stepped into a "World Without Superman" I had a thought that maybe there was a reason for Blue Kryptonite after all and this clip reimburses that theory. Notice the GLASSES. Unfortunately, everything is up to perspective and I'm not much for spoilers. Already knew?? damn

@Philtheguy That song *IS* Superman. It's too iconic for them not to use it - and I agree, it would work great for a finale because it would drive home the fact that Clark's journey is complete and that he has "earned" the theme by becoming Superman at last. ^_^
