  • thanks for this. Ive used quite a few video editors over the years and most of them I did not need a manual for as they were intuitive and logical. Avid, on the other hand is the most un intuitive screwed up interface Ive seen. I used it years ago and Im starting to use it again cause Ive been forced into it. Ive now got another time consuming niggly learning experience ahead of me to get simple editing done. Thanks for your tutorial here. It would have taken me days to figure this out.

  • Doesn't work for me! I keep trying to follow your directions, and my green screen vid keeps over-riding my background. I created the extra video track but the clip refuses to seat inside it. What am I missing that you aren't telling? I have Avid Composer Version 2.5.3, btw. HELP!!

  • It took me hours of fiddling, but I discovered the missing ingredient--that you need to mention!--at least for my version: if you want to be able to drag/drop into the video track of your choosing you can't just be in overwrite (red arrow) mode, you also need to be in trim mode (as opposed to source/record mode). Once you're dropped you can go back to Source/Record.

  • Thank you very much! Very helpful!
