  • This is pure bullshit. When a rapper like 5 years from now samples the audio, the double standard will get even more hilarious.

  • You're still missing the point: I agree, Imus can say whatever he wants. And so can I. And I'm saying that Imus has no place on radio or television speaking like that. I'm not forcing radio and tv stations to do what I say.

    Furthermore, freedom of speech - as guaranteed under the First Amendment - is about being able to say and write whatever you want. It is not, and never was, about being paid millions of dollars a year to do that.

  • Actually, it's not called freedom of speech. Freedom of speech means you can say whatever you want, without the government arresting, fining, or interfering with you. No one is telling Imus he can't say whatever he wants to say. But that doesn't mean he's entitled to talk on the radio, and make millions of dollars doing that. That's up to radio and tv stations, and to the public.
