While I am not a big fan of big oil we need to understand that oil companies are publicly traded and legally accountable to the shareholders. Its sole purpose is to make shareholders more money. Ever notice when big companies announce huge layoffs and the next day the value of their stocks shoot up? What is good for big business is not necessarily good for people. Obviously their business model is short sighted and hurts them in the long run but in short run it makes people money! Greed?
The last time I checked, collusion is still ileagal in this country. The oil companies are all in collusion to rip us off and the Government is letting them do it.
And no I don't have one, I am just a stay at home mom that use to work at several, years ago and still help out with one every once in awhile. So ur right to be mad at the oil co. but they r not the owners of the station. And the station is the one letting go of people. By the way I know of a real clean gas station. :) Rare I know! Part 2 of my comment: its the owners of the gas station. I am really surprise you still have full service. All gas stations here have gone to self serve years ago. Anyway, your station you visited today is probably privately owned and is hurting for money, plus min. wage has gone up! Which is a good thing but it hurts the privately owned business.
whoa your really upset huh? Well I totally agree with being upset. But I want to clear something up for you. All of these gas stations you see on the side of the road, are not owned buy the Oil Companies. Most of them are privately owned and the owners have to pay the oil companies for the gas that goes in the ground. When prices go up for us they also go up for the owners. So yes the oil company gets most of the profit not the gas stations. So its not the oil company cutting back ...cont
also i read that they say its a shortage only because our major supplier of fuel is the miidle east but we still have oil supplies in America that we dont use its a vicous cycle and it always effects the little guy.
