The best live show in 1980 of Led Zeppelin was is Frankfurt. That was the best concert in 1980 period. I have the whole show on CD, it's amazing. Jimmy Page, despite the heroin hampering with his playing, was playing like a monster. Just check out "Led Zeppelin Live Frankfurt, Germany 1980 Rock And Roll" I swear any Zep fan will cum.

I don't think this was an off night. Remember, this is audience soundboard, so it's obviously not good quality, or what you would have heard had you been in that audience. Also, Jimmy, during the 77' tour, had a bad cocaine or heroin addiction; one of the two. Aaand most of the songs they play, rain song, over the hills, stairway, are songs they have been playing 5-6 years, so I can't blame them if it doesn't sound as good as other performances.

The really tragic thing is that we see these guys doin' their thing so often and their faces plastered everywhere that we tend to forget they are human. You know how the rumour goes. All of em sold their souls except for Jonesy and the worst thing he came out with after 12 years was a sprained wrist. By "sold their souls" I mean that they sold out to Mammon. Even they admitted this to be true. Hard to blame em when it was staring them in the face.

are you watching the SAME vid as me ?? Plant is TOTALLY in the Celtic Rock God mode..he's totally rocking this song. Bonzo is BONZO...totally throwing down (0:14 - 0:24 for example). Check 0:43 and then 4:04 - 4:14 and try to tell me PAGE isn't on fire!? Off night? Mellow?? Dewd, there is nothing of either on this song.

I was at that show and I remember that is was actually very low energy. First, though, the acoustics in the Kingdom were really bad; for anyone who played there,not just for LZ. For some reason, the synergy between the band just wasn't there that night. Like someone else said, it was just an off night. It was sad though, because that was the last time they ever played Seattle, or America for that matter [tragically,Robert's son died just 2 weeks after this concert] and they never came back.

hi ya Nicole..the LAST show EVER of John Henry Bonham's LedZeppelin was on July 24TH in OAKLAND. Zep played there on JULY 23RD as well. In between your show at the Kingdome, and Oakland, they played a gig at the University of ARIZONA (Phoenix). Karac fell ill with a mysterious stomach ailment on July 26, and succombed to it the next day (27th). Zep were to play in New Orleans. Slainte

Yes, I read where they had played at Oakland and that is where John B, Richard Cole and some roadies but up one of Bill Graham's employees so bad that it put him in the hospital. I remember reading that Robert had left for New Orleans after that show [& after the university show?] .They lived on a sheep farm and I wondered if Karac contracted e-Coli; such a tragedy. Watch "I Believe" if you haven't seen it. It makes you feel so much compassion for Robert and his family

I am a huge zeppelin fan, have been since my early teens, but I have to say this, I wouldn't rate this as their best live performance, most of the songs I have watched/listened to on youtube from this show in seattle 1977 have sounded a bit rough around the edges, like they were all to loaded on booze and drugs to realize/care that they weren't playing on the ball like they usually always did...

Still though, you are bound to have good and bad nights when touring the world all the time!!
