@hoppercap no he's not. period. jordan is better and so are others in my opinion like wilt, kobe, russel, hakeem, and magic. and highlight reels sure larry has some great passes but i think dr.j and dominique wilkins (the highligh reel) were better .....soo no
Larry Bird was the modern day Rick Barry. Both were firery competitors with a shot from anywhere on the court. Who knows how many points Barry would have retired with if he had a 3-point line
See this is proof that people thought he was the greatest player ever in 87. that was the year his back started to give out, he was still amazing but he never regained his '86 form. People have selective memories But Bird from 80-87 and most espescially 84-87 is the second best all around player who ever lived. Jordan at 1.
@pablocoon What also hurt Bird in 87 was his key backup off the bench, Scott Wedman, suffered a career ending injury in the 86 playoffs. Bird was having to play more and fatigue got the best of him some time. By the time the Celtics were able to get support off the bench too much had been taken out of him.
I think Jordan is better, than Larry.
