Volkswagen Touareg V10 TDI Pikes Peak Racer

Now that's a nice sound! Does anyone know if this car is rear-engine like the Trophy Truck Touaregs? I've been trying to figure out if this, and the "Race Touaregs" from Dakar are front or rear-engine, and I can't! Even in the pics with the cladding taken off, there's to damn much tubing in the way to see. The snorkel on the Race Touareg 3 goes into the hood, but that might not mean anything.

@justforever96 Not the same as the "Dakar " race Touareg. This Touareg is a standard road-legal Touareg with the standard V10 TDI. It was VW's entry for the PPIHC in 2006 and ran to the top in 14m8s!

I mic'd directly over the injection pump in the engine bay. That's why the diesel sounds are so loud. The vehicle is MUCH quieter on the outside and from inside the cabin.

The video is a little underwhelming because it was supposed to be a test video for camera mount, new mic etc. The slow jeep was just an excuse for a high speed test. How it ended up on YouTube is a mystery, since I didn't post it. However, It would be nice if Volkswagen member gave me props. (hint hint)

This is the 2006 V10 TDI Pikes Peak Int'l hill climb vehicle. I should know: I filmed it. The reason for all of the raw engine noise is because of the location of the mic. I placed it under the hood on the right side. From the outside, the engine is QUIET, only giving a hint to its' origins with a little throttle.
