Dude! been trying to get a hold of Marcus or Jeff for a long time. Anyone know how to get a hold of them? I was in the band Wickeds End and played some shows with them, you can check out our stuff on my space
By the way, Mister Jim, since you seem to be in the know bout the band, on the off chance you know where I can find Chris, can you let him know that Clint and Karen would like to catch up with him. Tell him our oldest is growing his hair, shredding on electric guitar and begging to go to Metallica in December. Chris would be so proud... since my son is a big Robert Trujillo fan, and Suicidal tendancies used to be one of Chris' fave bands...
Mister Jim, just to clarify, as I understood from Chris Marcus joined after Martyr broke up, but it could be as you said that he was part of the death rattle of Martyr, but I'm pretty sure Marcus was part of Deliverance first, because I remember Chris talking about him when Chris was still the drum tech for Martyr, but hey I guess Marcus could have gone back to Deliverance...
Hey irnmaidn, this is from a demo. These guys put out at least 2 albums and toured the world getting paid to play music and share their message as they saw fit. What have you ever accomplished? Why don't you go back to your poser life as a guitar hero master and leave the music to people who can actually play something other than an ipod. This band paid their dues, and it wasn't all puppies and daiseys for them. Chris if you are out there, hit me up buddy. Oh yeah, my kid digs it too! K says hi!
I was good friends with Chris Ackerman, the lead singer of Betrayal at Bethany University, then Bethany Bible College. Originally Martyr was out of Porterville, and Chris was part of the road crew and a drum tech if I remember right. Anyway in about 90 or 91 the lead singer of Martyr split with the band and Chris stepped up to do vocals, plus they added Marcus Colon on guitar from the Christian thrash band Deliverance and thus Betrayal was born.
Just to clarify, Marcus Colon was a member of Martyr also. After David Prado left the band Marcus and the remaining members formed Betryal. Initially they were calling themselves Martyr but objections from Prado resulted in the band changing the name to Betryal. After the demise of Betrayal, Marcus joined Deliverance for a short while in 95/96.
Thanks for posting this. It's nearly impossible to find anything Betrayal-related on the net. Such an underrated band that few people even know about... Even among Christian metal circles, they don't seem to be all that well known.
Is this a demo track? It sounds a lot different then the album version. Frankly, not nearly as good, but it's cool to see this on here anyway.
The audio is possibly from the "Reviling Darkness" Demo.
I saw on Firestream(dot)Net that there's supposedly 2 more full-length albums "Leaving Nevermore" and "In Remembrance of Me"... but I've never been able to track down a copy of either and am starting to doubt their existence : (
i remember Martyr played a show at our highschool during the lunch hour, back in the day (long time ago LOLZ) and there was a giant mosh pit and the faculty had to finally end the show when they couldn't control it. it was huge.
No they don't. This is just a bad demo track. Track down the 2 albums(renaissance by death & the passing) they put out and you might change your opinion. They were a solid Christian thrash metal band.
i uploaded martyr - wickenstraut ;).. so i you all like martyr you have to check it out :D
