  • KILL THE WABBIT, KILL THE WABBIT, KILL THE WAAAABIT

  • I greatly enjoy listening to this while plotting revenge.

  • @vitaminB100 I greatly enjoy listening to this acting out revenge.

  • Ugh. I'm so sick of seeing Hitler's name mentioned wherever Wagner's music is discussed. Wagner knew nothing about what would transpire in the next century. Hitler was a master at distorting historical fact to support HIS present fiction. He took many things and twisted them to support his philosophy...that which he could not use...or that which contradicted Nazi beliefs was simply swept under the carpet. Stop the Hitler crap please.

  • @alternatehistories Hitler.

  • @alternatehistories I agree with what you're saying, but for some reason when I read it it reminds me of Malcolm McDowell from ClockWork Orange. The scene when he's strapped to the chair with the head piece on clamping his eyelids open and they're showing him all these nazis scenes with Ode to Joy in the background. Valid point you make though, none the less

  • This song always plays in my head whenever I'm downtown fighting crime in my boots and cape.

  • @davesantiagallery i get the "imperial march" playing in my head

  • Was Wagner Fränkisch or Bayrisch?

  • hitler is dead get over it, lunatic

  • @franca20comer nope hes hangin with elvis and MJ

  • HITLER WAS ONE OF THE MOST INTELIGENT AND AMAZING PERSON OF ALL TIMES....IS A SHAME HE USED THOSE GIFTS FOR WAR AND DEATH....

  • @antoniogarciaflorida sieg heil!!

  • @antoniogarciaflorida He may have had a lot of early success but his tactical mistakes and disregard for Napoleons own failures shows that in the end he was not as intelligent as he may have seemed.

  • best song for chopper gunner in mw2

  • ummm....so who's singin'?

  • What are the Valkyries?

  • @nikitannenkov

Valkyries come from Norse mythology. They are female figures who choose who dies in battle and then they guide them into Valhalla.

  • A great performance !!!!!

  • AMAZING!!!!!

  • um, it's missin cantabile

  • Let the battlecries fill the skies

    Let the warbanners fly high

    Let the spear lunge

    the sword strike

the shield be the wall of blight

We shall do it again till Ragnarök

  • In the name of our fathers

    and legacy of our children

    under the arms of woden

    to the seas

    Let us ride to Valhalla

  • Ah yes, I can just see those Hueys charging towards the beach firing away at the VC!!!

  • @ryanspeed : "run charlie!"

  • You smell that? Smells like napalm. I love the smell of napalm in the morning. Smellls like victory.

  • its better than furtwanglers version i think.

  • i've tried eight versions now, and youtube will not let me upload a video with ride of the valkyries on it. i thought it was public domain, but warner music group seems to own the recording of every version out there. this is the only song that i will allow on my latest animation, but i can't find a version that youtube doesn't turn around and immediately mute. what do i have to do? where can i find a recording of this song that actually is in the public domain?

  • If youtube is honestly telling you that "Flight of the Valkyries" is copyrighted, then they are lying. My guess is that they are so scared of lawsuits they just take down first and ask questions later. Wagner died in 1883. Any possible copyright that existed on his music itself expired in 1953.

Now specific performances of the piece might be copyrighted. Such copyrights are unconstitutional in my opinion, but they do exist.

There are thousands of recordings that are public domain.

  • WMG doesn't claim to own the song, but they claim ownership of any recording of the song they've ever sold in a collection. this includes the london philharmonic, budapest symphony orchetra, and even the youtube symphony orchestra. i had to find an obscure recording, but i found one they would let me upload. it's all bullshit anyway. it's not like i'm selling my animation with thier music, but now that yotube earns $ from adds, they have to do that so as not to get litigated.

  • @jdlund

Lots of companies OWNING tunes like "Wheels on the Bus."

All the world cares about is lawsuits because someone stepped on their toe.

  • Well I'm pretty sure that no one owns the Wheels on the Bus nursery rhyme itself. Like a lot of nursery rhymes who knows where the song even originally came from. Kids were probably singing a similar tune about wagons a couple hundred years ago, who knows.

Same is true with Wagner, individual performaces of the song can be someone's copyrighted work. But if you recorded your orchestra playing Wagner you could sell it without a care in the world. Same with wheels on a bus. No one owns it.

  • Its great when those flying bugs attack in Halo ODST firefight. that makes me think of this song

    lol

  • same.

  • Smell the ashes

  • this makes a good battle music. especially when u blow stuffs up

  • i love the smell of napalm in the morning!

  • It smells like victory!

  • Ash

  • I loved listening to this full blast in the car with all the windows rolled down

  • Many many artists, scientists etc. were misused by the nazis... that does not make their work nationalsocialist

  • And many many scientists where abducted by the U.S. and forced to work.

  • Who are you talking about? Honestly name one.

  • OH my GOD ...very very good...

  • göttlich..

    Das ist noch wahre Musik.!

  • Franco liked the paintings by Velasquez.

    Burn them all !

  • Stalin loved Charlie Chaplin, so therefore all these movies must be utterly destroyed ?

  • kim jon ill is a basketball fan so should we ban basketaball

  • I didnt know John Wayne wrote music ... and before anyone gets bent out of shape check out the pictures as they scroll by.

  • Charles Manson was a huge Beatles fan. So should we call the Beatles murderers?

  • Actually, from what I understand Charles Manson wasn't a fan of the Beatles.

    Though, your point remains valid.

  • Hitler had good taste in many fine things.

It probably bothers people that he was a derranged madman who tried to exterminate Jews from the face of the planet.

  • @lococowduh the jaws NEED hitler . they elevate him up to grand devil status. 500 years from now, if jaws still inhabit the earth, hitler will be 20' tall, and the tales will be that he ATE 6 billion jews, ALIVE!

  • @TravellerFellow

    jaws??

  • @Myles0Harcourt ha ha ha maybe you need to buy a vowel! ;)

  • @Myles0Harcourt

    Buy a vowel?

You were the one who called them"Jaws" in the first place.

  • Hitler had good taste in music. I don't know why that bothers people.

  • Even though he composed for Hitler, you have to appreciate the genius of Wagner. Nibelungenleid is a fantastic opera.

  • Wagner died in 1883, Hitler was born in 1889. Go figure.

  • @sensordev - Go figure what? I was born in 1963 the same year Jack Kennedy died - go figure. Some people should have their keyboards confiscated.

  • @poissonnoir

Read the post before my comment, a year ago yet. You have to look back through the thread to understand. I shouldn't have to explain this.

  • @sensordev - If you dont want to explain, dont post. As it stands, your post makes no sense. And if u think I'm going to search further for more nonsense, think again.

  • @poissonnoir, you don't have to search for nonsense, you post it. :-)

  • @sensordev nazism began before hitler

  • @jou1900 No it didn't.

  • @jou1900 1919 I believe. They were called the Thule society.

  • @sensordev and weird how Hitler loved Wagner's music...

  • @sweetness902101209 doesn't everyone?

  • @JohannGasmask are you suggesting Wagner composed through a Ouija board? Richard Wagner died 5 or 6 years before Hitler was even born!!!

  • @PodestaNin he`s an idiot

  • from NIBELUNGEN

  • He looks like John Wayne at 0:25 and Yoda at 0:19, Im not making fun of him I'm just saying when the pics are this wide it makes people look wierd, great music

  • The John Wayne,Yoda comment gave me the best belly laugh I ever had watching youtube.Hilarious!!

  • Yea it craks me up every time I watch it

  • Triumph of the music

  • Idiot.

  • This rendition is a curious hybrid of the operatic and the concert versions. I appreciate Stokowski's tempo and cadences which demonstrate the construction of the work but the hybridization detracts from the appreciation of it.

  • This music was made in XIX Century.Good art doesn't gets older.

  • LOl i dont think many people knew this but youre so proud of "the aryan spirit" and all that stuff that you never researched itand found out that the true aryan people where actually indians.

  • BAHAHAHAH ROFLMAOOOO HAHAHAH funny guy :')

  • I don't care. That's mine also. Oh by the way, Hitler also loved fresh water.

  • hehe you guys really hate him eh?

  • @Ritzounett Coincidentally, I prefer salt water.

  • the interpretation of stokowski is at the opposite of Furtwangler, but no less extraodinary

  • This music was composed, in XIX Century.Great art doesn't gets older.

  • Beacoloratura ... the singers were Martina Arroyo, Carlotta Ordassy, Doris Yarick, Betty Allen, Doris Okerson, Regina Sarfaty, Shirley Verrett-Carter, Louise Parker ... from RCA, with Stokowski and the Symphony of the Air, recorded 1961.

  • This music was cmposed in XIX Century and used on american movie "Apocalipse now" about 100 years later.Great art doesn't gets older.

  • One of the best Walkürenritt I have heard. A lot of drama!

  • As Toscanini once said-Wagner,as a composer I take my hat off to you,but as a man-I put it back on twice. Hail the enlightened views of the genious that was Toscanini! Musically and intellectually he was a very special human being.

  • Who are the singers, pray?

  • I've always felt that Stokowski best captured the Aryan spirit of Wagner, unlike the mechanical and soul-less interpretations of the Jewish conductors like Solti. Too bad he never recorded an entire Ring cycle.

  • Germans were not Aryans, bur Iranians are. What then of Kirsten Flagstad the greatest of all Wagner sopranos. Was she then also inferior being Norwegian? What of the Danish Melchior, the Swedish Nillson. You are a bigoted fool!

  • Iranians are Persian

  • ACtually it's more correct to say that Perians are part of the larger Iranian group of peoples. Iran means Land of the Aryans. historical Aryans were spread out around the caucasus to central asia.

  • the word iran means something like land of the aryans

  • I thought Iran was past tense for Irun...

  • they are different conductors with different styles, being Jewish or not has little to do with it.

  • First of all, being Jewish has nothing to do with interpretation. Second of all, to say that Solti's interpretation of Wagnerian music drama is soul-less and mechanical could not be further from the truth. There is not a more passionate interpretation than that of Solti's. Also, what do you mean when you say Aryan spirit? Finally, I would like to say that, even though you may not mean it that way, your comment appears very prejudiced.

  • You're using the term "Aryan" wrong. If you say the German spirit, that would make more sense, because I am German and respond very strongly to Wagner. Also, to say that everyone of the Jews have no conception of Wagner is ignorant and racist. Even if Wagner said it, it doesn't mean that it's right. I personally believe that Solti was one of the greatest Wagnerian conductors. Just listen to the Solti Ring Cycle, prejudices aside. You find a gem. I can guarantee that.

  • I'm basing my listening experience only on what I hear. In fact, when I listened to Solti's Ring Cycle first, I didn't know he was Jewish. In terms of finding the Solti Ring wanting. I do agree that Das Rheingold wasn't as mystically sounding as it should be, but the last three music dramas are supposed to be down to Earth and fierce. That was how Solti conducted them. Also, when I get at calling you a racist, I'm saying that that could interfere with just listening to the piece.

  • Such a euphism,

The representaion of to be used as an assult endorphine is a F*****G great, but in reality!!!!

Look at what Wagners expreses about LIFE and the actual meaning.

Rise to life after death. Or as in most casese the MILITARY the attack rhythm of FEAR

  • this guy was such a psycho, i was being taught about the ring today.

  • Psychotic in morality, but a genius in music.

  • yeah true, he tried out new things, i respect him for that.

  • what was Wagner's birth and death dates? I am just curious, I like to know interesting stuff like that....=)

  • 22 May 1813, Leipzig, Germany - 13 February 1883, Venice, Italy

  • Born May 22, 1813; Died Feb 13, 1883!

  • Stokowski made 'another' piece.

    Thanks for upload! :)

  • this is soooooo amazing i love it!

  • mozart's requiem is the awesomest song. evanescence made their rendition of it. heh.

"lacrymosa" its a metal version and stuff. pretty cool.

  • Exciting to say the least.

  • Appart from Mozarts Reqiuem, this is the best symphony ever made!

  • Die Walkure is an opera; not a symphony.
