  • how much to get in?

  • anyone get stopped by the fucking ad

  • Check out Chaffee Kid: Play By The Rules, on youtube. Very HIP with a GREAT message! YOU WON'T BE SORRY!

  • that sooo right!

    love it !!!

  • I'm so fed up with the myths about the sixties. Most hated the music of Hendrix & Joplin. Most did not use drugs (addicts were just too stoned to realize otherwise). Most women remained virgins until marrage. Few drove VW beatles or buses, much less painted ones. Few wore gaudy cloths. Many thought Kennedy was a war-monger. Nixon had his supporters. Most did not protest war. Many volunteered for military service. Ultimately, music was the only true common bond between youth of that generation.

  • I got to agree. they were just naive lazy people who are every bit as greedy and hypocrtical as televangelists. Their real legacy was the national debt.

  • THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......finally a rational person with a clear outlook on this crap

  • Were you alive and witnessing the 60's?

I'm not saying this because I don't agree with you. I wasn't alive in the 60's so I would exactly know. I'm just honestly curious if that's really true. So please don't take this comment the wrong way; I just wanna know.

  • I was alive and witnessed the 60's. Being a musician perhaps I have a better appreciation for the contributions in music from that era. The biggest and most successful bands of the 20th century performed during the late 60's and ealy 70's. Most successful bands of today list their influences as bands of that era or bands influenced by bands of that era. I;m not sure where Stewx5 and Andy the Baron where during this time unless it was Podunk, cause if you were on the west coast or East coast ...

  • ...Most rocked to Jimi and Janis

if you didnt smoke pot you drank beer and wine

there was alot more beetles and buses on the road than there are today

    Kennedy was a war monger

Nixon had no supporters (he was impeached for crying out loud!)

Most spoke out against the war (including parents)

Few volunteered to fight (there was a draft and most were pressed into service)

  • TheVampClan > "Were you alive and witnessing the 60's?"

Grew up in California & attended college there (participating in a few protests) during late 60's. After college, enlisted into Army in 1970 & attended military job (MOS) training on East coast. Eventually sent to Europe, not Vietnam. Returned to California & college after leaving military in late 1973. Those travels allowed me to see youth in several parts of country during that period. Depiction in my previous comment is what I saw.

  • gtfo.

  • haha your retarded

  • Very cool. My mentor taught Janis Joplin in Beaumont Tx high school english. She said Janis was not the ideal student but very creative. =0) Kinda neat.

  • Woodstock rocks on!

  • That museum looks like it smells.

  • gay

  • Hippies are dirt balls

and need to buy a bar of soap

  • Emo kids would be dirty also if they logged off myspace long enough to go outside.

  • lol

    true

  • A museum exhibit dedicated to Woodstock. Whatever. Enough with with glorifying the drugged up counter-culture that helped shapped the more negative aspects of culture in the US today. It was dirty druggy hippies in a muddy field listening to a concert. It was a small sign of the times, not a reason for the times. It put a few musicians on the map. Otherwise, not worthy of a museum piece in my opinion.

  • nazi

  • go fuck yourself you fucking slave go to your little 9 to 5

  • your a loser

go slave to your soup kitchen

  • You have a point, though I think you're too severe. One would hope that the museum would include some perspective that didn't simply reinforce all the self-indulgence.

  • myron i will do anything if you let me play grand theft auto sanandres

  • cool thing

  • babyboomers........greedy self centered spoiled sell outs who's hypocritical ways accomplished nothing but hardship for others...mofos will sell thier mother for a buck.....and they destroyed the entire classic car hobby LOL 500K for a camaro!

  • I'm one and I agree in a sense. Most people subconsciously figured they had put alll there energies on War protest. we lost our sense of responsibility. Others just got greedy.

The politicians took advantage of this apathy and the BB's really didn't look. Too stoned. Pathetic and commercialized.

  • In what way? And also in what ways did the pre-boomer not ruin the country first? Was it the military industrial complex they created or the complete and total dependancy on foreign oil? Or was it the peak of racism? Was it the creation and election of government leaders who destroyed the US currency and the gold standard? Was it the conception and institution of the IRS and the Federal Reserve Bank (the most corrupt corporations on earth)?

  • Or maybe it was Roosevelt's gold confiscation where every American citizen was required under penalty of lifetime imprisonment to turn over all his and his families gold to the Federal Corporation (oops-I mean government)?

Tell me, in what way did the Baby Boomers "ruin the fucking country" and not the pre-Baby Boomers?

  • u can say PRE.......since they are the ones who raised these hypocrites....Its too bad the wealthy ones gave little back - even after learning the ways of Peace and Love...

  • They didn't only "raise" them; they beat them, raped them, abused them, sent them to corrupt pharmaceutical industry controlled western doctors and psychiatrists, got them addicted to pharmaceutical psych drugs, imprisoned them in the corrupt public school system, taught them to be dependent on foreign oil & to believe in the corrupt private banking & Federal Reserve Bank controlled two-party political system, they created & allowed the Federal Reserve Bank to control their lives & their debt,

  • ... they voted corrupt & evil political leaders into office, they destroyed the gold standard which in-turn completely devaluated their money making it worthless, they failed to make sure that their public school system taught them to be multi-lingual at a very early age so that they would have infinite opportunities to travel, live & work abroad without being a slave & entrapped into corporate America's IRS tax database and and and...

Shit, did they have a chance?

  • I guess they could have just joined the Military Industrial Complex which Eisenhower warned them about an hour before he left office and then things would have been just peachy.

  • just breath into this paper bag and no more watching cartoons for you.

  • Just take the blue pill and wash it down with some Kool-Aid. Everything is going to just fine. Go back to sleep.

  • This is where Jizz In My Pants was first performed live !! Thats why people are still talking about it .

  • search for "Blue Siberia" on Youtube. peer into a very cool kaleidoscope that never repeats itself.

  • I eat my own poo ;) hehe

  • waking up to Jimi Hendrix playing the Star Spangled Banner above my head was one of the highlights of my life

  • Amazing moment. You were privileged to be there.

  • Ha! I was part of the crew that did the archaeological field testing so that they could build the museum!

  • I remember thinking the world was catching fire, and I was terrified by the assanations. All these people on here complaining about selling out. They have never seen bodies coming back from a war, and get upset if their cable TV goes out for an hour. Go away.

  • :58

    Cream: Disraeli Gears

The Jimi Hendrix Experience: Are You Experienced

    Great Albums

  • The very best!

  • woodstock was the largest gathering of people that werent trying to kill eachother for a war. that is history and hippies did that so deal with it they were smarter than most of u hypocrites will ever be because they understood life

  • Actually the Isle of Wight Festival had more people

  • ah yes sorry forgot about that

  • Thank your lucky stars that large numbers of people assembled to protect your comfortable, clueless life. You clearly have something to add to your understanding of life.

  • 10 more years and it will be the big 50. Life is really short. Oh wait. the world may end in 2012. Oh wel... DOH!

  • go to search now THE GUIDIS IN TUBE ...

  • youtube ar vedio kivabe download kore?

  • i think what most young people forget is that this was supposed to be an imminent failure. this was beyond music. it was a political movement in respects to what that generation sought out after. this was NOT supposed to be successful. that's why this is of such historical importance. what was supposed to be a disaster turned out to be three days of a sharing community in harmony, with good music as a background soundtrack.

  • Jeez! why is everyone shitting on this anniversary thing, just stop it! so they were hippies who got high a lot, it's part of the decade. Did everyone forget why this was so important, it was the music and how the thousands of people together got along with no fights. Unlike now where if anyone is pissed off they grab a gun shoot somebody to fix there stupid problem. Don't reply with something rude, i'll just block you..

  • I agree, I wen't to 94 it was cool, 99 was just a big corporate clusterfuck, it was only to make money, the beer at least was somewhat cheap ($5), but a cheap dish of "chinese like" food was $10, bottled water around $4, cigarettes were like $2 more. No wonder why everyone was pissed. I also live in Woodstock NY, half are cool people, the other half, rip offs, scam artists, beggars, and legends in there own minds.

  • "hippicrates" Where are they Now! They are in charge now! so?.......sold out! About to retire and use up all of S.S. for the rest of us 35 and younger! Thanx alot boomers! luv Gen X / Y

  • They all sold out. They dont talk about the federal reserve or who puts these people in office or AIPAC or anything. There all wealthy, stuck up, Sold out Mercedes driving cock selling sell outs.

  • DAMN STRAIGHT!!!!!

Or, as the "Woodstock Nation" would say, "Like, uh, groovy maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnn!"

  • ah the sixties. nothing beats the sixties.

  • to each their own, you fucking asshole

  • mellow out man, you're killing the spirit of woodstock. just ignore the dude.

  • a lot of people like joplin and crosby bud... just because you dont doesn't mean nobody does. obviously people dont get the message that was trying to be put from woodstock. and obviously it hasnt carried over with assholes like you. at least respect the music man, even if you dont like, just respect it.

  • lkkjl

  • aatto... you are why I hate white Americans... and I'm a white American!!

  • peer into a striking kaleidoscope, it never repeats itself, search for "Blue Siberia"

  • 78oop7

  • You see what the guy with the glasses is talking about? Thats never going to happen again because this generation is growing up with too much technology that really sets apart the connection with love, one of the things about Woodstock. Not to mention the bad music these days too...

  • couldn't agree with you more, man. the music these days generally has no connection to art or emotion, and live gigs and concerts are brought to a minimum... such a shame.

  • keller williams, phish, string cheese incident, dave matthews band, snoop dog, michael franti and spearhead, widespread panic. its not ALL bad, but in general i agree with you

  • i'd rather have technology than fake nasty 'love'..if i want love, i can see my family, not random creepy people

  • Great response

  • Technology is problematic, but so is drug-fueled escapism. Yeah, there was lots of great music back then, but there was also a lot of self-indulgence and naivete, to put it kindly.

  • i bet there was alot of drugs at woodstock...

  • Ya think?

  • So, you somewhat were there XD

  • Someone invent a fucking time machine. I need to be there!

  • أهلا أهلا وسهلا بكم جميعا

  • Comment removed

  • Don't give me this shit. You don't believe, yeah right, - if you meant that, you wouldn't do even this one.

  • Cool! I'll have to check out that museum this summer. :)

  • I find it ironic how their intent was to promote peace yet some of the drugs they bought kind of fueled ongoing drug wars down South.

  • fuck YOU

  • awesome!

  • Comparing then to now, I'd say maybe wide scale usage of LSD might help everyone get along. The whole concept of Red states and Blue states would be replaced with a groovy kaleidoscope and of course a fiery dragon eating your consciousness, but hey you take the good with the bad.

  • sounds pretty good to me
