NHL rule book says goalies are not fair play when they are out of the crease. I thought the hit was clearly intentional since he could've mad a move to his left or right and it would've been incidental contact- that is allowed and not penalized although a goal maybe wouldn't count. He got what he deserved a two minute charge and maybe he should a get a small fine although mr. Campbell will make sure that lucic gets away cleanly.

What was the penalty for? All it could really be is charging, it can't just be a general "roughing the goalie" since he was so far out of his crease.

This was only a penalty b/c it was charging, Lucic skated the entire ice before the hit and had a ton of speed. You still must follow the rules (no elbowing, hitting from behind, charging, etc.) but you can hit goalies.
