@KingMelonRocks It's not a good idea to pick up a sloth. Their fur aren't really hygienical(?). They can have fleas and some organisms living in there. I would do the same thing as they did(or better, take some large cloth blanket and drag the corners when the sloth is on top of it.)

Think he was just trying to guide the sloth so it wouldn't get run over. Picking it up wouldn't be wise since sloth fur carries a lot of fungi and parasites and things that eat parasites.

Not that I'm for poking at sloths with sticks. I'd personally just film the poor thing from a distance and not antagonize it, but I don't think the people in the video were trying to hurt it or anything, and the intention is what counts, ultimately. What else do you expect people to do.

Well, you are right. However, if i am not wrong, infested sloths can be visually "detected" (color, fur facture etc.) . Clear sloths can be taken by hands without danger.

Looks to me like the Sloth got to wherever it was on it's own. I think the people videoing pulled over to the side of the road to safely guide it across so it wouldn't get hit. That's what it looks like to me. It's possible that the Sloth is sick and maybe that's why it's not in the trees? Plus I'm assuming they have to come down from the trees sometimes? I don't know much about Sloths .. *shrugs*

A: its never a good idea to interfeir with nature more than you have to. Letting it walk itself is much better than picking it up.
