Are you a pilot? I'm just curious, if so what planes do you fly? I had about 11 hours total time on this flight, it was my first cross-country, and we were doing emergency procedures. The instructor cut the engine out simulating an engine failure and I was trying to make the runway. Had it been a real emergency I wouldn't have made it....
Yah I'm a pilot with 55 hours and not soloed yet. Age rules. You should have explained it was a simulated emergency, otherwise people like me can get confused.
Actually, scubakobe, you're a "Student" pilot at this point. When did you start flying? Where do you fly out of? When you turn 16 you can solo; and, when you turn 17, you oughta ACE the test portions.
Hey tough stuff, I'm not a pilot and have never been in a plane before. I am however going to school to be an aeronautical engineer. We took the official FAA exam for our final in my Elements of Flight Theory class because most of the class are pilots. I got a perfect 100 because I studied, so obviously your score doesn't make you a good pilot.
I love Runway5 approach

NEVER try to stretch the glide it is certain death.
Not to say that I haven't done the same thing during my training.
Good luck with your training.

What was up with the stall before you got over the threshold? Speed got pretty low! Looked like 50-55 knots.

I'm terribly sorry, I'm not a pilot.
