I barely listened and found three errors in this expert's information. You do NOT need to wait until your taxes are done to file. Filing early will NOT impact the amount of Pell or Stafford loan are just two things wrong. Stay away from these people - they charge for a FREE FORM!!
does any one know what to do if you do not fall into the independant/dependant areas truthfully. i am under 24 and neither parent supports me also i am not a ward of the state. so i am totally clueless as to what i am.
Yeah, that's been the same for me since I started college. My parents don't give me a cent but unfortunately you have to file as a dependant and get their information. Sucks because it means you may get less money because of their income that it'll show that they support you with. But that's what you'll have to do. Good luck!
You're definitely right about not rushing through the application. Any little mistake can take a while to be corrected through FAFSA and then your school. All that does is delay the process of receiving your award letter in the mail. Great Advice!!
You're definitely right about tip #2, in one of the questions it asked about my family size and without reading it right I entered the wrong number and was then told by the school that i needed to go back and fix it before they can determine my financial aid packet. And now I need to wait for my pin number again before I can make the corrections, which will result in more delays to my packet. Anyhow, great advice!!

Do you get less money from Fafsa if you have money saved up from the pell grant and put it into a student savings and checkings account?
