first zoom then push and hold the firng button then there will be a crosshair above the circle move YOUR crosshair in it and relase the button(huh this was a bit difficult do you understood it?) but this is only good for standing enemies otherwise you need to have some skill

i mean 2gb, many have 4gb which is overkill for some games,

HD 4870 quite high gaming but better performance than the geforce 8800 garbage,

3.1ghz cpu, or 3.0ghz you can get for £60 on amazon easily, and 750w PSU, get one for quite cheap, i will be building the same computer as he is for this game, looks great

You don't need that big PSU. 500-550W should do fine.

yeah but i was told when i was building my computer for starters the GPU takes alot of power, whatever system you build, whether 8800 or a 4870, generally they talk about load here.

as well they said that you need rails, which is the amount of power actually supplied to the unit, so for a geforce 8800 you need a 24amp something like that,to run it or you will end up with a good PSU but not enough rails or amps to run it on..

Yes you just need good quality PSU. If it can supply enough amps it's good. I have 550W LC-Power PSU with 9800GTX+ and C2D. Should run fine with quad core as well.

BTW don't compare 8800 and 4870 since 8800 are a lot older cards.

I think 2GB memory isn't that much. I had 2GB and my mem-usage was 100% in modern games (crysis,farcry2 etc.). Now i have 4GB altough only 3GB is used since i have 32bit XP. The mem-usage can go as high as 80-90% so i think having more than 2GB is really preferred.

don't take this wrong nothing meant by it just bored, but it youp have more then the 3.25(4GB), even though your OS won't use it, any application that can support it will. like CAD, and some games.

No they don't because the OS doesn't map the excess memory at all. If you run 32bit OS it simply won't understand all of that memory and doesn't map it for use. If it's not recognized by OS the programs can't use it either.

honestly i hate the idiots at crysis for not streamlining the game by default. i use tweaks and get a HUGE boost in performance with almost the same setup as you, just a better processor. For example if you type in e_hw_occlusion_culling_objects 1 in console you stop drawing any objects that aren't visible to the player. its simple and takes no extra resources, but its not enabled by default...

thats just stupid to me.

God this game kills computer resources. I can barely plat on gamer settings. When I go 2 enthusiast don't even try it on mine. I get like 5 FPS.

I play on Enthusiast one an E6300 @ 3ghz, and a 9600gt @ 780, 2000, 1000 and get around 25-30 fps.

I'm playing at 1440 by 900 on gamer settings getting about 20-FPS normally. But when I overclock the Core speed and Memory speed I get around 30-40. I used to have two 8800gts' running on sli but one burned out. but its still playable.

Nah. In idle its virtually all silent - in operation it can at times spin up a bit depending on what environment the card operates in. As in how well ventilated your chassi is.

why do you only have 2gb of ram, ram would significantly boost your fps and would all around help your performance with all apps.

ram is very cheap these days, good investment imo.

I will get myself some new RAM when I get a Phenom II 930BE processor in January, but until then I stick to my set. But I doubt I will see any boost more than top two-three frames a second with extra RAM as the system can't in practice utilize more than around 3GB in either way.

The reason why I'm hot on extra RAM is for those multimedia applications - I've noticed really heavy tasks makes things snail down significantly, and atleast I want to blame the RAM.

Hey.I hav a 4850 and pentium D, which as you can imagine, bottlenecks the 4850 like crazy. Pathetic fps on almost every game, yet some (like Source engine games) are worse than others due to more cpu needs. U seem to know a bit about the next AMD load (phenom II). Do u know how much they will be? I heard around £200 in the UK (where I live). And any idea which intel CPUs they'll beat? e.g. will they be better than the q9450 and other expensive, high end ones.

No single-card can perform like that and I have yet to see any benchmarks showcasing that kind of performance.

That doesn't make any sense. the ati hd4870 is one of the fastest cards in the world. and you only get 19 fps. my brother has a 9800GT that preforms better. I think your mobo and/or processor is bottlenecking your card. really. it's a shame the 4870 isn't working at it's full potential in your comp.

Don't worry, this engine will never be used beyond the strict limitation of Crysis-games... every other game these games uses Unreal 3 or Source technology, which is for something better in all ways.

Well that's not totally true.the crysis Crytek engine is actually commercially available for companies just the same as the Unreal 3 engine. Only the Unreal 3 engine is way less heavy on the videocard and processor. thus making it the better (read: more popular) choise

Ofcourse, the engine is avalible for other parts to use - but when Crysis failed to even go with profit who would even think about utilizing the engine? Unreal 3 is overall a better choise as it works and utilizes every corner of the computer rather than just sucking up all graphics processing capabilities and still hunger for something way beyond that,

Whatever, it get this average with aa 4x at 1280x1024 35~50. Same the x2 dont have a big diference, it performs like a HD 4870. If you dont believe go search for benchmarks. Sometimes a HD 4870 get more performace than a x2 in crysis.
