These guys are nuts, you know many people buy comic books JUST FOR THE FUCKING ILLUSTRATIONS and not fantasizing about wearing a costume to look like dumbass
In response to those who believe it takes a person of a specific skin color to do these things, look up Phoenix Jones. He's not that hard to find on youtube.
While this trailer makes it seem like these people are actually doing something "superhero/ crimefighting" related. The actual thing is fucking boring. nothing happens. They dont accomplish shit. Go get a real job or something...
This idiots are lucky they don't go up against real gangsters. Those motha fuckers won't hesitate to put caps on their cracker asses. Bunch of nerds/rejects/fools!
@Justin3Santiago Well, besides master legend, I'm sure you wouldn't want to fuck with any of the guys from the brooklyn group. Lucid looks like he can take on anybody. dudes ripped.
Awesome. That is exactly what my web series, Wingman is about, real-life superheroes. I think you'd like it. It's a comedy about a superhero who still lives with his mom and seems to be his own worst enemy.
with that car people are like ''Damn, this guy is a super hero?'' What a fucking idiot -.-
No ... people see a 1 billion exclusive Suit made by USA Army best scientist than they say ''Damn he must be superhero'' plus, if you have enough money to do like batman and buy Weapon/Gadget professional maker for you... I love this guys, I just think they would die in a real fight againts crime, such as a Bank Robery, we need a hero prepared, with gadgets, with stealth and physical fighting trainninG!
@TheRebelEye Oh yeah, forgot to mention. Max Mercury was the guy who went active in 1976. I'm sure that with a little research we could find heroes that predate him, I remember hearing about one that was present in the 60's.
So does anyone wonder if this is a response to cops being overwhelmed and undermanned in the face of crime? Or is it a response of people watching superhero movies and thinking they could do the same.
It’s fun to see that there are people out there who do things like this. Whether it’s for personal reasons or for the betterment of others, there’s a certain level of respect I have for people who go out on a wire to make a statement. Documentaries belong in that category all together. Films like Programming the Nation? Try to make people more aware and do so with the risk of backlash. I personally loved the film, bitly .com/oQ0ZVk.
I thought this was a pretty awesome concept up until I saw that dude with the tinfoil hat punching the door while saying.. "ah ya" over and over again. Then I sort of just lost faith in all of this.
See I want to make a Iron Man version of Zimmer's North Star. If I could get a strobe feature then it would help a lot more. And Superhero reminds me I need to get a sonic grenade soon. I got the air horn but what does Zetaman need a blowtorch for? I use Sap Gloves for my Iron Fist. I do know that I'm getting a captain America shield so that I can custom it and I'm also doing some other stuff in honor of the new Avengers movie.
when i first saw the trailer i was lik wtf and laughed but after i saw it, it made me see that theres people that actually want to make a diffrence wether people can look at them and laugh at least they are doing something, just walking around in suit that people will point at and laugh takes some kind of courage, now walking around trying to make a diffrence in any way u can, well that should tell u something.
Not that Mr. Xtreme, Master Legend, and the NY Initiative weren't fun to follow, but I would've liked to see a little bit more of EVERYONE this doc shows. We see the guy with the black hood and bow ( 00:27 ) once or twice, but we never get a chance to see him in action. How does he operate non-lethally? Or IS he lethal in his methods?
Not to mention that a majority of the "superheroes" in the documentary break the cardinal rule of being a superhero: revealing your true identity. Being a superhero isn't a part time gig, that's why it's so unrealistic unless you're loaded like Bruce Wayne or some shit.
Anybody can circle the block on a skateboard and take down license plate numbers.
Glad to see people try to do something but in DC comics aka Detective Comics they would actually look for evidence and try to find out who is behind a crime. Not saying they are not doing something but there are kids and other missing people out there. They could try to find those people or take down crime mobs who import drugs to the US. Oh well! Even super heroes can't do everything.
The list. Out of the millions of animal species in history... Top 12 Smartest Animals ever on Earth: 12. Portia Labiata Jumping Spider 11. Raccoon 10. Rats 9. Ravens & Crows 8. The drunken guy everyone seemed to laugh at had to have been the smartest man on this movie. He said something as he was helping a homeless person in a wheelchair across the street and I will never forget it.
"Life here is not important, what is important is the life beyond this"
I personally wish these heroes the best of luck. Honestly, I wish I could join them (strength in numbers), we could be better than vigilante gangs. The government could support them by setting up bounties on known crims & preset bounties of undefined crims. The problem is that the police are run like a business, that's why you can't trust them. It doesn't matter if they're trained or not, it matters if they give a shit what happens our friends & community. People like this could save Mexico...
I had the honour of seeing this at HotDocs earlier this summer. The first half plays for a lot of laughs, like the trailer makes you expect. But the second half, you start to see a lot of the real good that these people are making in their communities.
Are they off-kilter? Absolutely. But some of the, like Thanatos and Master Legend really try their best to have a positive influence on others.
Yes there are police, but the laws they follow and restictions and etc stop them from being as effective as they could. In this doc, theres a scene where the vigilantes stop a drug dealing Good yes, then they call Cops, Good Yes? Cops never show. Fucking Cops. They stop dude from driving drunk take his keys away, Cops show up, and keep on driving. Police forces lie, cheat the system and we know they do, these heroes have good souls unlike the men who Run the rules at police station
OMG, I watched this, the ones who know martial arts and crimial justice backgrounds are legit, in shape etc. And the ones who have more realistic down to earth costumes, like these ones group from brooklyn or dude just wearing reg tie and vest. But the Fatties in hockey gear and shit are embarrassing to this movement. They just fanboys who living the dream.
actually watched it on hbo, the heroes may all be weird, but the main thing they do is help the homeless, most of them are broke and still help others. They all may be fucking odd but there still a better man than me
In no world other than fiction would I call these people normal. Props to those of them that do good deeds but you don't need a silly outfit to make a difference. Lose the outfits, get a job and volonteer for relief work somewhere. I'm all for some live action roleplay, its a great way to stimulate the imagination and act out fantasies but when you are the only one roleplaying it gets dangerous and silly fast. People that do this make more work for the cops than difference.
watched this yesterday...fucking awesome, these people are tapped! & i think master legend is an alcoholic...lol i was waiting to see one of them get their ass kicked or stabbed!
@spectorblind1 Spector, there are people that have been doing this since the 90's. You accused them of being " Actors " when there are hundreds more that weren't even mentioned in the movie who don't do it for fame.
I watched this on HBO and it was a interesting yet a good documentary. Yes some of them look ridiculous and act weird but in the end their hearts in the right place its just they take it a little to extreme. They could always help out people in need in so many different ways. Also after watching this it made go watch The Dark Knight because I swear some of them were wearing hockey pads ha ha ha
Funniest parts are 0:33-0:40 and 0:46-0:54(Specially the "North Star"). Laughter aside, I wish I had the courage to be like these guys. Yeah, its a bit stupid, and geeky of course, but there going above and beyond the call to make our Country a better place. I mean some of them are obviously dorks, but their heart is totally in the right place. Past what this trailer shows, they also pass out food, water and what not to the homeless; overall cool people in my book.
I watched this last night, it's the funniest and the saddest thing I've ever seen all rolled into one. It's fucking hilarious seeing them in the streets in their costumes, and then back in their studio apartments alone with their comic book collections
OH GOD! Now we have good guys in costumes, but that means eventually if this continues were gonna have REAL LIFE SUPER-VILLAINS!!!!!! I dont know whether to nerdgasm or fear for my life...
Dudes. In Multicolor spandex. Holding entire cities for ransom, threatening to detonate nukes they stole, release superviruses, and pull meteors into earth... Once again: Not sure whether to scream in terror or nerdgasm all over my keyboard!
@spockrevan47 Real life super-villains actually do exist, but they aren't very plentiful, and they typically identify as superheroes but are pretty much completely insane.
@DumbassInk Me lol my wife knows I wanted to do something like this here in flint, mi. She also knew I would be watching this video here, so she beat me to the punch by telling me no lol.

@ohhhREALY LMFAO Imagine
Dudes. In Multicolor spandex. Holding entire cities for ransom, threatening to detonate nukes they stole, release superviruses, and pull meteors into earth... Once again: Not sure whether to scream in terror or nerdgasm all over my keyboard!
spockrevan47 6 months ago
@spockrevan47 Real life super-villains actually do exist, but they aren't very plentiful, and they typically identify as superheroes but are pretty much completely insane.

rudymoran1 6 months ago
The costumes are so people don't know who they are. If people know who they are then they can get in trouble.
