  • This is one of the most hardcore things I have ever seen

  • 4:00 what is the song called ?? is very dark and creepy

  • they said to the soldiers: 2 minutes in that hell instead of 2 years in miitary...

  • @Sk4ggen They had no idea of the radioactive levels.

  • @Sk4ggen moron

  • @Sk4ggen you are ******

Theese mens are biggest HEROES in the world!

  • @Sk4ggen ублюдок! bastard!

  • малолетнее швейцарское чмо

  • @Sk4ggen малолетнее швейцарское чмо

  • @Sk4ggen If it weren't for them, most of the countries of the world would be irradiated (me thinks).

  • @Sk4ggen these men are heroes you are an ignorant fuck and you obviously do not know what they did to save the whole of Europe.

  • @Sk4ggen I hope you die in a fire, because the firemen that came to save your stupid ass were too "retarded", as you put it, to save you. Idiot.

  • @SigEpBlue They wouldn't have to save my ass in the first place if the RUSSIANS WEREN'T SO FUCKING RETARDED IN THE FIRST PLACE. Sweden have nuclearreactors too, Do we have meltdowns? NO.

BECAUSE WE, UNLIKE THE RUSSIANS ARE NOT RETARDED.

    FUCK YOU.

  • @Sk4ggen russians like quantity over quality. they'll take as many shortcuts possibly to produce something good. it works for a little while then breaks down.

if they had proper containment, this may have been avoided. we owe a lot to those brave guys. as humanity not as a nationality. the world had a lot less radiation thanks to them.

  • @chillaxer1993do u know the thing that after the explosion no one said anything for 40h and its only because some other country found radioactive clouds in their countries said to rest of the world and that radioactive clouds went in different directions and above different countries (mostly europe) radioactive rays could have fallen on ground anywhere cities, forests, people's backyards and a lot of people got injured for rest of their life's just cause those people didnt said anything for 40h

  • OMG, The Russians could sell an industry to its people, then called it a "national emergency" , and force them, patriotically to clean up a bullshit industry's problem. Fukushima is the same. Now they are trying desperately to call it an act of war to get some help. I say fuck them. We have had geet for 30 years and dont need nukes. Let those dishonest, nuke money making, free energy suppressing mutherfuckers go there and sell, and clean up their own poison. Fuck them.

  • Snow Shovels would have been nice. I think the General looks forward to occasions like these where he can put on his mothballed Soviet uniform and show off all of his shiny medals. These guys where brave there is no denning that but I can't help but think that there had to be better ways of dealing with the disaster. Like putting a skip loader or a "Bobcat" on the roof. No electronics to fail and a whole lot more efficient then digging spades.

  • Why they have spade? Why they didn't give them normal shovels?

  • This is fascinating. It's incredible to see these brave people working in such terrible conditions, trying so hard to get the job done. Amazing footage.

  • That lead shielding cannot have been particularly effective. Low energy gammas are easily stopped(think x-rays at the dentist). Nb-95, Zr-95 and La-140 would have been responsible for most of the gamma power at this time, and they're very energetic. All the lead would do is block a small number of compton-scattered gammas that have lost most of their energy, and minor isotopes like Ru-103.

  • I can understand why he says "Lets go, thats enough" after putting that geiger counter close that a uranium rod which is have seen it full life inside the reactor!!

  • And the camera man. Why film it?

  • @duncantoms so we can see it now.. And he probably didnt know it was thát dangerous..:(

  • "i can tell you there´s nothing terrifing."

    Horrible und sad.

  • why didn't they drop the building?

  • You'd think they'd have bigger shovels.

  • notice the people who build and owned the nuclear power plants (CEO'S, politicians who gave permits for the construction etc) will never be there on the roof to clean the mass in case of disaster. gov' will give the tender for privet companies, both get rich, and when shit hits the fan- the little good guy from the arm pay the price.

    boycott atomic energy!!!!!!!!

  • @makaveliguy bold statement considering the energy used to power your computer probably was from a nuclear power plant

  • @Inv4derxXx

no, in my country the planets works on natural gas and cohal.....the problem is because in the current capitalistic world everything is growing and growing- demand for electricity is exploding and fast & powerful energy is required. hence, atomic energy.

the only solution is to go back to basis, and live more natural simple life. stop building malls and close every thing out there that eat kilo-wats like crazy and has no benefit liek shopping malls, luna parks for example....

  • @makaveliguy do you realize how much worse it is to use coal and natural gas compared to nuclear power... it would require many more natural gas/coal plants to make as much power as one nuclear reactor. plus nuclear power produces less pollution than coal and natural gas. if you think we should live a simple lifestyle go move to Egypt and then tell me how much you love it

  • @Inv4derxXx

i know its more polluting then nuclear. thats why i said we need to economize the demand for electricity. by learning to live without air conditioning systems for example that you have in every concrete structure today, and eat electricity like tomorrow. it doesn't equal "move to Egypt"- dont take extremist case to try enforce your point. oh and notice people in Egypt are not dying from simple lifestyle.

  • @makaveliguy i don't know were you are from but without air conditioning people would die were i'm from, tell me how a older person is supposed to survive in a 120 degree heat index, tell me were a air conditioner/heater system could not be implemented.

  • @makaveliguy We almost deforested Europe for the sake of fuel and that was before the industrial revolution. In England we damned up near every river and stream to provide mechanical power; an ecological disaster.

The so called "more natural simple life" involves killing most of the population(otherwise there will be no nature left and most people will die of exposure or starve). It involves average life spans of 30-40 years. It involves unceasing labour and quite likely the return of slavery.

  • That general lies like a rug.

  • @robinhoodtheorem Notice his fat ass is in perfect health. This is indeed so tragic.

  • heroes, every one.

  • The japanese should put the whole TEPCO-company managers against the wall, AFTER they forced them to work as "biorobots" in Fukushima!

  • @Wuchtamsel Why? The work needs to be done. Who else can do it?

  • @FOOLYCOOLY

Why? To restore reason of state! At the moment we can watch a single company, which is and has ever been corrupt to its bones, driving a whole country against the wall. Why should completely innocent people literally sacrifice their lives for the profits TEPCO has made the last40 years??? If the japanese people would opt for a revolution now and execute the ones responsible according to martial law, they could save their dignity at least. But they won't, cause they have no balls.

  • @Wuchtamsel Oh. You're a troll, I shouldn't have bothered.

  • @FOOLYCOOLY

We will see... I think I shouldn't have bothered with a pathologic optimistic US-idiot.

  • @Wuchtamsel Think about it for a second. I won't dispute that TEPCO is corrupt. But it would not be wise to demand TEPCO managers to go in and do it for themselves. As the issue at hand is trying to prevent a disaster, it is likely that the TEPCO managers are not nearly as knowledgeable about fieldwork as the actual engineers; the stakes are too high to make this about revenge.

Also, to call the Japanese cowards for not rioting immediately after massive disruption to infrastructure is naive.

  • @FOOLYCOOLY

I'm not talking about the people working at the plant at the moment. These 50 guys are poor devils for sure, knowing that they will probably die! But what do you think will happen during the next months? No matter how things turn out, there will be the need to build some kind of barrier to shield the whole shi* from the biosphere. This won't be realized by 50 people but rather next to a million, estimated conservatively, considering we are talking about six plants.

  • @Wuchtamsel Not all six of the plants have serious problems. Fukushima is the one that is currently leaking, and I believe a second one might have similar problems, but not all 6. A lot could go wrong in Fukushima, but it's not quite like you're saying.

  • @FOOLYCOOLY

There are six blocks alone at Fukushima 1.

  • @Wuchtamsel Ah. Still, according to the BBC, the type of radioactive matter that has escaped so far will for the most part decay fairly quickly. There will be some longer lasting environmental effects due to contamination, but it's not like we've had a leak of plutonium. An explosion of a reactor isn't very likely and it did occir it would not spread extremely far.

  • @FOOLYCOOLY

Yes, I know, but considering for example statements of the USNRC, the European Energy commisioner and US, French and German government officials we will probably see something very "impressive" during the next 48 hours if there is no miracle on the rise. Believe me, I hope I'll be proven wrong for sure.

  • @Wuchtamsel Alright. Thanks for the info, I'll keep an eye out.

  • @FOOLYCOOLY

If one nuclear reactor suffered a complete meltdown wouldn't radiation levels become too high to prevent further meltdowns in the remaining reactors?

  • "Comrades! If you consider to conceive a child in your life, do it now!"

  • These guys have got balls. Big respect to them...

  • that is rediculous, look how small the shovels are and they have barely anything each trip in the already small shovel.

  • This would be pretty funny is it wasn't so sad.

  • Is that a fuel rod at 1:31?

  • @marc80s

    I think it´s a controlrod.

  • God bless these men the bravest thing I have ever seen and we honor you and thank you for your sacrifices

  • lets hope a similar thing doesnt happen in japan..... this is horrible

  • god they were already dead by going up there....

  • This 1986 right?! I mean why would you build a nuclear facility without the proper radioactive suits available? Surgeon masks and cloth suits! I mean even in 3mile island(1979)they had the proper suits!

Not to mention these men were probley not even aware at the amount of danger. they were in. They forced "reservists" to be the fall men. I bet the government didn't even help or pay for the expenses the reservists had to suffer from the radiation.

    Sad sad sad....

  • In Soviet Russia, Robot is you.

    Great job Gentlemen.

    /kneel

  • @nazaxprime this is not the topic for russians jokes jerk!

  • They should have broad shovels instead of spades. Idiots had command.

  • @wombplug Thank you Dr. Obvious.

    Nicename BTW.

  • its not iron its lead

  • wait wait wait...why are they wearing paper masks..

  • @oliethemagicbum Yeah LOL, that should have been iron masks (or something)

  • @greendayfan567 no it wont help anything the wear those masks for the highly radioactive dust ;)

  • @miragef19 It depends on what kind of radiation that dust emits. If you must radiate your skin with the alpha particles, then why should you inhale the dust and poison your lungs and throat the same way? Even paper is good enough to hold the dust and radiation. However the gamma rays cause most concerns here.

  • @greendayfan567 Why protect your mouth and nose with iron when you, when you have a lot more vital organs to protect?

  • @SloveintzWend They weren't trying to specifically protect their faces form the radiation. They wanted to keep the radioactive particles out of their lungs. The debris that was on the roof was very radioactive and if you were poisoned by it from inside your body it would basically be a death sentence.

  • @redsplash168 I know, that's what I said. It was either way a death sentence roaming on that rooftop.

  • @greendayfan567 Something like, Iron MAN perhaps?

  • @oliethemagicbum Because it blocks radioactive particulates in the atmosphere. Nuclear fission is rad, if you pardon the pun. Respect it, but fear not. Learn, to be sure... People are so afraid of not only what they don't know, but mostly of what they don't WANT to know, especially if it demands respect.

    @ that:

I <3 my TLD and my 0.0mR Recorded lifetime whole body dosage.

3 cheers for not being a fucking idiot that is incapable of learning the subtle secrets of the atom!

    Huzzah!Huzzah!Huzzah!

  • They should have just carried on with robots, no matter what it costs but instead they send human beings up there disgusting :(

  • @limatedman yeah, but the soviet was lieng (dont know how to say) to them. They said: "There is no danger on the roof" to them

    RIP victims of chernobyl

  • the one who sent them there should have been executed or killed slowly and painfully.

  • I am blown away at how the level of protection does not appear to be that heavy for the bio-robots. You would expect something like a space suit or something

  • @Crisgo3d i agree man

  • This mans are very brave !

  • @VNMIG they didnt know the danger out there, if they would have know how dangerous this is they woud never agreed to this

  • @softbreeze941 Someone have to do that, In bet was milions of lifes, also I think that they was know that there is radiation out there, I think tahat nobodey was hesitate about it, that 60 seconds on the roof saved thousand lifes.. :)

  • @MacTavishSAS really?

  • @softbreeze941 Help your country, dont get shot in the head and live after a nice Radshower, or Die a traitor to your family, your friends and your society... I dont think "Agree" was a word that was being tossed around at the time. I can allways be wrong though. XD

  • @VNMIG yeah but these men are also very dead

  • @V4lb not all of them
